Drama/thriller set in marvelous region of Andalucia dealing with an interminable and relentless pursuit . It packs drama , emotion , action , violent events but also some brief elements of humor . Interesting movie with nice performance by Laia Marull and extraordinary support cast as Juan Diego , Maria Galiana , Silvia Espigado , among others . Born in a miserable barrio , Tony (Laia Marull) has a sweetheart called Juanjo (Olmedo) , and two pals , a quirky pair formed by Maxi (Miguel Hermoso Arnau , director's son) , who is obsessed with martial arts , and Moco (Roberto Cairo), a terminal druggie . They all decide to rob a Lottery Administration in Madrid . But Juanjo has another scheme : he's going to double-cross his two colleagues and getaway with Tony and the cash . Both of them begin their escape to the South with the excuse of taking Laura (Beatriz Colonel) , Juanjo's seven year old niece and prostitute (Silvia Espigado)'s daughter , to see her father (Juan Diego) , a flamenco singer . But at the beginning of the journey , with Maxi , Moco and the police on their trail , Tony is deceived by her fiancé who disappears with the loot , leaving her and Laura in a dismal road side restaurant . With their pursuers close behind them , Tony and Laura are forced to keep running . In the course of their journey , the initial distrust between them will become into a marvelous mother-daughter relationship .
From start to finish this moving film contains drama , intrigue , thrills , a wonderful and deep friendship and a lot of Flamenco songs . Nice film , though overlong and has a few gaps , but anyway, its is compensated with the great performances from Laia Marull as a sensitive girl who hides behind the image of a tough woman , Juan Diego as a selfish singer and Maria Galiana as an old spinster , interpreters who provided a considerable boost to the result . This is a thriller/drama that keeps you interested and expecting , including a tragic familiar relationship . Laia Marull and the newcomer little girl named Beatriz Colonel star in the sort of story we've seen sometime before , a young newly betrayed escapes , while other people seek reckoning , but one that is always fun when executed with style and filmmaker Miguel Hermoso certainly seems to have that . Acceptable Spanish film with top-notch performances from main cast as well as secondary cast who includes notorious actors as Roberto Cairo , Silvia Espigado , Santiago Ramos , Antonio Dechent , among others . Emotive as well as evocative musical score by Antonio Meliveo , including Flamenco songs sung by Niña Pastori and many others . Colorful cinematography by Tote Trenas , reflecting splendidly outdoors and cities from Andalucia , such as Carmona, Sevilla , Caños De Meca, Chipiona, Algeciras , Cádiz, Puente Genil, Córdoba, Puerto Santa María, Tarifa, Cádiz .
The motion picture was well directed by Miguel Hermoso , being filmed in his usual formal and stylistic scholarship , without leaving a trace the thought-provoking issues , in terms of dramatic and narrative excitement . Miguel Hermoso is an expert on comedy as proved in ¨Loco Veneno¨, ¨Truanes¨ , ¨Marbella¨ and drama such as ¨Como Un Relampago¨, the biopic ¨Lola¨, ¨Luz Prodigiosa¨ and his greatest hit was this ¨Fugitivas¨ . Rating : 7 , good movie . The picture will appeal to thriller/drama aficionados .
