For years, Kevin Hart has long been one of Hollywood’s most beloved comedians, known for his stand-up, acting roles, and massive social media presence. With the star even teaming up with Chris Rock for his latest documentary, Kevin Hart & Chris Rock: Headliners Only, the 45-year-old once again made waves. However, in recent months, another celebrity has let loose a strange theory online, claiming that the comedian is actually an “industry plant.” The term is typically reserved for musicians who are allegedly groomed by major labels for success.

One of the most vocal proponents of this theory is Katt Williams, who has been outspoken in his criticism of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, linking both Hart’s rise and Diddy’s influence into a much larger conspiracy about power, fame, and the entertainment industry.

During his Acting My Tour last month, Kevin Hart touched on his years-long feud with Michael Jordan, which he first addressed back in 2016. However, this isn’t the lone high-profile beef Hart has found himself in the last ten years, as he also exchanged jabs with Katt Williams.
While it kickstarted back in 2014 when the Norbit star took shots at Hart, things de-escalated between them back in 2016, when Williams came forward to apologize for his comments, However, it didn’t take long for the beef to reignite, and recently, Hart has broken his silence on it.

Metro Boomin warned us before he and Future dropped We Don’t Trust You: “Pick a side.”
As J. Cole has learned over the past 12 hours, anyone not firmly on one side of the Drake and Kendrick Lamar divide is liable to get caught in the crossfire. Plot: Jaycen “Two Js” Jennings is a washed-up ex-professional football star who has hit rock bottom. When Jaycen is sentenced to community service coaching the Underdoggs, an unruly pee-wee football team in his hometown of Long Beach, California, he sees it as an opportunity to rebuild his public image and turn his life around. As Jaycen works to transform the foul-mouthed Underdoggs into top-notch champions, he reconnects with his past, including an old flame and a few of his ex-teammates, and rediscovers his love of the game.
Review: Underdog stories have always been popular fodder for movies. Redemption stories about athletes and tales of scrappy kids needing a mentor are equally popular. From The Bad News Bears to Little Giants and The Mighty Ducks, sports comedies have always found success. With The Underdoggs, that appeal is tested by taking the formula that made those aforementioned films successful and injecting them...

Summer isn’t over yet but HBO and its streaming arm Max are already moving on to fall. With its list of new releases for August 2023, Max is focusing on football! The American kind, mind you, not the actually footy kind.
August 2023 sees the release of two major football documentaries on HBO and Max. The first is the premiere of Hard Knocks on Aug. 10. The new season of long-running NFL training camp docuseries will center on the New York Jets, new employers of legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers. On Aug. 23, Max will air the aptly named Bs High. The doc tells the stranger-than-fiction story of high school football team Bishop Sycamore, which pulled off one of the more notable sports scams you’re likely to ever hear about.
Not of the football variety but in keeping with the North American sports theme will be season 2 of Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty on Aug.

A new year means a new start. But in its list of new year releases for January 2021, Hulu is sending a message of…eh, we’ll get the year started in February. Not to be overly rude to the usually sturdy streaming service, but there’s not much going on for Hulu in 2021’s first month.
Perhaps the biggest release of note is something that already enjoyed a successful release for ITV in the U.K. The Sister is the lates thriller from Neil Cross (Luther) and it makes its U.S. debut on Hulu on Jan. 22. 2020 comedies Save Yourselves and Like a Boss both arrive on Jan. 1. Hulu is kicking off the new year in style next month, with January set to deliver a ton of fresh titles to the Disney-owned streaming service. There’s a bunch of original content landing throughout the first few weeks of 2021, but probably the highlight is the incredible number of classic movies that are going up on the site on New Year’s Day. Whether you’re in the mood for iconic comedies, dramas, animated efforts or sci-fi flicks, there’s something for you on the way.
There are well over 100 films being added to Hulu’s library on January 1st, so let’s just pick out a few notable titles. The full Austin Powers trilogy is among them, and if you can’t get enough of Mike Myers, the first Shrek likewise becomes available. For dramas, there’s Robert Downey Jr. biopic Chaplin, Johnny Depp vehicle Donnie Brasco and Jim Carrey’s The Truman Show.

