The end credits states, "A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO: The New York City Police Department, for their unstinting cooperation and invaluable help throughout every part of this production" In The Making of Terror Firmer, it shows the police clashing with the production on several instances (one of which involved the police revoking the crew's filming permit).
Based on Lloyd Kaufman's book All I Need To Know About Filmmaking I Learned From The Toxic Avenger. Also, many scenes and characters are references to real events and people on Troma sets.
This movie is also known as "One giant Tribute to all Troma films" as this film has many similarities to other Troma movies. Some actors with small parts in this movie were the leading characters in other Troma movies.
