From the beauty of the wilderness to the challenge of flying through war torn nations, Tracey faces many of the same challenges as her aviatrix predecessor. With aviation fuel scarce and with a top speed of only 95 miles an hour, her progress is slow and at times frightening. Accompanied in the aircraft by another pilot, her aircraft was fitted with satellite navigation which made the trip far safer.
- From Central Park in New York City eleven teams embark on the Amazing Race by speeding to the airport to catch flights to Johannesburg, South Africa. After arriving in Johannesburg, teams book charter flights to Zambia leaving the next morning and then travel to Victoria Falls. From there, they make their way to Batoka Gorge where teams choose between two detours: either hike to the bottom of the gorge or use a zip line to cross, and then bungee to the bottom of the gorge. After the task is complete, teams race to the pit stop at Songwe Village, and the last team to arrive is eliminated
- Handsome Sam Bright seems unwilling to succeed his mother June as manager of the family hotel. Britta dares not confess to coincidental co-passenger Hanno she's his mystery Internetflirt, having used aliases, but they grow closer. Hanno's cousin, Hanna Liebhold, helps him make Elsa see sense, which only works after Hanno helps save Elsa's favorite cheetah from a lion attack.

In Zambia, we learn of Dr. David Livingstone's exploration of the African interior in the hope of finding a navigable waterway to the ocean. In the modern day city of Livingstone, we learn of herbal medicines available at the local market.
