ABC’s High Potential episode six opens with a young woman named Sam waking up in her boss’ office, hungover with no idea what happened the night before. It looks like the office has been trashed, but that’s not the worst of it. Nope, not by a long shot. Sam’s boss, Elaine, is lying dead on the floor in a pool of blood.
Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) is in the middle of a little spring cleaning when Detective Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata) calls requesting her presence at Metkair TechCorp. The company leases the entire floor, and last night they hosted a party celebrating the launch of a new product. The murder victim is Founder and CEO Elaine Barton who was killed with her Female Innovator of the Year Award. A video on a loop reveals...

David Schwimmer revealed the reason why he turned down Will Smith‘s role in Men In Black back in 1997.
While on Cush Jumbo‘s Origins podcast, he was asked if he turned it down because of the Friends production schedule, he said, “That’s not why I turned it down.”
Keep reading to find out more…
He then explained, “[It] was a brutal decision. I had just finished filming The Pallbearer, my first film with Gwyneth Paltrow, and there were high expectations of that which didn’t come true. It was kind of a bomb but there were high expectations and the studio which was Miramax wanted to lock me into a three-picture deal at a fixed price and I said I would do that if I got to direct my first movie. Actor David Schwimmer recently discussed a pivotal career choice he made in the late 1990s. He had to pick between taking on a major role in the sci-fi blockbuster “Men in Black” or pursuing his dream of becoming a director. Schwimmer chose to direct his first film instead of starring alongside Will Smith. In hindsight, Schwimmer questions if that was the right call.
At the time, Schwimmer had just finished his role in the 1996 comedy “The Pallbearer.” He was ready to direct “Since You’ve Been Gone,” a movie featuring performers from his Chicago theater company. However, Schwimmer was also offered the starring role in “Men in Black,” which was set to start filming during his break from “Friends.”
This presented Schwimmer with a difficult decision. All of his theater friends had quit their jobs to act in “Since You’ve Been Gone.” Schwimmer felt committed to making his directorial debut with them.

David Schwimmer can’t help but wonder how different his life would have been as Agent D.
The Friends alum recalled the “brutal decision” of turning down a role in 1997’s Men in Black, which ultimately starred Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, as he questioned if he “made the right choice” in passing up the franchise.
He explained on the Origins with Cush Jumbo podcast that the opportunity came after his role alongside Gwyneth Paltrow in 1996’s The Pallbearer, which paved the way for his 1998 directorial debut Since You’ve Been Gone, featuring actors from his Lookingglass Theatre Company.
“There were high expectations of that, which didn’t come true,” he said of The Pallbearer. “It was kind of a bomb. But there were high expectations and the studio, which was Miramax, wanted to lock me into a three-picture deal at a fixed price and I said I would do...

David Schwimmer recently said on the “Origins with Cush Jumbo” podcast that he’s well aware how different his career would have been had he not rejected the offer to lead 1997’s “Men in Black.” The actor’s popularity was skyrocketing at the time as he was a few seasons into “Friends.” He decided to direct his own movie instead of acting in “Men in Black.”

In an alternate timeline somewhere, "Men in Black" may have led to the blockbuster leading man career of "Friends" star David Schwimmer instead of Oscar-winner Will Smith. Stories about Schwimmer's near-casting in the first "Men in Black" film have been around for years. However, during his appearance this week on the podcast "Origins With Cush Jumbo" (via The Hollywood Reporter), Schwimmer explained more fully why he ended up picking a different project over the hit sci-fi action-comedy.
"[It] was a brutal decision," the actor admitted to Jumbo, noting that a lot more went into his decision to decline the Agent J role than his tight "Friends" shooting schedule. "I had just finished filming 'The Pallbearer,' my first film with Gwyneth Paltrow, and there were high expectations of that which didn't come true," Schwimmer told the host with a laugh. David Schwimmer shares that he turned down the chance to star in the original Men in Black movie. The first film in the sci-fi series starred Will Smith as Agent J and Tommy Lee Jones as Agent K, and was released in 1997. During that time, Schwimmer was starring in the beloved 1990s sitcom Friends, playing Ross Geller. According to Schwimmer, he chose to turn down the role so that he could focus on directing.
While appearing on the podcast Origins with Cush Jumbo (via IndieWire), Schwimmer talked about choosing to direct a movie over starring in Men in Black. According to Schwimmer, after starring in Miramax's 1996 film The Pallbearer, the studio wanted him to agree to a three-picture deal at a fixed price. The actor was told that if he agreed to the deal, he would be able to direct his first film, which was Since You've Been Gone.

