The Munster's home, according to the series, was built on the remains of an old fort, with Grandpa providing the down payment when Herman and Lily bought the home. Before filming began, the original address for the house was supposed to be 13 Friday St., but was changed to 1313 Mockingbird Lane in the city of Mockingbird Heights, a fictional suburb in California.
