Rob Zombie has moved his film and television business from UTA to CAA, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The heavy-metal star has directed seven features, most recently 31, which premiered at Sundance last year. His other movies include 2003 directorial debut House of 1000 Corpses and 2005 follow-up The Devil's Rejects, the 2007 re-imagining of John Carpenter's Halloween and its sequel, and 2012's The Lords of Salem.
Zombie went on to co-author a New York Times best-selling novel based on the latter's original story. He also created a comic book series, The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, which he adapted...

So far, Rob Zombie directorial career has resulted in either terrible movies (House of 1,000 Corpses), movies that start strong than devolve into crap (2007's Halloween) or something of a mixed bag (The Devil's Rejects, The Lords of Salem). Or he makes The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, a nasty little bugger of a film where you'll want to stand in the shower for nine days after watching. How, then, this qualifies him to bring Groucho Marx's life story to the screen is anyone's guess, but stranger things have happened in Hollywood. As a matter of fact, looking into the details, Zombie's involvement begins makes a little more sense. amz asin="1593936524" size="small"The biopic, based on Steve Stolair's memoir "Raised Eyebrows: My Years Inside Groucho's House", will not span the comedic actor's whole career but rather his bizarre final ones as seen from his personal secretary/archivist and young fan's perspective.

One of horror’s most well-known directors (or at least, one with an undeniably awesome, genre-appropriate name), Rob Zombie has been laying low since 2012′s The Lords of Salem, a disappointing flick mostly devoid of the scares it promised. However, Zombie has made his love of the genre no secret, so the less-than-warm reception for that film was never likely to keep him away from horror for long. Now, an intriguing tease for what could be the director’s next big-screen project has popped up online.
On the director’s official website, Junior Manager Sarah Martin McIvor recently uploaded a trailer for a film called 31, which you can check out below. Unfortunately, there’s nothing by way of actual footage. Instead, the video looks back on Zombie’s previous directorial gigs, which include House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, Halloween, Halloween II and The Lords of Salem.

I really had not planned to write a review about Rob Zombie’s latest endeavor “The Lords of Salem”. The primary reason simply being that the internet just plain didn’t need another review of this film residing out there in cyberspace. Call it “saturating the market” if you will, me writing about something slightly obscure, new or old would have more than likely served the reader better. Here I am though, so let’s get to it.
I guess I should elaborate on the reason I ended up here. I’ve read only one review that was somewhat favorable about this film. The rest offered no hope of Mr. Zombie regaining his former greatness as the man that would save mainstream horror by giving it all the grime, violence, and homages to vintage films that just could not be found in any similar ilk anywhere else.

Rob Zombie Talks The Lords of Salem, available now on Blu-ray, DVD and VOD
The summer movie season is officially over and the fall awards season has yet to kick into full gear, so we, as film fans, are stuck in a weird sort of limbo that consists of last month's leftovers and B grade schlock at the Cineplex this weekend. If you can't muster up the energy needed to see Vin Diesel in the Drive-In classic-to-be Riddick, you could instead crank up the AC, grab any beverage of choice, and select The Lords of Salem on Blu-ray or DVD. Even better, it's also available on VOD, which just takes a couple of clicks on the remote to enjoy!

Horror and animation go together remarkably well. Heavy Metal was a major blast. The Haunted World of El Superbeasto was one of Rob Zombies true prize moments. Dead Space is absolutely wicked. But there are some really enjoyable animated television series as well and Tales from the Cryptkeeper is one of them. Heres a full season one breakdown. Its a quick slice of animation that works wonderfully as a homage piece and produces a wealth of eyecandy. The Cats Away is an absolute winner that even we old folk can sink our teeth into and its an awfully fine introduction to this fun series.

After his contentious first features (House of a 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects), two Halloween remakes and a feature animation, Rob Zombie returns to the horror genre, once again casting his wife as the lead.
"As I write these very words Margaret Morgan gathers with her coven," scribbles Jonathan Hawthorne in 1696. In the flash of his quill, we meet a group of far-from-hot naked women chanting together: "All hail unholy father - make your presence known this night..." Their nudity is more likely to put you off your food than turn you on as unnerving music accompanies before we're transported to the present. An unclothed dread-locked Sheri Moon Zombie instantly draws parallels to the coven, awakening in a darkened room in a similarly grimy state.

Rob Zombie is back behind the camera for his first feature since 2009's "The Haunted World of El Superbeasto," and if early word is anything to go by, his intensity and ability to scare hasn't weakened one bit. When we caught it at Tiff we said in our review that it's "compelling as it is because it’s driven by a creeping...sense of atmospheric dread." And while the soundtrack for his trippy witch movie will undoubtedly help that tone...it will also be funky.... Alongside the score cuts by John 5 & Griffin Boyce, there's Manfred Mann's "Blinded By The Light" and Rick James' "Give It To Me Baby" providing some FM flavor. And going further back, two classic cuts by The Velvet Underground. And if you need to get your prog rock on, Rush's seminal "Spirit Of The Radio" is here too. "The Lords Of Salem" soundtrack arrives on April 16th,...

Sure, so Rob Zombie may not be the best director around but some of his stuff isn’t too bad. He kind of butchered the Halloween series but when he works with his own material, the results are sometimes pretty decent. I, for one, loved The Devil’s Rejects and even House of 1000 Corpses and The Haunted World of El Superbeasto had their moments. The director’s newest film, The Lords of Salem, will once again find him working off his own material and today, we have a new trailer for the movie.
It looks like some pretty creepy stuff and it sets up the story pretty well, which revolves around a DJ (played by Sheri Moon Zombie) “who receives a musical gift that appears to have awoken a powerful coven of witches.” The eerie and striking trailer definitely has my attention and despite some moments that look a bit hokey,...