Now that we’re self-isolating at home to help defeat the Covid-19 pandemic, this may be the perfect opportunity to catch up on things that have been in our Netflix watchlist for a long while.
The novel coronavirus, a mutated strand from the family of coronaviruses, originated from Wuhan, China late last year, but currently, every single country in the world is battling the outbreak. As of now, more than 714,000 people have contracted the disease and 33,617 have passed away due to severe cases of acute respiratory syndrome. In the Us alone, more than 139,000 patients have been identified and approximately 158 million people are under lockdown across all 50 states. While the ramifications of the Covid-19 may have dealt the world of economics an unprecedented blow, business models like Netflix have profited from people spending more time at home with little to do.

On the eve of March 24th, when Disney+ is expected to expand across the United Kingdom and various parts of Europe, we have compiled the definitive list of new content headed to the streaming platform and its three key competitors – namely Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu.

The streaming service may see its highest viewing figures of all time this month, with millions having nothing better to do but lay on the couch and hoover up some premium TV and movies.

As the show prepares to close its sixth and final season in February, Starz has announced Clifford “Method Man” Smith will be joining the “Power” prequel, “Power Book 2: Ghost,” starring opposite Mary J. Blige. The network also released a first look image of the rapper’s character in the upcoming series.
As creator and co-showrunner Courtney A. Kemp previously announced, the new project will “continue the journey of some of ‘Power’s’ most controversial characters.” The forthcoming series serves as one of several developing installments in the “Power” franchise as part of Kemp’s overall deal with network parent company, Lionsgate.
The former WuTang Clan member will play Davis Maclean, a sharp and ethically challenged attorney who falls into the fictional murderous and drug-riddled world run by Blige’s character. Though, its soon revealed that the lawyer with a passion for winning has a few secrets of his own.

Doritos has a new flavor: Doritos® Flamin’ Hot® Nacho. Instead of rolling the new chip out in a reasonable manner, a marketing team decided to play millennial musical Mad Libs to the tune of (presumably) millions of dollars. The result is Chance the Rapper remixing The Backstreet Boys’ classic “I Want It That Way” into a dreadful piece of advertising disguised as a sickly sweet nostalgia cocktail for the Rap Caviar set.

When BlackTree TV CEO and executive producer Jamaal Finkley sought opportunities to talk with “Girls Trip” talent prior to the film’s July 2017 release, he ran into an alarming roadblock. After submitting a request to cover the junket, he received an email from a Universal Pictures representative: “‘Girls Trip’ will be hard as we don’t have that many slots for AA,” meaning African-Americans.
Finkley, who shared the emails with IndieWire, replied to the studio: “You don’t have that many slots for AA for ‘Girls Trip’?! I don’t get it. Really. Makes no sense. What movie does have extra AA slots? … If I send a white person, will you have a slot?”
Today, Finkley still finds the exchange unsettling. BlackTree TV has over 226,000 YouTube subscribers, with more than 1 billion video views. “Designating us as limited because of the color of our skin and not because of the reach of our outlet,...

Remember back when Black Panther hit theaters and we were certain that it’d reveal the location of the Soul Stone ahead of Avengers: Infinity War? Well, it turned out we were all wrong, as the movie was mostly standalone and the last of the Infinity Stones was later revealed to be in the care of Red Skull on the planet Vormir.
A new fan theory, however, suggests that Black Panther might have a connection to the Soul Stone after all. Reddit user Jaustin40 has put forward the idea that the Vibranium meteor which crashed into Wakanda in ancient times, enriching the land with valuable metal and giving the flora remarkable powers, was actually a piece of Vormir. This could explain why the spiritual plane seen in the film resembles Soul World.
Here’s how the theorist put it:

We examine the recent Val Kilmer movies, that happened to have bypasses cinemas...
Once upon a time, Val Kilmer’s individual look - defined by a little Swedish blood from his mother’s side - had hearts pumping. Those looks, along with his arrogant, edgy attitude and acting style, helped him clinch plenty of complimentary roles during the 80s and early-90s. Films like Top Secret, Top Gun, Willow and my personal favourite Real Genius were pushing him toward a stellar career back then, and his star was steadily rising.
See also: a closer look at what may be Val Kilmer's weirdest film
But Kilmer came down from a serious high of Heat and Tombstone in the mid-90s when he signed on to the notorious clusterfuck that was The Island Of Dr. Moreau, and only recently has the part he played in its disastrous production come to light.

Several years ago I attended a panel which though wasn’t about film did have as one of the panelists Jessy Terrero the director of Soul Plane. Needless to say, he tried to defend his film as being a misunderstood satire. The audience for the most part wasn’t having it, but he tried anyway. I think it’s safe to say that Soul Plane is considered one of the true nadirs of black cinema. If you squint your eyes and strain hard enough you can kind of see what they had in mind - a sort of wild satire commenting and upending every black stereotype that you can think of. But the film, about a guy who uses the millions he won in a lawsuit against a flight company to create his...

