This Valentine’s Day, we’re celebrating some of our favorite couples.
All American’s Spencer James and Olivia Baker are among the better-written younger couples in recent history. They had instant chemistry, but it took time to become close friends.
Fans endured almost three seasons of push-pull moments until the couple finally kissed during All American Season 3.
(Troy Harvey/The CW )
Things were never easy for these two as Olivia’s reporter dreams and Spencer’s NFL goals sometimes clashed. But that’s what made it so rewarding when they reunited after Olivia’s year abroad.
As they matured, they learned what really matured was their love for one another and how to balance both of their dreams.
(Troy Harvey/The CW) Spencer and Olivia’s Dreams Changed Throughout the Years
Something pulled me into Spencer and Olivia right from the start. While I adored their sizzling chemistry, I appreciated their close bond more.

Katee Sackhoff wants to join Star Trek, and she should to complete her perfect sci-fi hat trick. Sackhoff became a sci-fi icon when she was cast as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace in Sci-Fi Channel's 2003 reboot of Battlestar Galactica, which was created by legendary Star Trek writer Ronald D. Moore. In 2012, Katee jumped the galaxy far, far away when she voiced Bo-Katan Kryze in Star Wars: The Clone Wars before embodying Bo-Katan in live-action in The Mandalorian season 2. Incredibly, Sackhoff has not been in Star Trek... yet.
Since Star Trek's rebirth on Paramount+, the various Star Trek series have scored multiple casting coups, starting with Jason Isaacs and Academy Award-winner Michelle Yeoh headlining Star Trek: Discovery season 1. Michelle Hurd and Allison Pill joined the cast of Star Trek: Picard while Jack Quaid became one of the leads of Star Trek: Lower Decks, and even played Ensign Brad Boimler in live-action on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

TV’s production cycle just ain’t what it used to be, and creator Jason Katims is feeling nostalgic.
You can’t blame him: When Katims spoke with Variety recently, the topic was the 25th anniversary of his teen drama “Roswell,” which had been intended for Fox but ended up on The CW predecessor The WB.
Katims waxed poetic about the days when May’s TV upfronts actually mattered.
“Back in those days, it was this mad scramble where things could change drastically in a matter of hours,” Katims said. “At the time, I thought this was such an absurd system. Now I long for it, because you knew right then whether your show was going to go ahead, and you had to immediately get into production to get it on the air and put something in those time slots.”

Netflix just released the fifth volume of Unsolved Mysteries, and episode 4 tells the true story of the Roswell UFO incident. In July 1947, there were multiple reports of a potential UFO sighting, but it did not become a worldwide phenomenon until the 1980s when Major Jesse Marcel, the man who took responsibility for the recovered debris, decided to reveal the truth about the incident. The show initially covered the Roswell incident in the original Unsolved Mysteries, but there have been significant updates in the last 35 years, prompting additional coverage of the sensational case.
The Roswell UFO incident has sparked a cultural movement that resulted in many works of fiction, including the popular TV show Roswell and the 2019 reboot, Roswell, New Mexico. Although many consider the incident solved because of the Roswell Reports released in the 1990s, many more believe the case is still cold because the government is covering it up.

Frakes directing debut was Tng season 3, episode 16, "The Offspring," which focused on Lt. Commander Data (Brent Spiner) and his attempt to create a child. With its compelling premise and heartbreaking ending, "The Offspring" remains one of the most highly-praised episodes of Tng.

We've all been there before.
You fall in love with a show. You fall in love with the characters. You fall in love with a Universe. And then, suddenly, without warning, your favorite show is canceled, and you feel a tremendous loss.
Television can be a comfort to many, and when you find that show or that perfect character that you connect with, it downright sucks to know you won't get to see them anymore.
Over the years, many shows have been cut short ahead of their time.
While others may have had a decent run, with years under their belt, the cancellation can still feel abrupt, especially when they don't get to end the series on their own terms.
We've seen fan campaigns change studios' minds and cancellations reversed at the last minute (S.W.A.T. says hi!), but unfortunately, most shows don't have that same luck.