Whether you like the films of Rob Zombie or not, you can't argue that he always makes for a fascinating interview. I tend to fall in the camp that loves The Devil's Rejects, Zombie's second feature length film as a writer/director, and although I have mixed feelings on the other titles in his filmography, I still find them all to be intriguing projects worth revisiting. Next year's Lords Of Salem is already among one of my most anticipated genre titles of 2013. That said, when Mick Garris sat down with Zombie for his episode of Post Mortem, I was again stuck by how down to earth, straight forward and well spoken Zombie is, especially when it comes to discussing both his experiences as a filmmaker and his love of movies in general. We're representing his interview below in 5 parts which cover a myriad of topics.

Since making his feature directorial debut in 2003, Rob Zombie has stuck almost exclusively to the horror genre. With the exception of The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, an animated film that Zombie made in 2009, the filmmaker has stuck with his bread and butter, getting characters to chop each other up in all kinds of interesting ways. His next film, The Lords of Salem, will supposedly come out this year (no release date has been announced yet) and continues the trend, but what about Zombie's future. Apparently he's ready to make a right turn. Deadline has learned that Rob Zombie will direct Broad Street Bullies, a movie about the notoriously thuggish Philadelphia Flyers hockey team that came into being during the 1970s. The team was famous for playing the supposedly unbeatable Soviet Union team of the time, known as the Red Army. The Flyers ended up playing so violently that the...

Last week Kevin Smith held a live podcast and interactive Q&A in Toronto that was simulcast to movie theatres across North America called Kevin Smith: Live from Behind. As you might expect, the Q&A featured some new information about upcoming projects from Smith, one of which was his hockey movie Hit Somebody (which he plans to debut in hockey arenas across Canada), and the other was a brand new movie called Jay & Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie. Unbeknownst to me, there had been a brief mention of this film in the SModcast Pictures press release from last month, but it stated only that it would be "a blend of live action footage and R-rated animation." Smith confirmed this fact during Live From Behind, although he did not reveal a heck of a lot more. The details are still pretty scarce, but according to Smith, they...

While I dug the 2009 animated movie from Rob Zombie in The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, I didn’t think it was popular enough for a TV series. Apparently, that’s the case, according to Variety, although details are minimal at best.
A longtime pet project of Zombie (based on his comic book of the same name), The Haunted World of El Superbeasto is the twisted tale of El Superbeasto (voiced by Tom Papa), a former world-class masked wrestler with superhuman strength, who now finds himself in the very ordinary capacity as producer/director/star of BeastoWorld Enterprises. But when he can, Beasto spends time fighting evil along with his super-sexy sister, Suzi X (Sheri Moon Zombie), in the spooky Monsterland. Our hefty hero faces his biggest battle when he struggles to stop the unholy marriage of foul-mouthed stripper Velvet Von Black (Rosario Dawson) and the diabolical Dr. Satan (Paul Giamatti...

Well, here's a story we never expected to be reporting on. Anyone who has endured The Haunted World of El Superbeasto will no doubt be shocked to hear that we haven't seen the last of the demon fighting luchador.
According to Variety there's actually a TV adaptation of Rob Zombie's ill received 2009 animated feature in the works. Details are scant at the moment, but it's apparently happening. For better or for worse.

Within a Variety story about Rob Zombie's Woolite commercial , an interesting tidbit of news was dropped. The trade says Zombie is trying to get a Superbeasto television series off of the ground. This is, of course, based on the comic book character he created who also appeared In the 2009 DVD release The Haunted World of El Superbeasto , a raunchy, humorous adventure featuring the titular character and the monstrous world he lives in. He is also set to begin filming Lords of Salem later this year. If a Superbeasto series is being mulled over, it's possible that this is response to the animated film's DVD sales which I...

If you take away the anime genre, adult animation is scarce. Sure, we have titles like Heavy Metal, Rock & Rule, and TV shows like South Park, but outside of some Dtv films like Dead Space and The Haunted World of el Superbeasto, adult R-rated animation is a sub-genre that people rarely witness.
Let me present to you: Bad Penguin. Directed and produced by Tony White, a BAFTA award winning animator and author, Bad Penguin is the anti-Disney. The film follows Cooper, a blind jazz musician who befriends an angry, armed-to-the-teeth penguin that wishes to show Clover City how it feels about Christmas. In a world where a man’s life is worth less than the change in his pockets, can a blind man teach the bird that people and Christmas are both worthwhile?
The dark comedy is tapping former Pixar and Disney animators for the project, which will be very violent and persuasive.

Contemporary film fans probably think they have veteran actor Ken Foree all figured out. And how could they not? Best known for his work in some of the premier modern horror movies, Foree is a fright film favorite who's appeared in gory classics such as George Romero's Dawn of the Dead, Stuart Gordon's From Beyond and Rob Zombie's The Devil’s Rejects. So when they hear Foree's next role is in the film adaptation of Water for Elephants (opening April 22), the best-selling historical novel about a young man who runs off to join the circus, filmgoers can be forgiven for exclaiming, "Wha—?"
What most people don't realize is that Foree has paid his dues and done a lot of work in areas other than horror. Foree's first film was The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings, the 1976 sports comedy starring Billy Dee Williams, James Earl Jones and Richard Pryor.
