Dune: Part Two earned widespread acclaim in 2024, praised for its massive scope, set pieces, and political intrigue. The sequel completes director Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of Frank Herbert's first Dune novel, effectively adapting the back half of the book. If the 2021 film didn't do so already, this sequel establishes the series as a cinematic franchise that is not to be missed. With the new Dune movies introducing the sci-fi epic to a new generation of fans, audiences are bound to have questions about the most recent film—especially with Villeneuve's adaptation of Dune Messiah on the way.
With the IP's newfound franchise status, the world of Herbert's Dune has also expanded into TV.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains major spoilers from Rebecca Yarros’ “Onyx Storm,” the third book in her “The Empyrean” book series.
Rebecca Yarros published No. 3 out of the five books she has planned in her “The Empyrean” series last week and has already broken the record for fastest-selling novel targeted at adults in 20 years with the romantasy title, “Onyx Storm.”
“It’s wild. I’m absolutely humbled by it. It’s insane. I don’t think it’s registered,” Yarros told Variety in the middle of her whirlwind tour of sold-out Q&As and morning-show appearances to promote the book, which sold more than 2.7 million copies in its first week following Jan. 21 release. “I’ll probably burst into tears at home when I’m actually in my real life with my children and my husband. But right now, it’s like two different segments of my life.”

Never one to skip an opportunity to twist the proverbial knife on an old foe, Taylor Swift marked the release of Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s new album Vultures 2 by briefly releasing a live version of “thanK you aIMee” with a not-so-subtly tweaked title: “thank You aimEe.” (The capital letters spell out Ye now, in case you were wondering.)
The performance itself was recorded at one of Swift’s shows in London earlier this summer (June 22, to be exact), and notably found the musician mashing-up the Tortured Poets track with its spiritual predecessor,...

Taylor Swift is seemingly throwing shade at Kanye West with a very slight change to the title of a song.
The 34-year-old singer has a song called “thanK you aIMee” on her album The Tortured Poets Department and it was widely believed that Taylor was throwing shade at Kim Kardashian with the song title.
Now, Taylor has released a live version of the song, but she made a small change to the title.

A new digital version of the album has been released featuring the live recording of “thank You aimEe.” This time, the capitalized letters are Ye, the rapper’s nickname.

The placement of the breakup ballad "So Long, London" as the fifth song on Swift's new album, The Tortured Poets Department, continues Swift's trend of making soul-bearing songs track 5 on her albums. The Eras Tour setlist narrowly avoided this trend by placing the touching and romantic "Lover" as the fifth song Swift performs in the show overall. The very next song after "Lover" on the Eras Tour setlist is her deeply personal song, "The Archer," which is track 5 on the Lover album.
After just barely avoiding it in the Eras Tour setlist, Taylor Swift continues one of the longest-running trends of her career in her new album, The Tortured Poets Department. On April 19, 2024, Taylor Swift released her highly anticipated 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, along with a surprise second installment containing 15 additional songs. Altogether, there are 31 songs in Swift's The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology double album.

Taylor Swift surprisingly unveiled The Anthology version of The Tortured Poets Department, which contains 15 additional songs. The album's lengthy tracklist of 31 songs sets up a potential sequel to Folklore's documentary on Disney+. A Tortured Poets Department film could feature special guests, like Post Malone and Florence Welch.
Anticipation was high for Taylor Swift's eleventh studio album The Tortured Poets Department, but the singer-songwriter managed to exceed expectations with a few surprises, including a double album drop, which indicates that a sequel to Swift's 2020 film is very likely. Prior to the album's release, Swift unveiled its number of tracks and their titles, so, fans were expecting only 16 songs. However, a couple of hours after The Tortured Poets Department was added to streaming platforms, Swift announced that she had written 15 additional songs, which were subsequently added to The Anthology edition of the album and made public.

Taylor Swift accompanied the release of her eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, with a surprise second installment containing 15 extra songs. Assuming Taylor Swift incorporates the new album into The Eras Tour set list, some songs from The Tortured Poets Department are better suited to be performed live than others. Songs like "But Daddy I Love Him" and "Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me?" would make for thrilling, captivating performances on The Eras Tour.
If Taylor Swift decides to incorporate her new double album, The Tortured Poets Department, into her shows on The Eras Tour, there are certain songs she must add to the set list. Two hours after Swift's highly anticipated eleventh studio album was released at midnight on April 19, 2024, the songstress dropped a surprise second instalment containing 15 brand-new songs. Combined with the 16 original tracks, there are 31 songs on The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology double album.

Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, turned out to be a surprise double album with 15 extra songs. With 31 songs on the full tracklist, Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology is Taylor Swift’s longest album. Some songs fail to leave an impression, like “Guilty as Sin?” and “imgonnagetyouback,” while others stand out from the rest, like “Florida!!!” and “So High School.”
With 31 songs total between the first and surprise second instalment of the double album, some tracks on Taylor Swift's The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology are better than others. Swift first announced the upcoming release of her eleventh studio album during her Grammys acceptance speech for Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnights on February 4, 2024. After an extensive rollout, during which she revealed the 16-song tracklist, released special edition vinyls with individual bonus tracks, and teased lyrics, Ttpd arrived two-and-a-half months later on April 19.

The last time Taylor Swift released an album, Midnights, she surprised everyone by dropping a 3 A.M. Edition later that night, loaded with new songs. But it turns out that this time, 3 hours was too damn long for her to wait. At 2 A.M. last night, with no warning at all, Swift announced that her brand-new (and excellent) The Tortured Poets Department was secretly a double album all along. She had another 15 songs ready to go, adding up to 31 in all. (That’s right, 13 backwards.) She really is drilling down...

In Gregory Widen's 1995 horror film "The Prophecy," angels look like ordinary people but are a little ... off. They are typically clad in black suits, but move like birds, snapping their heads around quickly, as if constantly aware of potential danger. They also have unnatural balance, able to perch on the edges of buildings or the backs of chairs without toppling over. When an angel calls Uziel (Jeff Cadiente) dies in the first "Prophecy," a medical examiner finds that the corpse is missing its eyes and that its blood chemistry is similar to that of an unborn fetus. Angels, it seems, are also intersex, possessing both a penis and a vagina. Angels, it seems, lurk among us, resentful of humanity.

It’s here, the newest Netflix thriller adapted from one of Harlan Coben’s ludicrously twist-packed, secret-filled crime mystery novels. This one comes adapted by Danny Brocklehurst with the same UK team that made The Five, Safe, The Stranger and Stay Close, and once again stars Richard Armitage in a central role.
Fool Me Once is the story of military helicopter pilot Maya Stern, a captain who loses her career in a scandal and suffers two bereavements in short succession. It’s fast-paced, kind of ridiculous viewing that takes you down an extremely twisty path before tying everything up in a big not-exactly-watertight-but-it’ll-do-fine knot – which makes it pretty perfect viewing for a brain-fogged New Year’s Day after all of December’s indulgences.

The episode of Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? covering The Prophecy was Written by Emilie Black, Narrated by Travis Hopson, Edited by Victoria Verduzco, Produced by Andrew Hatfield and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
When it comes to religious-themed horror, there are a few films out there worth watching and when it comes to the early to mid-1990s, a few films really stand out in the dark, moody horror realm. These genres overlap quite a bit, and one stellar example of dark, moody, religious horror is the 1995 film The Prophecy (watch it Here), starring Christopher Walken as the archangel Gabriel, Elias Koteas, Virginia Madsen, Viggo Mortensen, Eric Stoltz, and Amanda Plummer. The film had a stacked cast for 1995 and it seemed to do decently in horror circles but not so much outside of that. So, what happened to The Prophecy?
What is The Prophecy about?...

DJ Shadow has revealed his eighth album Action Adventure will drop on October 27th along with the nearly all-instrumental collection’s first single, “Ozone Scraper.”
The 14-track project eschews the California producer’s more recent, guest-friendly offerings in an effort to “write music that flexed different energies.” He first prefaced the creative shift in an Instagram post on August 9th, sharing, “I needed to get personal and make music for myself again. I didn’t want to compromise or write music to give someone else a runway, I wanted to force myself to permeate every available sonic space and ‘own’ the total composition.”
“This is about my relationship to music,” he added in a statement tied to the official announcement. “My life as a collector and curator. All my records and tapes, and no one else’s.”

This post contains spoilers through the seventh episode in season 3 of "Star Trek: Picard."
As of this writing, seven episodes of "Star Trek: Picard" have aired, and we've learned many secrets about the show's primary antagonist, Vadic (Amanda Plummer). Captaining a ship called the Shrike, Vadic has the ability to form weaponized portals in space and uses this technology to redirect enemy fire back at them. The Shrike can also fling entire starships using its overpowered tractor beam, and a lot of dialogue has been devoted to how well-armed it is. Vadic projects a slithery intensity when talking to her potential foes, and sports facial scars and the slicked-forward hairstyle of a proper supervillain. Vadic, however, becomes scared in private when talking to her Changeling commanding officer. Her villainous arrogance is merely a show.
We eventually learn that Vadic is also a Changeling. Following the Dominion War (a central event...

