This is a typical John Baxter film.He uses many plot threads used in other of his films.He features down and outs who band together to each other for the common good.In this film a rector deserts his parish because of malicious gossip.He finds comfort with down and outs in a doss house in the East End.A very young Eric Portman goes hunting for him and eventually finds him.He helps the men who are fighting a crooked shipping gang.There is a long sequence with some turns in a music hall.There is also a nightclub sequence featuring Jack Jackson and his orchestra.Many familiar actors feature including Bransby Williams.incidentally.the film lasts 68 minutes.
