Navin Nischol managed to sign a solo lead film opposite Reena Roy during his career downfall in the late 70's. He was always grateful for to the producer's for signing him opposite Reena Roy who was quickly becoming a huge star .
When the film was announced, Amol Palekar was in the film. He was replaced by Shekhar Kapur.
