Sometimes, the most honest answers come from a place of self-reflection. Take it from Patrick Schwarzenegger, who didn’t sugarcoat his feelings when talking about his decision to not act alongside his dad, Arnold Schwarzenegger. We mean, imagine being asked that question a thousand times!
It’s the kind of pressure that could easily make anyone crack. But not The White Lotus star. He dug deep, reflecting on his career path, and in a candid conversation on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, he revealed exactly why he chose to carve his own path, away from the shadow of his legendary father.

Let’s be honest here—following in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s massive footsteps can’t be easy. But his son, with his own career ambitions, had his reasons for wanting to stand on his own two feet.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver‘s son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, responded to accusations of nepotism after landing a leading role in season three of White Lotus.
“I know there are people who’ll say I only got this role because of who my dad is,” he told The Sunday Times in an interview. “They’re not seeing that I’ve had ten years of acting classes, put on [high] school plays every week, worked on my characters for hours on end, or the hundreds of rejected auditions I’ve been on.”
He continued, “Of course, it’s frustrating and you get boxed in and you think at the moment, ‘I wish I didn’t have my last name,’ but that’s a small moment. I would never trade my life with anyone. I’m very fortunate to have the life and family that I have, the parents I have, and the lessons...

Rising actor Ray Nicholson is making his own mark in Hollywood, though that's not coming without a lot of inspiration from his famous father. Nicholson, whose latest role is in the horror sequel Smile 2, has shared how father Jack Nicholson is his "hero" as he follows in the Batman actor's footsteps.
Per Deadline, Ray Nicholson commented on how he's inspired by Jack while at the premiere for Smile 2. Fans may have surmised as much based on how the younger Nicholson smiles in Smile 2, as the actor's look has been compared to Jack's creepy smile he'd make with his role in The Shining. While Ray pointed out how he and his father are two "very different people," he also shared how he sees his father as his "hero," as they are "similar" in some ways as well.

Four-time Grammy Nominee Elle King appeared recently on Bunnie XOs Dumb Blonde podcast, where she spoke about her relationship with her actor father, Rob Schneider. She took the opportunity to elaborate on the tumultuous relationship between the two, and how she disagrees with his outspoken views of drag and the LGBTQ+ community following the opening ceremony of this year's Olympic Games.
Reported by Variety, King's comments followed Schneider's reaction to the Olympic opening ceremony. The ceremony featured an interpretation of Leonardo da Vinci's "The Last Supper", but instead of the usual image of Jesus and his disciples, the moment saw drag queens and colorful people taking their place in the tableau. In late July, Schneider spoke openly about his distaste for the imagery included in the French's show, remarking that he hoped these Olympics "get the same number of viewers as Cspan."

According to regular Adam Sandler co-star Nick Swardson, getting a role in one of the Sandman’s movies is roughly equivalent to him calling you up to join a game of pick-up basketball. (Sandler might do that too.) Take, for example, the time Swardson was cast in Just Go With It alongside Jennifer Aniston.
“Sandler called me, I remember exactly where I was,” Swardson told David Spade and Dana Carvey on their Fly on the Wall podcast. “I was at Baby Blues BBQ in Venice, and Sandler calls me and he goes, ‘Hey, what are you doing?’ And I go, ‘I’m having dinner. Why? What’s up?’ And he goes, ‘Can you do a German accent?’ And I go, ‘What? Like this?’”
Here Swardson said something unintelligible in Germanic gibberish.
“And (Sandler) goes, ‘Okay, perfect. Call you tomorrow.’”
The next day, Sandler called back as promised. “We’re doing a movie in Hawaii.

Everyone has a high school movie that rings uncomfortably true to their own experiences as a teenager. For some, it's a bitingly satirical portrait like "Heathers" or "Mean Girls," while for others, it's a brutally honest dramedy like "The Edge of Seventeen." But for me, there's only one film that really captures what my time was like as a non-Mormon attending a predominantly Mormon high school in a small Utah town in the early 2000s, and that's "Napoleon Dynamite." True, writer/director Jared Hess' 2004 cult hit takes place in the filmmaker's hometown of Preston, Idaho, but ... well, let's just say that if you know anything about small-town Utah and Idaho Mormon culture, then you know they weren't exactly worlds apart when the film was made.

Underrated comedy movies on Netflix offer a range of comedic styles, from slapstick to spoof, with memorable characters and hilarious performances. Despite critical backlash, movies like "The Happytime Murders" and "Dirty Grandpa" remain guilty pleasures and box office successes. "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga" and "Accepted" are surprising, underrated comedies on Netflix that deserve more recognition.
When it comes to the underrated comedy movies on Netflix, there are several to choose from that are both underappreciated and often labeled as guilty pleasures. It could be argued that most comedy movies are guilty pleasure movies that simply vary between comic tastes. The more ridiculous, far-fetched, or over-the-top a comedy is, the guiltier the pleasure of watching it. As a pure form of escapism, the comedy genre tends to sit near the top of the heap, offering audiences a chance to forget about life for a while with a big smile on their face.

