It was canceled after just thirteen-episodes due to the death of Bill Scott - no one replaced him for his character Moosel's voice in the last episode, which is also why he is absent there.
"Wuzzles" and Adventures of the Gummi Bears (1985), both created by Walt Disney's animation studio, debuted on September 14, 1985 and were syndicated to different networks, competing against each other in the same time-slot. "Gummi Bears" ultimately had a larger audience on NBC then "Wuzzles" did on CBS (though they aired in different slots in the UK so "Wuzzles" received a larger audience there).
After conceiving the concept of creatures that were blends of two types of animals, Walt Disney Productions discovered Hasbro was developing a similar concept. Instead of one suing the other, they teamed up with Disney producing the show and Hasbro the toys used for its basis.
