"Las Vegas Law"? More like "Las Vegas Lawlessness". Or "Bucky's Loophole Exploits".
"I truly believe that if I can get these people out of jail, they can get their lives in order." - Bucky, the Lying Defense Lawyer.
If you see any law here then you must be hallucinating. All that I see is a frightening picture of L.V.'s legal system, and how amoral shysters such as Buchanan misuse it to get rich (and now famous, as well) - at the expense of the safety of the public. This man is willing to represent practically ANY low-life scumbag, as long as he sees a good chance to get him off the hook i.e. win another case. He'd probably salivate & drool all over his nappy at the hypothetical chance of going back in time to defend someone like Goering or Hess. He smiles and he grins and he cracks his lame jokes and he poses his fat torso in front of the camera, while he helps out (repeat) offenders such as car-thieves, violent husbands, drug-traffickers, criminally insane junkies, out-of-control road-rage manslaughterers, and the like. And after his day's job is done, he goes to his happy blood-money-financed home, where his much taller wife waits for him, smiling like a cooked zombie. (She's about six feet, he's around four: A perfect-matching, great-looking couple if I ever saw one! Ah, those short guys and their deep-seated inferiority complex...) And they smile and they laugh and they throw happy-shiny-people parties for their judge and prosecutor friends, and it's all actually one big happy family at the end of the day. And I vomit.
Is this why a company called "Lighthearted Entertainment" produced this monstrosity of a circus? The viewer is actually expected to SIDE with Bucky and his often borderline-moronic clients, most of which show no remorse whatsoever for anything wrong they'd ever done. We are meant to view this show as some kind of easy-viewing cheese, the way we watch MTV's "Made" or "Idol", as we observe His Greedy Chubbness in making the streets even more unsafe, while occasionally exchanging the "F" word with his jaded secretary and his primitive clients.
Frankly, there is absolutely nothing even remotely cute or funny to be found here. LVL showcases nothing but the utmost decadence, which is spiraling out of control in today's Western world. Moochers and psychopaths have never had it this good in society i.e. never in the history of civilization have all of society's misfits had better opportunity to indulge in their criminal and other harmful activities than today. Naturally, types like U.S. liberals are there to protect their interests every step of the way.
I am quite sure that LVL has its fans among such people and organizations as Alan Derschowitz, Johnnie Cochran ("if the glove don't fit, you can get away with much s**t"), the Human Rights Watch ("psychopaths are never guilty"), Amnesty International ("free ALL prisoners"), Sean Penn, Jane Fonda, O.J. Simpson, etc. If Hitler were alive, and he had nothing better to do with his time, he'd probably feel rather cozy and all warm inside watching this garbage, too...
Not to mention that Bucky is sly enough to probably have a clause in the contract, giving him power to veto/edit any cases which he lost, or handled badly. Don't be fooled into believing that he's invincible in the court. He must lose occasionally too. At least that's a comfort, albeit a comparatively small one.
