Funny and fun film with the great Paco Martinez Soria delivering an attractive spectacle , laughters , entertainment and amusement. It starts in a village called Valdemorillo del Moncayo in Zaragoza province , Aragon . There the authorities and neighbours decide to become their village into a tourism centre, being the main attraction : the castle, monuments and food . As the Mayor : Paco Martinez Soria and the town hall secretary : Jose Luis López Vázquez are comissioned to go a touristic location to learn new developing techniques. After a vacation at a luxurious seaside resort : ¨Melia Don Pepe Hotel¨ , the stubborn Mayor attempts to modify his small rural town to bring tourists with the aim to make money. Later on, to get financing they go to Madrid to meet the Minister to get necessary funds to progress the village .
Enjoyable comedy typical of the 60s with great comical actors , sympathy, emotion, humor with tongue-in-cheek and social habits at the time . Agreeable and amusing Paco Martinez Soria film , well accompanied by Jose Luis López Vázquez, both of whom are the authentic protagonists, giving a real and hilarious recital, addding Rafael L. Somoza who has a charming comical vis , too . A nice vehicle for the great Paco Martinez Soria providing an authentic recita l, as usual he plays a veteran and stubborn Mayor of conservative morality and pedestrian ideas , and he , nowadays, being revered and adored by public and reviewers alike . Being decently made by Pedro Lazaga who also directed him in "Estoy Hecho Un Chaval", "El Alegre Divorciado" , "Vaya Par De Gemelos" , "El Abuelo Tiene Un Plan" , "El Padre de La Criatura" , and "La Ciudad No Es Para Mi" , the latter one of the biggest boxoffice successes and rightly so . Are well supported by a fine cast with a lot of familiar faces usual in the sixties and seventies Spanish comedies, including the following ones : Antonio Ozores, Rafael L Somoza, Francisco Camoiras, Margot Cottens, Maria Luisa Ponte , Pedro Porcel , Erasmo Pascual , Valentin Tornos and Jesus Guzmán who still goes on playing . It displays a charming and diverting script from Vicente Coello and Pedro Maso who produced as well.
It contains an atmospheric cinematography by Eastmancolor by Juan Mariné. As well as evocative musical score by prolific Anton Garcia Abril. The motion picture was professionally directed by Pedro Lazaga in his usual style, in fact he was a comedy expert making various Paco Martinez Soria vehicles. Lazaga was a prolific filmmaker who realized a lot of comedies in a long career , such as : "Económicamente Débiles" , "Trio de Damas" , "Muchachas de Azul", and the best of all then resulted to be : "Los Tramposos". Though also made other genres as Peplum : "Siete Espartanos" , Wartime : "Posición Avanzada", "Torrepartida" , "La Patrulla" and Dramas : "Otro Árbol de Guernica" , "Rostro del Asesino" . Rating : 6/10 . Acceptable and passable . Worthwhile seeing.
