The last movie of Lyricist Neeraj with Navketan. Neeraj returned to Navketan after about 23 years. He wrote some songs for Censor, Chargesheet & Jaa Na Dil Se Door.
Vijay Anand was in debt after the flopping of Tere Mere Sapne. He decided to make Chuppa Rustam. He opted not to cast Mumtaz because she was due to get married and it would make no sense to repeat Dev and Mumtaz's pairing after Tere Mere Sapne. Chhupa Rustam was not a box office hit but it help clear up all the debts Vijay Anand had.
Writer Neeraj wrote songs of Vijay Anand"s first production Tere Mere Sapne and after about 30 later Neeraj wrote the songs for Vijay Anand"s last production Jaana Na Dil Se Door. After Tere Mere Sapne and before Jaana Na Dil Se Door, Neeraj had written the songs for Chhupa Rustam.
Goldie made Chhupa Rustam just to recover the losses.
