Rather Bland Short Feature
One of many films of the era that were primarily based on one gag or idea, "Love By The Light of the Moon" is a bland feature of only fair quality, though the general tone of it is congenial enough. The main joke is at least set up with some timing and pacing, but it is just not funny enough to make it especially satisfying, nor is the rest of the movie particularly interesting.
The story starts with a romantic couple enjoying their time in the moonlight, and then goes on to show the reactions to some unexpected developments. The ideas in themselves were rather insipid, which limited what anyone could have gotten out of this material. There are some visual effects, which work all right, but which were really nothing that special even for the era. Overall, it's just a bland, inoffensive little picture.