David Schwimmer doesn’t regret turning down Men in Black, however, he acknowledges his “career would have taken a very different trajectory” if he starred in the 1997 film.
When asked on a recent episode of the Origins With Cush Jumbo podcast if he passed on the blockbuster franchise due to conflicts with his Friends filming schedule, the actor responded, “That’s not why I turned it down.” He instead chose to direct his first feature film.
“[It] was a brutal decision,” Schwimmer admitted. “I had just finished filming The Pallbearer, my first film with Gwyneth Paltrow, and there were high expectations of that which didn’t come true (Laughs). Friends star David Schwimmer could have led the cast of one of the most popular movies of the 1990s. Unfortunately, the timing of the offer couldn't have been worse, and Schwimmer just didn't feel right accepting the role.
Per IndieWire, Schwimmer opened up about the role that got away during Sony Music Entertainment's "Origins with Cush Jumbo" podcast. He confirmed that he was approached about starring in Men in Black, the sci-fi action film that starred Will Smith alongside Tommy Lee Jones. The problem was that the offer came along right when Schwimmer was planning to shoot Since You've Been Gone, his directorial debut movie. Schwimmer declined Men in Black as a result, and while the celebrated movie would go on to reach high over $589 million worldwide, Since You've Been Gone was relegated to a television release after plans to screen the film in theaters fell through.

Once upon a time, David Schwimmer was offered the leading role in Men in Black. He turned it down. Will Smith wound up taking on the role, and the film helped propel him to superstar status while Schwimmer was left toiling in one of the most popular sitcoms of all time.
While speaking on the Origins with Cush Jumbo podcast (thanks to IndieWire), Schwimmer reflected on turning down Men in Black and explained why he made the choice he did. The actor was in the midst of starring in Friends at the time, but he would have been able to fit in Men in Black during his summer hiatus. Instead, he chose to honour his commitment to what would become his feature directorial debut.

While both ‘Skin’ and ‘Substance’ failed to crack the Billboard Hot 100, the songs made waves on the Hot Rock and Alternative Songs Chart where they peaked at No. 13 and No. 37, respectively.
Released as a promotional single just two days before the album’s release, ’29’ quickly resonated with fans across the world with its careful articulation of grooming in relationships.

In last weeks episode of Ru Paul’s Drag Race All-Stars, we said goodbye to Eureka after the queens had to design and create a new animated character to add to the drag tots. I enjoyed that the idea of school and toddler was embedded into most of the sections of the episode and I did think the idea of having to stand on the runway while a voiceover explains your story was a little awkward/uncomfortable. It was that lip-sync between Ra’jah and Kameron Michaels that people are still talking about though… There has been a lot of people online who were very disappointed with the lip-sync song and it is clear that Kameron was not proud of her performance either. Regardless, Kameron won and sent home Eureka (who were famously very close friends on their original season) but we couldn’t get rid of Eureka for very...