As someone who is obsessed with Ufos (or more recently known as UAPs) and the concept of extraterrestrials, I love a good documentary. Sightings have been on the rise since the 1940s, with the atomic bomb seemingly acting as a catalyst for new visitors. But what are these UFOs/UAPs? Is there an explanation or are they simply beyond our explanation? Why are they here? Who are they? How much do our governments know? The questions are endless and so are the documentaries that attempt to uncover the secrets behind decades of sightings and alleged confrontations.
Whether you’re a seasoned viewer or new to the rabbit hole, there’s always a handful of interesting documentaries to get your neurons firing and leave you with sleepless nights. Screambox is investigating with the addition of several docs, all streaming now on the Bloody Disgusting-powered service. Here’s the breakdown:

After Danny Cron graduated from the California Institute of Arts in 2018, he did exactly what his instructors at the Valencia school recommended: he booked showcases in hopes of finding his first big acting gig.
But when the representation didn’t materialize and the roles remained unattainable, he was at a loss over what to do next. “I’m from Santa Fe, New Mexico. My mom was a teacher, my dad was a lawyer. I could not be further removed from this industry,” said the 29-year-old Cron. “You think, why am I not there yet? What’s going on? It’s almost like a scarcity mindset, or at least for me, a sense of panic. Because it’s really scary and intimidating to be out here. It can be very alluring when you find programs that claim they’re going to take care of all of it for you.”

Francis Ford Coppola's bleak Vietnam War picture "Apocalypse Now" is not only one of the best films of 1979, but is handily one of the finest, most important films of its decade. Using Joseph Conrad's 1899 novella "Heart of Darkness" as a template, Copolla transposed the book's action from the late 1800s Congo to the jungles of Cambodia, and, in so doing, exposed the madness and horror of the Vietnam War in harrowing, soul-hollowing terms. As Captain Willars (Martin Sheen) treks deeper and deeper into the chaos of the natural world -- drifting ever closer to the insane, cult-founding rogue Colonel Kurtz (Marlon Brando) -- reality begins to dissipate. Eventually, madness and violence are all that remain, and war is reduced to its base function: brazen, meaningless destruction and cruelty. "Apocalypse Now" is a great, great film.
Curiously, a lot of war enthusiasts love "Apocalypse Now," seemingly ignoring the film's...

"The Twilight Zone" isn't any old kind of zone. It's a bizarre place where anything can happen. Aliens can invade at any moment, William Shakespeare can get a job as a Hollywood ghostwriter. Heck, the creator of the series, Rod Serling, even got killed by his own creations once. The limits are only those of the human imagination, which are damn near infinite, except maybe without the words "damn near."
Yes, sometimes "The Twilight Zone" shows us things we never expected to see, which are hard to describe without making it seem like you're the one making it up. This is especially true for the less-popular, but still sometimes great reboots, which in the 1980s, early 2000s, and late 2010s allowed a whole new generation of actors, writers, and filmmakers to play in Rod Serling's unusual sandbox. When Paramount launched CBS All Access in 2017, the service's flagship show was "Star Trek: Discovery," the first new Trek series to air since the cancellation of "Star Trek: Enterprise" in 2005. It was a reason to celebrate, but also a source of skepticism. Some were happy to see "Star Trek" updated for the streaming age and appreciated the franchise's shift to something more violent and incidental. Others bristled at the sloppy writing, the poor characterization, and the showrunner's bend away from the stodgy intellectualism that is Trekkies' bread and butter. "Discovery" has been a sticking point among Trekkies ever since its debut; one needn't look too far to find arguments online over its quality.
In 2020, CBS All Access debuted "Star Trek: Picard," a series that followed up on one of the main characters from "Star Trek: The Next Generation" several decades later. It, too, was a source of fan controversy, likewise...

One of the issues at the heart of the WGA strike continues to be mini-rooms and the impact they’ve had — and could continue to have — on television shows. But, as WGA members who spoke with TheWrap note, the rooms have an emotional impact on writers, too.
A mini-room is a practice in which a television creator assembles a writers’ room to create multiple scripts — sometimes even an entire season’s worth — for a show, often before the title has even been greenlit. With these scripts in hand, a network or streamer will make a decision as to whether or not the show is good enough to go on.

