Lloyd's age was clearly becoming a problem, writing and direction were uneven and, according to The New York Times (January 25,1951) the film "runs an erratic course during which moments of wonderfully funny nonsense are overshadowed by stretches of painfully dull writing and imagery". Harold Lloyd did not come out of retirement again and poor Frances Ramsden left the screen forever to concentrate on her hobbies of golf and reading. She was also reputedly a very good pianist.

Frances later married the Egyptian millionaire Adel Sabit, a cousin of King Farouk. They lived in Cairo, until her husband's connections to the old regime forced them to leave. Afterwards, they spent time in Germany and other parts of Europe. Francis did not find the transient lifestyle conducive. She divorced Sabit in 1975 and returned to California, where she spent the remainder of her life.