Young Stephanie (Zelda Espenschied) is utterly alone. It doesn’t matter that she lives with her parents (Freya Kreutzkam’s Mom and Bernd Wolf’s Reinhardt) because their physical presence pales in comparison to their emotional absence. And nothing will ever change. It can’t. Stephanie’s mother is too far lost in the past to think about the girl’s childhood when memories of her parents keep her forever longing for the childhood she herself wasn’t afforded. Stephanie’s father is conversely too busy living in the present to worry about anyone else as more than obstacles with which to combat on a personal road towards contentment. They both know it’s not a perfect home to raise a child in, but it’s all they can muster. They embrace stagnancy in lieu of happiness.
That doesn’t mean Stephanie wants out, though. Writer/director Sabrina Mertens understands...

With over two decades of work under her belt, Wanda Sykes has found that being a multi-hyphenate artist certainly allows for a diverse and successful career. Starting off as an award-winning writer for The Chris Rock Show, she quickly found popularity with her stand-up specials, leading to roles in Monster-in-Law and The New Adventures of Old Christine. 2020 has given Sykes four Emmy nominations this year—two under her production company Push It, one for the role of Gladys in Crank Yankers, and one for her performance as legendary vaudeville entertainer Moms Mabley in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Sykes describes this surreal pandemic year thus: “2020, for me, the glass is half-full. But it’s a dirty glass. It’s like from a crime scene with lipstick and fingerprints and smudges all on it.”

Jenna Dewan and Kelly Clarkson have been in the entertainment industry for a long time, and we have the parking lot performance picture to prove it! On Thursday, Jenna shared a throwback photo of her dancing backup for Kelly outside a Walmart as a crowd looks on. And if the lack of smart phones isn't a dead giveaway that this was taken somewhere in the early- to mid-2000s, the performers' dark tees and flared jeans are pretty telling time stamps.
"#Tbt to dancing with @kellyclarkson at a Walmart parking lot in Texas," Jenna, 38, captioned the post. "I will never forget quick changing in the break room amongst all the employees, and running through the aisles to make it back on stage in time." She then gushed about getting to work with the 37-year-old singer, adding, "To this day, Kelly is one of The nicest and best i have met in this business.

Happy Thursday, Grey's Anatomy fans. Finally, some more news has broke regarding the current season 15 of your favorite show which is currently on a long, winter break hiatus. It turns out that they are going to bring an older, more mature lady into the mix at some point after the winter break is over. According to the folks over at TV Line.com , The Grey's Anatomy production crew has hired former Dirty Dancing actress Jennifer Grey to come on and play an assumed short story arc. Unfortunately, the ABC rep that TVLine spoke to refused to reveal any other details about Jennifer Grey's new role. So, we don't have a name for her character or what she'll be up to when she arrives. However, that has not stopped people from heavily speculating on who her character is. It's highly speculated that she could play character Jo Wilson's estranged mother.

In Nazi-occupied France, lauded musician Django Reinhardt — considered by many to be the first “guitar hero” — had two strikes against him: he was a jazz musician and he was a Gypsy. The Nazis loathed both groups, and in 1933, made that hatred part of the fabric of their government, banning banning most jazz (after over a decade of general suppression) and barring Gypsies from living in cities, instead forcing them into settlement camps.
Ten years later, Reinhardt was still able to find success at his art, but his beloved city of Paris was under Nazi control and the walls were starting to close in. That’s where Etienne Comar’s heartbreaking biopic “Django” opens, carrying its eponymous subject through an unbelievable story of survival, one bolstered by a love of art and creativity that no fascist regime could snuff out. Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury‘s Leatherface is yet another unique interpretation of Texas Chainsaw tonality. This is the beginnings of evil; a moody dive behind the monster’s mask. After The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 introduced a colorful misery, after roadkill grindhouse turned darkly comical, after 2003’s “gritty, dark reboot.” Here, the filmmakers behind Inside, Livide and Among The Living use Seth M. Sherwood’s screenplay to explore what could drive one child to his slaughterhouse obsession – with mixed results.
Though certainly not the franchise’s worst outing, it’s far from an instant classic and in some rather surprising news, it seems as if the origin story will be heading to Blu-Ray a lot sooner than we expected. That’s because we now know that Leatherface will be yours to take home on December 19th.
