Before its DVD release Society was only available as a R-rated VHS with a running time of about 94 minutes. With the appearance of the Anchor Bay DVD fans got the chance to see the unrated version of Brian Yuzna's dark satire that runs approx. 4 and a half minutes longer than the old VHS. Most of the new scenes are story extensions but there are also some more violent frames.