At least, that.s what filmmaker Lee Daniels told her over the phone. The Precious director called her up about six or seven months ago, by her own estimations, and told her this. An Oscar-winning actress is an exceptional artist no matter what shade, race or ethnicity she represents. For the sake of this written piece we will concentrate on those actresses of color whose achievement in cinema (and ultimate success of capturing the golden statuette) has made them revered commodities in the motion picture industry.
For some of these minority Oscar-winning actresses being spotlighted they have either excelled at their craft early in their careers or may have enjoyed limited success in the aftermath of their glory. Whatever the case it remains certain that these feminine recipients of Academy Award distinction left a legacy on the big screen in a capacity that cannot be taken away or dismissed.

Chicago – Sequels just need a dose of energy and creativity, and then they work. The cast of “Think Like a Man Too” – including Kevin Hart, Regina Hall and Terrence Jenkins – provide that energy, as the gang from the first film heads to Las Vegas for a competing bachelor and bachelorette parties. The audience wins that contest.
Kevin Hart is arguably one of the hottest performers of the moment. Fresh from his record breaking stand-up film of last year, he hit a trifecta in late 2013 and early 2014 with the films “Grudge Match,” “Ride Along” and “About Last Night.” His quick wit and energy also has the character of appreciation, for the collaborator and director Tim Story, and his co-stars Terrence Jenkins and Regina Hall.

Has it actually been ten years already since we have been engaged in the realm of films dating back to 2004? A decade is certainly a long period of time to build our appreciation for cinema up until this critical point in 2014. In looking back at 2004, one can recall fondly some of the more desirable releases to come out at that time. For instance, the superb Million Dollar Baby was the Academy Award-winning film for 2004. Even the comedies that were released that year gave movie audiences cause to rejoice with such ditties as the sleeper indie hit Napoleon Dynamite and well as mainstream laughers in Mean Girls and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy.
Unfortunately for every gem there is a dud and then some. And 2004 had its share to say the least. So how about getting nostalgic and recalling some of the notable misses that were heaped on misled moviegoers...

Through films like Flightplan, Soul Plane, and White House Down, it has taken over a decade for Hollywood to arrive at Non-Stop.
Showing the vitality of Liam Neeson carrying a gun and a broken heart, Non-Stop recently gave the new action hero one of his biggest box office weekends so far. Involving an air marshal using a particular set of skills to hunt and kill someone threatening his plane (to paraphrase Taken), the film may seem like a generic Neeson actioner. But while his character might be a composite of previous roles, the anxiety he tackles within this film is fresh. Considering its box office success (and my mother’s intense experience in watching the movie), Non-Stop works efficiently as a thriller in 2014 because it provides viewers with imagery of in-flight chaos not seen since before 9/11. It is also the indication of a natural progression for how Hollywood films are...

This Valentine’s Day the remake of the classic romantic comedy, About Last Night descends on theaters. The film, from director Steve Pink (Hot Tub Time Machine), is more of a reimagining of the 1986 and actually has more in common with the David Mamet play Sexual Perversity in Chicago on which both films are based. You know the stars that land a big role almost immediately after getting to Hollywood? The ones that steadily ride an upward trajectory from bit parts to starring roles in indies to starring roles in studio films to A-list status? Think Tom Cruise. Think Jennifer Lawrence. Absolutely, under no circumstances think Kevin Hart. Ten years ago at the tender age of twenty-four, he nabbed the starring role in Soul Plane. And it bombed. Terribly. It didn.t even make its sixteen million dollar budget back. A failure before he even began, he was basically written off by the studios and forced to start from scratch, shackled with a reputation that he wasn.t mainstream enough to carry a movie. So, over the last decade, Hart has slowly climbed his way back to the top. This weekend, he and Ice Cube are set to topline Ride Along, and in case if...

If you’re familiar with Almoldovar, this film is likely to play for you better than for the uninitiated, if at least for the sake of being aware of his dramatic style and recurring themes. This movie could be a cult classic, but only within the cult of people who follow Almoldovar, and will watch anything he makes.

Inspired by recent conversations I had with friends, and myself (yes, I converse with myself from time to time), I wondered if what I would call our conditioned classist thoughts...
