Sir Ian McKellen has never long been out of the public’s eye (thanks, X-Men and The Hobbit!), but it’s been over a decade since we last saw the stage great on Broadway. This year, he’s teaming up with longtime friend Sir Patrick Stewart for a pair of plays in repertory — Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot and Harold Pinter’s No Man’s Land — opening at the Cort Theatre on November 24. HBO dominated the Creative Arts Emmys on Sunday night, grabbing 20 awards, including eight for the Liberace biopic Behind the Candelabra, the most-awarded program of the night. Wagner Dies
Veteran U.S. soap star Helen Wagner has died at the age of 91.
The actress passed away on Saturday, but her cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
Wagner is best known for playing Nancy Hughes on As The World Turns for more than half a century, holding the Guinness World Record for playing the same role on TV for the longest period of time.
She also racked up a number of Broadway credits in her career, starring in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma!, The Bad Seed and Sunny River.
The actress married Broadway producer Robert Willey in 1954 and the pair remained wed until his death in May last year.
