Jesse Williams has spoken out regarding the leak of a nude scene from his Broadway revival of Take Me Out, saying that he’s “not down” about it.
“Our job is to go out there every night, no matter what…I’m not really worrying about it. I can’t sweat that,” Williams told The Associated Press on Thursday at their event, Tony Awards: Meet The Nominees.
The actor added that actors “do need to keep advocating” for themselves, and that it’s been “wonderful” to see his community “push back” and be clear about the kinds of behavior it won’t stand for. “Consent is important, I thought,” he said. “So, let’s keep that in mind universally.”
Williams added that while “theater is a sacred space,” not everyone understands that. “Everybody doesn’t necessarily respect or regard that in a way that maybe they should, or we’d like,...

It’s time to flick an eye over a recent Reddit post and explore a new Marvel “leak” that seemingly gives us a quick look at concept art for some of the studio’s more imminent projects, including Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Are there spoilers ahead? Who can say. That’s a very existential question.
Briefly muting the chorus of voices screaming “legit” or “fake” is probably a requirement here, as it is with most “leaks” that make their way online. Marvel has been known to tinker with things right up until the last minute, so even some of the real concept art we eventually get to clap our eyes on doesn’t typically fit the mould of what we end up getting.
This new “leak”, which was supposedly offered to a toy manufacturer by Marvel, gives us a fuzzy peek at two of its upcoming Disney+ series,...

What do you think of when you read the words “black magic”? Covens of witches? Cackling necromancers? Card games? Or maybe, you think of gross Asian horror. For over forty years, the black magic sub-genre has dominated all sorts of weird cinema discussions, encompassing a myriad of films from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Indonesia focused on hexes, curses, and witchcraft. Since there are tons of these films out there, it can be daunting to find where to jump in, but for my money, there’s no better place to start than at the beginning, with Ho Meng Hua’s genre-defining duology, Black Magic.
Ho Meng Hua was, without a doubt, one of the oddest directors working for the fabled Shaw Brothers studio. In the 1960s, he made a quadrilogy of fantastical films based on the legendary Journey to the West, and when the ’70s rolled around, he jumped right on...

Gee---zuss---christ Up next we have an Indonesian treat from 1981 entitled Mystics in Bali. From what Ive read this movie was banned in Indonesia when first released and was pretty much buried in obscurity until the internet happened and all of a sudden this movie was everywhere. Finally getting a full DVD release in 2003, the cult status of this one has only grown. And I can see why, Ive never seen anything quite like it. Story is thin at…...

Welshman Gareth Evans is part of a new mood of creativity in Indonesian cinema, ready for global competition despite the country's lack of film infrastructure and political support
• What global box-office stories would you like to see in After Hollywood? Let us know in the comments below
"He is very kind and very polite. We are known as a polite people. But Gareth Evans is more Indonesian than most Indonesian people." So says film-maker Joko Anwar, speaking of the current flagbearer for Bahasa cinema. Since he moved to Jakarta four years ago, Evans, a softly-spoken scion of the Brecon Beacons, has resurrected the Indo martial-arts film. His latest, a careening piece of John Woo-esque ultraviolence called The Raid, is winning the country some overdue global exposure, thanks to its Sony Pictures Classic deal. He chuckles when he hears Anwar's comment: "He would say that!" What does he mean? "Oh – it's a private joke.

It's time for more various oddball trailers from the far reaches of cinema obscurity. So, without any further ado, let's check out some "coming attractions"!
Dr. Alien (1989):
Ah, Empire Pictures. What's not to love about the infamous production company that gave us such 80's cult favorites as Ghoulies, Trancers, Re-Animator, TerrorVision and Psychos in Love? Well, here's one from Empire that I bet you probably missed; Dr. Alien. This goofy sci-fi teen comedy stars Billy Jacoby (Just One of the Guys, Parker Lewis Can't Lose) as Wesley, a nerdy student who becomes a sexual dynamo after being injected with a serum by his new smokin' hot teacher, Ms. Xenobia played by Judy Landers (Stewardess School, Armed and Dangerous), who just happens to be an alien. Sound ridiculous enough for ya yet? This nugget of pure late-80's video fun was directed by David DeCoteau, who got his start directing...