The Benchwarmers is a hilarious baseball comedy starring Rob Schneider, Jon Heder, and David Spade, but who plays the terrified recluse, Howie? The Benchwarmers premiered in 2006 and features plenty of familiar comedic faces such as Tim Meadows, Jon Lovitz, and Terry Crews. Produced by Happy Madison Productions, The Benchwarmers is a lighthearted sports movie helping adults overcome childhood bullying.
After helping some kids with their bullies on the baseball field, three adult men are approached by a billionaire for a little league baseball tournament. Naming their team “The Benchwarmers” due to their nerdiness and little athletic ability, the team quickly becomes a fan favorite until the past is brought up to threaten them. The Benchwarmers is a wholesome movie with a surprising moral about the spirit of baseball and how to treat others.
Nick Swardson Plays Howie In The Benchwarmers
With his cringey blonde bob haircut, Howie is hilariously portrayed by comedian Nick Swardson.

Welcome to this week’s “Just for Variety.”
Patrick Schwarzenegger can’t reveal any details about his work in the upcoming spinoff of Amazon’s “The Boys” — no, he won’t confirm reports that he’s playing a character named Golden Boy — but he admits that he has shown his father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, photos from the set.
“He looked at me and he was like, ‘What the fuck are you filming?’” Patrick tells me on this week’s episode of the “Just for Variety” podcast. “I was like, ‘It’s this show called ‘The Boys.’ … You have to watch an episode to understand it, or else I can’t articulate what happens in it.”

The summer movie season may be winding down, but HBO Max is keeping the movie ball rolling in September 2021. HBO Max’s list of new releases this month is heavy on the film side of things – both in library and original offerings.
Two Warner Bros. films of note arrive this month. The James Wan-directed horror tale Malignant premieres on Sept. 10 and is followed by Clint Eastwood’s Cry Macho on Sept. 17. The next installment in Adventure Time: Distant Lands (which is kind of like a film series!) is titled Wizard City and opens the month on Sept. 2
Of course, it wouldn’t be a new month of HBO Max releases without some interesting evergreen Warner movie titles. Sept. 1 finds all eight Harry Potter movies returning to WarnerMedia’s streaming service. They will be accompanied by The Goonies, The Evil Dead, Cloverfield, and more. Later on in the month, Mortal Kombat (Sept.

Los Angeles, March 2: Actor Patrick Schwarzenegger said he takes acting advice from his father, Hollywood action superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Talking about whether his father likes to show him how it's done, Patrick said, "No, he doesn't. You know, if I have questions or if I had advice or want to hear what he has to say, I ask but otherwise no. I wouldn't say so."
The young actor grew up in the spotlight and started his career from the age of 10 when he had a small role in The Benchwarmers, but he always knew his father was a big star.
"I think from some age I understood the magnitude of his celebrity, his name and power. Then when he ran for governor and everything. So, yeah I knew. The governor today would be pretty tough. He's very straight-forward. He is what you see. He doesn't beat around the bush.

Ben McGrath (Chris Klein) had major league potential playing professional baseball, but his hopes to play ball literally get crushed. Down on his luck, Ben gets another swing at redemption as a new attorney for Schmood & Associates. His unorthodox boss, Mel (Jon Lovitz), convinces him to manage their eclectic softball team full of misfits and strikeouts. Together, will they have enough spirit to rally and win it all?
Ok, so The Benchwarmers didn’t set the world on fire but I did enjoy the ridiculous underdog film for what it was – a stupid, laugh out loud comedy product from the “Happy Gilmore” factory of filmmaking. In the grand...

David Spade is attached to star in a comedy series currently in the works at HBO from writer Diablo Cody, Variety has confirmed.
The untitled half-hour series follows Calvin Wash (Spade), a semi-famous grunge musician in the ’90s who was hooked on heroin. Now he’s clean, sober and working as a waiter in the Valley. When he meets troubled 20-something actress Bailey, both of their lives change in unexpected and electrifying ways.
Spade will serve as a producer on the project in addition to starring. Cody will write and executive produce, with Jason Reitman executive producing and directing. Cody’s Vita Vera Films and Reitman’s Right of Way Films will produce in association with Warner Bros. Television.
The project reunites Reitman and Cody, who famously first collaborated on the critically-acclaimed film “Juno” in 2007. Since then, they have also worked together on the films “Tully,” “Young Adult” and “Jennifer’s Body.

Emmy winners Jeff Daniels (“The Newsroom”) and Alec Baldwin (“30 Rock”) head up the new Hulu original series “The Looming Tower,” which chronicles the rise of Osama Bin-Laden. Also featured in this docudrama about the inter-agency rivalry between the CIA and FBI in the first part of this century are Golden Globe nominees Peter Sarsgaard and Michael Stuhlbarg. The first of the 10 episodes starts streaming on Hulu on Feb. 28.
Before then, Hulu viewers will get a chance to see another acclaimed docudrama, the film “Detroit” by Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow (“The Hurt Locker”). She reteamed with screenwriter Mark Boal, who also picked up an Oscar for “The Hurt Locker,” for this acclaimed film. “Detroit” documents the riots that beset the motor city in the summer of 1967 after the police raid an unlicensed bar on July 23 and arrest the 82 patrons and staff.