This episode of The Black Sheep was Written, Narrated, and Edited by Lance Vlcek, Produced by Lance Vlcek and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
I’ll always have a soft spot for the horror of the late ’90s. It wasn’t the best of the decade, but it does contain that silly and ambitious mix of dark edginess and psychological tension. Coming somewhat from the boom of the ’90s type of thriller, the religious horror resurgence came out of changing tastes. And though it didn’t all work out, there was a style and tone that I’ll always love. So what happens when an action superstar tries to grow while the genre around him changes into a different beast? You get the ridiculous but damn fun End of Days (watch it Here) on this episode of The Black Sheep.

Christopher Walken is one of a kind. No one else in Hollywood is quite like him, and for sure, no one else sounds like him. He’s a character actor who, in his later years, became so famous that, in some ways, he became a parody of himself even if he’s undoubtedly laughed his way to the bank. Indeed, despite being almost eighty, Walken is as busy as ever and shows no signs of slowing down.
Here’s the thing, though – when people do Walken impersonations or delight in his eccentricities, they tend to lose sight of the fact that in many of his roles, Walken is a pretty brilliant and versatile actor. If you know him most for his appearances on Saturday Night Live or in comedies, you owe it to yourself to learn more about the scope of his career, and that’s where this episode of...

In the world of motion picture filmmaking there's only one thing we know for sure: Children + Corn = Profit. But there's a trick to it. You can't use just any old corn. It's gotta be murder corn. That's how Stephen King envisioned this, and we gotta stay true to his original vision.
Everything else about Stephen King's original vision for "Children of the Corn," however, has long since been chucked — excuse me, "shucked" — out the window. What started as a 1977 short story in the pages of "Penthouse," about a bickering couple who wanders into a small farming town where the children were all cultists who believe in killing all adults, became a hit movie in 1984, and eventually devolved into an impossibly long-running straight-to-video franchise. 11 films and counting! (12 if you include the 1983 short film "Disciples of the Crow!")
You don't keep making that many movies if you aren't making money, and you...

Stop me if you've heard this one. A biotech company that also happens to be a devil-worshipping cult has been cloning famous historical figures and auctioning them off to wealthy bidders. The clones are still kids and in some cases babies, which means for a huge amount of money, someone can get their very own toddler Stravinsky or baby Michelangelo. Kind of like "Clone High," but evil.
But here's the thing: cloning these historical geniuses isn't the cult's endgame. They plan on stealing the Shroud of Turin and using the blood stains on the supposedly holy artifact to clone Jesus Christ himself. But wait, there's more. Not only does the cult want to clone Jesus — they want to use the clone baby as the host for Lucifer himself. Yes, Satan is real, and so are angels, and the battle between Heaven and Hell is about to come to Earth!

(Warning: This post contains spoilers through the finale of Netflix’s “Midnight Mass.”)
“Midnight Mass” poses many a giant theological, philosophical and logical questions to its viewers. And while we don’t have the answer to most of those, we do have one for a pretty simple, but immediately obvious, question: How does Father Paul go out in the daytime?
So as those of us who have watched “The Haunting of Hill House” creator Mike Flanagan’s new seven-episode limited series now know, Father Paul (Hamish Linklater) is actually Crockett Pot’s elderly Monsignor Pruitt, who had his health and youth restored by The Angel (played by Quinton Boisclair) that sucked his blood and fed him some of his own, when Pruitt stumbled upon him in a cave desert on a trip to the Holy Land. Father Paul/Monsignor Pruitt brings The Angel that turned him into a vampire back to Crockett Island with him,...

Warning: contains spoilers for the All Souls books.
Vampire families are complicated, and not just because everybody has two birthdays to remember. Each vampire has a sire who becomes their vampire blood-mother or father, and any vampires who share a sire automatically become siblings. If a vampire’s sire is mated to another, that vampire becomes a non-blood parent to their shared ‘children’.
The immortality thing also means that multiple generations of a vampire clan often look around the same age, which is why, if the de Clermonts in A Discovery of Witches ever had a family get-together, it’d look more like an office costume party.
To set it straight, here’s how the TV show’s complex de Clermonts are all related:
Matthew Clairmont
Matthew was sired by Ysabeau de Clermont in the 6th century, making her his blood-mother. Her mate Philippe de Clermont is Matthew’s non-blood vampire father.

If the first season of A Discovery of Witches was like cooler, sexier Twilight for grown ups then season two might be likened to the later, less sexy installments of that saga. There’s nothing that ruins a fizzy will-they-won’t-they relationship like the couple getting together and being happily in love.
Season two finds our protagonists witch Diana (Teresa Palmer) and vampire Matthew (Matthew Goode) hiding in time. Just beginning to get a handle on her considerable powers, Diana has discovered she’s a ‘timewalker’ and transported her and Matthew back to Elizabethan era London where the two plan to search for The Book Of Life, or Ashmole 782, the ancient text which is said to contain the secrets of witches, vampires and demons and may help to explain why these creatures’ power is diminished in the modern day (the major concern of season one).

