Trine Dyrholm was born on 15 April 1972 in Odense, Denmark. She is an actress and director, known for Queen of Hearts (2019), Love Is All You Need (2012) and In a Better World (2010).

Ulrich Thomsen graduated from The Danish National School of Theatre and Contemporary Dance in 1993, after which playing on several theaters in Copenhagen, i.e. Dr. Dantes Aveny, Mungo Park and Østre Gasværks Teater. His debut on film was in Ole Bornedal's Nightwatch (1994). Since then a number of roles in, among others, Thomas Vinterberg's The Biggest Heroes (1996), Susanne Bier's Credo (1997) and Anders Thomas Jensen's Flickering Lights (2000). However, the major breakthrough came in the film The Celebration (1998) by Thomas Vinterberg, playing the part as Christian, the son. This performance made him well known outside Denmark, earning him a bad guy role in the James Bond film The World Is Not Enough (1999) and a part in the English film Killing Me Softly (2002).

Born in Odense, Denmark, Roland Møller debuted on screen in 2010 in Lindholm & Noer's prison drama R as "the Mason", a brutal inmate, high in the pecking order. In 2011 Roland was nominated Best Supporting Actor for the film at The Danish Critics Association Awards, Bodil.

Two years later, Roland was nominated for a Bodil in the same category for his role as the sailor "Jan Sørensen" in Tobias Lindholm's drama "A Hijacking." Jan Sørensen is a ship's engineer taken hostage by pirates of the Somali shore holding on to his wits as days passes by.

In 2013, "Northwest" by Michael Noer was released. Roland's character Bjørn is a local gang member, who welcomes the new kid in town into his world of drugs and prostitution. Roland won a Bodil for this performance.

In 2014 Roland got the leading role in Martin Zandvlient's WWII film "Land of Mine." Roland plays the Danish sergeant Carl Leopold Rasmussen in charge of a group of young German prisoners of war who are forced to clear landmines on the West Coast of Denmark just after the war has ended. For this we won in the category Best Actor at Tokyo International Film Festival and at the Bodil Awards. "Land of Mine" was furthermore nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards 2017.

Earlier this year David Leitch's "Atomic Blonde" premiered starring Roland opposite John Goodman and Charlize Theron. For more to come Roland is starring in Jaume Collette Serra's "The Commuter", playing alongside Liam Neeson, in Michael Noer's "Papillon", that premiered on Toronto International Film Festival, opposite Chaelie Hunnam and Rami Malek and in "A Bluebird in my heart" by Jérémie Guez.

Besides acting, Roland is a co-host on two radio programs on the Danish radio channel Radio 24/7, "Politiradio", and "Nattevagten."

Leaving an old life in the criminal underworld, Roland is today deeply involved in his community, helping to steer at risk youth away from a life in crime and figure as a mentor to boys who are at risk of becoming involved in crime.

Ove Sprogøe was one of Denmark's finest and most treasured actors. Born in 1919 in Odense, where he also grew up, his parents were Arthur and Inger Sprogøe. He married his wife Eva in 1945, the same year as his stage debut at Folketeatret in Copenhagen.

Through a long career in film, television and theatre, his most famous role was as Egon Olsen in the film series "Olsenbanden". The characters and the 14 films are common ground for all Danes and also became popular in Germany as well as in Norway and Sweden where local versions were produced.

Even so, Sprogøe was always able to maintain a diverse range as an actor, playing all genres on stage as well as on screen. This included a multitude of popular comedies, a recurring role in the popular series Matador (1978) and a great number of variety shows.

Ove Sprogøe died in the fall of 2004 and is remembered as one of the true greats of Danish film.

Born in Odense, Denmark on December 9th, 1934, Morten Grunwald is "World famous in Denmark" for several popular film roles. Most famous, however, will always be his Benny in all of the "Olsen Banden" films, where he starred alongside Ove Sprogøe and Poul Bundgaard.