It was announced back in March of 2023 that the upcoming fifth season of "Star Trek: Discovery" would be its last. This marks the end of an era, as Paramout+ -- back when it was called CBS All Access -- launched with the premiere of "Discovery" in 2017. Meanwhile, the third and final season of "Star Trek: Picard" wrapped earlier this year, "Star Trek: Prodigy" will end after its upcoming second season, and the extant episodes have been pulled from the service entirely. The glut of new "Star Trek" is now seemingly at an end.
"Discovery" has struggled its whole life. It infamously abandoned the traditional episodic structure of "Star Trek," skewing toward the more popular, modern full-season story arcs. It also drastically redesigned the franchise, including new technologies and reworked aliens that looked nothing like what came before. "Discovery" was also far more violent than Trek had ever been, featuring regular murders at the hands of,...

Sci-fi TV shows like The X-Files and Roswell offer a unique and creative exploration of UFO sightings, focusing on the human emotions behind these phenomena. Shows like 3rd Rock From The Sun and Mork & Mindy provide comedic and thoughtful perspectives on extraterrestrial life, examining human behavior through the eyes of aliens. Fargo Season 2 and Project Blue Book offer intriguing UFO-centric narratives that blend history and fiction, making them must-watches for UFO enthusiasts.
The search for UFOs has been at the center of many iconic sci-fi TV shows, perhaps due to the endless fascination with these otherworldly phenomena. While documentaries about aliens and UFO sightings are heavily abundant, sci-fi shows on such subjects are relatively more niche. Interest in such shows is bound to resurface with new revelations, like a former Air Force intelligence officer accusing the U.S. of concealing a multi-decade program on UFOs. Still, shows like The X-Files,...

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers from Season 2 of “The Summer I Turned Pretty.”
The teen drama isn’t a new genre — it’s been around for decades. But on television, the offerings have been lacking in recent years, with shows feeling pressure to add something more — usually in the from of a supernatural creature — than just relationship-based storytelling. Many shows appear to be afraid to do just that, despite the fact that it’s what The WB (Rip) and The CW (Rip x2) were built on. The word “ship” started circulating more on social media during “The Vampire Diaries,” which thrived when it leaned into Stelena, Delena, Klaroline, etc., rather than the bloodsucking. Years later, the remake of “Roswell” succeeded most when Malex’s growing love was examined, rather than the aliens in town.
Then there’s Netflix’s “Outer Banks,” which began as a coming-of-age teen drama about...

An original member of the Riverdale cast is officially returning for the show's final season. The live-action Archie adaptation has seen seven seasons, multiple spin-offs, and more adventures than its cast ever could have expected. As the show continues to race toward its season finale, yet another member of the cast is set to make her return before it's all over.
Ashleigh Murray, who plays Josie McCoy, is an original cast member of Riverdale but left the series after season 3. She went on to star in the now-canceled spin-off Katy Keene, and she has only occasionally returned to the world of Riverdale since. A new press release by The CW, however, indicates that Murray will be making another appearance in season 7, episode 17. The episode — titled "Chapter One Hundred Thirty-Four: A Different Kind of Cat" and airing on August 2 — will see Josie showing off her new film, alongside Veronica (Camila Mendes...

The CW is bringing even more live sports onto the network. The network was put on the market in early 2022 after its parent company alleged that it had never made a profit since its creation. It was eventually bought by the Texas-based company Nexstar, who announced their intention to only retain very few existing scripted shows after the 2022-2023 season, spending the next few months canceling a raft of series that included Legacies, The Winchesters, Gotham Knights, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, among many others.

The Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley has shared his candid thoughts about appearing on the long-running series. He starred in all 171 episodes of the CW series, which ran for eight seasons between 2009 and 2017. He played Stefan Salvatore, the younger brother of Ian Somerhalder's Damon Salvatore who falls in love with human girl Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and eventually enters a vicious love triangle between her and Damon.
In a recent interview with InStyle, Wesley reflected on his time as a member of the Vampire Diaries cast. He revealed that not only would he never want to return to the role of Stefan, he "would never do another vampire anything, period." While he expresses his appreciation for the role, which is still his most popular, "eight years is a long time" and he hopes future roles will help separate him from the iconic character.