Netflix has taken up more of an interest in animated series for mature audiences and Blood of Zeus is one of the most enjoyable results. The epic show comes from Charley and Vlas Parlapanides and it explores a “lost chapter” of Greek mythology where the bastard child of Zeus, Heron, learns about his roots and tries to embrace his birthright as a hero.
Blood of Zeus is a staggering achievement in terms of its chaotic animation and fight choreography as well as its take on the subject matter. The show’s first season tells a strong story that sees Heron and several other important figures vie for power at Mount Olympus. A second season hasn’t officially been confirmed, but there are several threads from the first batch of episodes that indicate where Blood of Zeus plans to go.

Studios, Exorcism at 60,000 Feet comes from director Chad Ferrin, a filmmaker who has a wealth of experience in horror having worked consistently in genre fare since getting his start as production assistant on the likes of The Prophecy, Halloween 6 and Hellraiser: Bloodline. Team Ferrin’s experience with a cast that includes such genre superstars as Lance Henriksen, Bill Moseley, Adrienne Barbeau, Bai Ling, Kevin J. OConnor and Kelli Maroney and you have the makings of what could be a modern horror must-see. But is it?
In a word. Yes.

John Frankenheimer’s 1979 environmental horror movie comes to Blu-ray, flaws and all. Brace yourself.
The 1979 film Prophecy (not to be confused with 1995’s Biblical horror movie The Prophecy) was very much the last gasp of the 1970s boom in ecologically tinged genre movies. It was a string of titles that included No Blade of Grass (1970), Silent Running (1972) and Soylent Green (1973), but leaned especially heavily on the “nature strikes back” subgenre, which gave us such offerings as Frogs (1972), Night of the Lepus (1972), Bug (1975), The Food of the Gods (1976), Day of the Animals (1977) and other, often low-budget quasi-exploitation quickies.
Prophecy on its face seemed to have more going for it. The director was John Frankenheimer, the man behind masterworks like The Manchurian Candidate, Seven Days in May, and Seconds, while the writer was David Seltzer, fresh off his horror classic The Omen. Paramount sunk $12 million into the film, which...

It’s a strange feeling to watch an episode of Saturday Night Live hosted by first-ballot All-Time Cast Member Will Ferrell and think, “Hmm, maybe Ryan Reynolds should have hosted this one instead?” Rather than look at this episode as a failure, perhaps it’s better look at it as the prime example of how absolutely nothing about this show is predictable. A host simply brings potentiality, not actuality, to the proceedings. For whatever reason the show decided to largely avoid material that would remind people what made Ferrell such...

As spy films need gadgets and Swiss bank accounts, and Irish mob movies require bad Boston accents and crooked cops, the genre of films about freelance news videographers share a unifying concept: “If it bleeds, it leads.”
That was the finding of a federal judge Monday when he decided to throw out a four-year-old lawsuit brought against Universal, Bold Films, and Open Road Films, the producers and distributors of “Nightcrawler” starring Jake Gyllenhaal. It received an Oscar-nomination for its screenplay.
From the 1992’s “The Public Eye,” to 2014’s “Nightcrawler,” there’s a collection of movies focused on so-called stringers, the people paid to record late-night police chases, freeway wrecks, and fires for the gawking eyes of TV-news viewers the next morning — and the films, as a necessity, share certain un-copyrightable elements, a legal doctrine known as scènes à faire.

*Checks notes*
That wasn't a finale?!
Blood rain, human sacrifices, major character deaths, and a zombie apocalypse were only a fraction of the crazy twists Charmed (2018) Season 1 Episode 21 brought to the table.
Color me mystified over how they could top things in the finale.
So much happened in "Red Rain," it's hard to figure out where to even begin -- it was a wild ride with a ton of information.
Sweeps month is always going to bring a decent amount of chaos to a series. Shows will often use recaps of exposition to remind viewers about what’s happening.
View Slideshow: Renewal Scorecard 2018-19: Which Shows are Coming Back?
However, you have to make certain major plot points are threaded consistently throughout the season, so your story holds together. Otherwise, you risk losing your audience.
Parker: Find Charity! Keep her alive and the prophecy cant be completed. You can stop all of this.

A low-key supernatural thriller in the vein of “The Prophecy” and “Stigmata,” “Stray” makes good use of the insider/outsider narrative trope in its unfolding of a unique, engaging tale. Combining far-east mysticism with a standard police procedural, director Joe Sill deftly keeps his characters and their development front-and-center, with the central conflict of the story used as a means to that end rather than the other way around.