He attended Odense Theatrical School in 1958 and graduated from The Royal Theater of Denmark's Theatrical School in 1962. Since 1971, he has been the director of several theatres in Copenhagen: Bristol Teatret (1971-1980), Betty Nansen Teatret (1980-1992), Østre Gasværk (1992-1998).

Olivia Joof Lewerissa was born on 22 August 1988 in Odense, Fyn, Denmark. She is an actress and writer, known for Perfekte steder (2017), Love You for Now (2022) and Mimi and the Movers (1998).

Andersen experienced an unhappy childhood marked by deep poverty. When he was 14 years old, he left his parents' home and fled alone to Copenhagen. Here the director of the Royal Theater, Jonas Collin, took care of the child and gave him shelter and work. With his help, the young Hans Christian Andersen was also able to attend school. Inspired by his theater work, he began to write his first plays, which he later wanted to expand into stage plays. The first stories, stories and poems were created at this time. In 1822, Andersen's first plots were published with great success. He became a recognized writer in 1829 with his fantastic stories, which were entirely based on the example of the German writer Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann.

Andersen's debut novel, "The Improviser", was written in 1835 and received extremely positive reviews from critics. The Danish philosopher and writer Sören Kierkegaard was critical of him in his 1837 work "Only a Violinist". From 1839 Andersen was provided with a state poet's salary. As a result, financially secure, he traveled to Europe, Asia and Africa. However, he spent most of his time in Germany. He recorded his adventures and experiences in dramas, novels and travel books. Anderson became a literary figure with worldwide recognition through his precise portrayal of individual characters, which the writer wrote in everyday language that was atypical at the time. The secret fears and longings of the characters were portrayed, and their exemplary behavior also represented an educational goal.

During his literary work, Andersen wrote some of the most popular children's stories of modern times. Andersen's collected fairy tales and poems were published between 1835 and 1848 under the Danish title "Eventyr, fortalte for børn". His most successful stories include "The Ugly Duckling", "The Emperor's New Clothes", "The Snow Queen" and "The Princess and the Pea". Andersen's extensive legacy includes over 150 fairy tales, including "The Little Mermaid", which gave rise to the sculpture of the same name in memory of him in the harbor of Copenhagen. Andersen's stories have been translated into over 80 languages and served as plays, ballets, picture books and later as successful films.

Hans Christian Andersen died on August 4, 1875 in Copenhagen.

Danish film director Birgitte Stærmose is educated in the US, where she resided for 14 years. Her early award-winning shorts all screened at prestigious festivals (Sundance, New Directors/New Films, Berlin, Rotterdam) and earned her twice the EFA Best Short Film nomination, as well as awards at Berlin, Rotterdam, Melbourne IFF, Stockholm IFF, Dokufest and Danish Academy Award for Best Documentary for Out of Love. Her debut feature, Room 304 premiered internationally in the main competition at Karlovy Vary IFF, where it was awarded for the score and was released in cinemas across the country. She is also the co-writer on the feature film, The Idealist (dir. Christina Rosendahl). Stærmose has in 2015 directed three episodes of the Danish TV2 drama series Norskov airing in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the UK, the Benelux countries and the US. Her second feature, Darling, a drama set in the Royal Danish Ballet written by Kim Fupz Aakeson and produced by Peter Ålbæk of Zentropa Productions starring Danica Curcic, Gustaf Skarsgård and Ulrich Thomsen screened in Danish cinemas during the fall of 2017 and had its international world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival 2017. Danica Curcic was nominated as best actress by the Danish Film Academy as well as for the Bodil awarded by the Danish Film Critics. Stærmose is the first block director on the Starz series The Spanish Princess and the Julian Fellowes Netflix Original series The English Game.

Laura Kronborg Kjær was born on 18 November 1996 in Odense, Denmark. She is an actress, known for When the Sun Shines (2016), Bror (2019) and A Fortunate Man (2018).

Kirsten Lindholm was born on 1 September 1943 in Odense, Denmark. She is an actress, known for Doctor in the House (1969), UFO (1970) and Popdown (1969). She has been married to Vic Briggs since May 1972. They have two children. She was previously married to John Betts.

