Robert Trebor, most known for his role as Salmoneus in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess,has died at age 71. He also portrayed serial killer Son of Sam (David Berkowitz) in the made-for-tv crime thriller film Out of the Darkness in 1985. The actor's wife, Deirdre Hennings, told The Hollywood Reporter that Trebor died on March 11 at the Los Angeles Center of sepsis. Hennings also revealed that her husband was diagnosed with leukemia in 2012, and in 2013 had a stem-cell transplant. His final appearance on-screen was as the movie producer of Hail, Caesar! in the 2016 film of the same name, starring Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson, and more. However, Trebor built a resume strong enough to last forever.

Peter Jason, a character actor known for his roles in “Deadwood,” “48 Hrs.” and “Prince of Darkness,” along with his many television appearances, died Thursday in his West Hollywood home. He was 80.

Jason’s death was confirmed by a rep from Tribesmen Pictures, with the cause of death being cancer. On X, “Halloween” director John Carpenter shared a tribute to the actor, writing that “he was a dear friend and I’ll miss him terribly.”

Peter Jason, the extremely busy character actor who appeared in nine features for Walter Hill and seven for John Carpenter and portrayed the card dealer-turned-reverend Con Stapleton on HBO’s Deadwood, has died. He was 80.

Jason died Thursday in his West Hollywood home after a long battle with cancer, a family representative told The Hollywood Reporter.

Jason amassed more than 275 acting credits on IMDb alone during his seven-decade onscreen career that began in the mid-1960s with a comedy sketch on CBS’ The Red Skelton Show, and he made his big-screen debut in Howard Hawks’ final film, Rio Lobo (1970), where his character died in the arms of John Wayne.

Production on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is underway, and the film has just cast the parents of the titular hero. Based on the DC Comic of the same name, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will see House of the Dragon's Milly Alcock in the lead role of Kara Zor-El, a.k.a. Supergirl in the Dcu. The roles of Supergirl's mom and dad have been cast, and they are fan favorites.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham are set to play Supergirls' parents. The Art Directors Guild has pulled back the curtain on its 2025 career honorees and added a legend from Hollywood’s Golden Age to its Hall of Fame.

Art department veterans Lisa Frazza, Barbara Mesney, Dan Sweetman and J. Dennis Washington are set for the guild’s Lifetime Achievement Award, while the late Oscar winner Carl Jules Weyl — whose credits also include Casablanca and The Adventures of Robin Hood — is its newest Hall of Famer. Roberto Orci, a screenwriter on the “Star Trek” and “Transformers” franchises, was accused in a lawsuit Monday of repeatedly beating and sexually assaulting his wife.

Adele Heather Taylor, an actor in “The Blacklist,” “Hail, Caesar!” and more, alleges in the suit that Orci was bipolar, an alcoholic and would fly into violent rages. She alleges that he would call her a “slut,” a “whore” and would drag her around the house and beat her, leaving bruises all over her body.

In May 2022, she alleges that Orci chased her into the garden and pinned her down on the ground and threatened to rape her. The following month, she alleges that he sexually assaulted her in the garden, telling her, “You enjoy being raped.”

She also alleges that Orci called the police on her in April 2020, after she had tried to fight him off, and that she was arrested for domestic abuse.

It’s hard to put into words the kind of the disappointment that comes with realising that one of your favourite filmmakers has made a truly terrible movie. That realisation hit me approximately 10 minutes into Drive-Away Dolls, the new film by one half of acclaimed filmmaking duo The Coen Brothers.

Alongside his brother Joel, Ethan Coen has given us more than 4 decades of brilliant films ranging from quirky black comedies – A Serious Man, Hail, Caesar!, Inside Llewyn Davis – to beautifully devised crime capers – Blood Simple, No Country for Old Men and True Grit being just a few – but recently the prolific brothers took a break from working together. Exclusive: David Krumholtz (Oppenheimer) has signed on to star in Forelock, a dark comedy marking the solo feature directorial debut of Caleb Alexander Smith (NCIS).

The filmmaker also stars in the pic, which he scripted. Emily Swallow (The Mandalorian), Alimi Ballard (Queen of the South) and Chloe Farnworth (MaXXXine) round out the cast.

Forelock centers on a naive fitness enthusiast (Smith) seeking a fresh start in Los Angeles, watching as he collides with a Hollywood Boulevard grifter (Krumholtz) who exploits his uncanny resemblance to the world’s most famous superhero.

Pic is the first for Midnight Chimes, the film and TV production company founded last year by sports journalist and broadcaster Lindsay McCormick and Smith. Paramount’s “Bob Marley: One Love” will retain its holding as the top film on domestic charts this weekend, besting a trio of new releases in the manga adaptation “Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba — To the Hashira Training,” the faith-based Hilary Swank drama “Ordinary Angels” and Ethan Coen’s lesbian crime caper “Drive-Away Dolls.”

“One Love” added $3.7 million to its domestic haul on Friday, marking a modest 51% drop from its gross seven days ago. After opening on Valentine’s Day, the Bob Marley biopic has now earned a solid $61 million across its first 10 days in North American theaters. To compare against genre contemporaries, it’s pacing a bit ahead of the $50 million that “Rocketman” earned in 2019 across the same period of time, and a chunk behind 2022’s “Elvis,” which nabbed $66 million in 10 days. Worldwide, “One Love” has now surpassed $100 million.

They're known primarily for their ability to write cross-genre films and even won the Palm d'Or for their film Barton Fink back in 1991.

One year later, Ethan Coen came out with “Jerry Lee Lewis: Trouble in Mind,” a small-scale rock ‘n’ roll documentary that he made during the pandemic; it was a YouTube clip job, and on those terms expertly crafted — but even after Jerry Lee died (five months after the film’s Cannes premiere), it took ages for the film to be released.

Oppenheimer star Robert Downey Jr. has shared a new set of images honoring his reunion with the cast. The Christopher Nolan-directed biographical drama follows J. Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy) before, during, and after his time at Los Alamos leading the team that developed the atomic bomb. In the movie, Downey Jr. played Lewis Strauss, a member of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission who became a central figure in the hearings to strip Oppenheimer of his security clearance after the end of World War II.

Kim Jee-woon began his career in the 1990s as an actor and a theater director before directing his debut feature film, “The Quiet Family”, in 1998.