Caroline Wozniacki is a Danish professional tennis player. She is a former world No. 1 in singles. She is also the first woman from a Scandinavian country to hold the top ranking position and 20th in the Open Era. She finished on top of the rankings in both 2010 and 2011. She has won 30 WTA singles titles, including six in 2010 and 2011, the most in a year by a WTA player from 2008-2011.She was runner-up at the 2009 US Open and the 2010 WTA Tour Championships to Kim Clijsters, and at the 2014 US Open to Serena Williams. She won the 2006 Wimbledon Girls' Singles title and also holds two WTA titles in doubles. In 2008, Wozniacki won the title of WTA Newcomer of the Year. In 2017, Wozniacki won the season-ending WTA Finals in Singapore for the first time in her career. Wozniacki won her maiden Grand Slam title at the 2018 Australian Open and returned to the No. 1 ranking on 29 January 2018.

Søren Elung Jensen was born on 7 July 1928 in Odense, Denmark. He was an actor and director, known for King Lear (1970), The Kingdom (1994) and Støv på hjernen (1961). He was married to Jonna Hjerl and Rita Angela. He died on 22 January 2017 in Hellerup, Denmark.

Vera Gebuhr is among Denmark's finest character actresses, acting in countless stage and screen productions through a career of more than sixty years. She grew up in Funen, Denmark, as the daughter of an industry owner. As a child she took ballet lessons, and in the late 1930s she travelled to Copenhagen as a protegée of John Price to study at The Royal Theatre's acting school from 1937 to 1939. Her theatre debut was on 26 December 1939, in Henrik Ibsen's "Brand" at Folketeatret, Copenhagen, where she had steady work for the following 25 years. The play "Arvingen" is often cited as her true breakthrough. In the career that followed she was never unemployed and combined theatre with television and film performances. She also co-starred in the popular Matador (1978), but remarkably, she says her very best parts came when she was between 70 and 85. At the time of writing, her latest project is Afgrunden (2003) where she stars as Asta Nielsen. Through two marriages Vera Gebuhr has led an active family life, and the she is still in excellent health for her age.

Peer Guldbrandsen was born on 22 October 1912 in Odense, Denmark. He was a writer and actor, known for Premiere i helvede (1964), Løgn og løvebrøl (1961) and Skibet er ladet med (1960). He was married to Svea Hedvig Erika Branner and Karen Margrethe Jønsson. He died on 13 March 1996 in Stenlille, Sjælland, Denmark.

Karen Marie Aagaard Ørsted Andersen (born 13 August 1988), known professionally as MØ, is a Danish singer, songwriter and record producer, signed to Sony Music Entertainment. Born in Ubberud, MØ has been compared to electropop artists such as Grimes and Twin Shadow. Besides being the initials of her middle and last name, the word mø means "maiden" or "virgin" in Danish. Her debut studio album, No Mythologies to Follow, was released in March 2014.

MØ collaborated with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea on the 2014 single "Beg for It", which peaked at number 27 on the US Billboard Hot 100, earning MØ her first entry on the chart. The following year, MØ was featured on Major Lazer and DJ Snake's single "Lean On", which peaked highly on international charts, including number one in Australia, number two in the United Kingdom and number four in the United States.

MØ was born in Ubberud, near Odense, and she grew up in Ejlstrup on the island of Funen, Denmark. Her father, Frans Ørsted, is a psychologist, and her mother, Mette Ørsted, is a teacher. She has an older brother, Kaspar, who is a doctor.

MØ was seven when she became interested in music thanks to the Spice Girls. As a teenager, she became interested in punk music and anti-fascist movements, listening to Black Flag, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and especially Sonic Youth, saying she looked up to Kim Gordon as a "big hero and role model".

In 2006, MØ released a side project titled The Edmunds, which included tracks such as "Garbage King" and "Polly Get Your Gun". MØ also released several other side projects during 2008-10 including titles such as "A Piece of Music to F*ck to" and "The Rarities". The side-projects included songs that have been previously taken down due to an unknown reason, but has been re-released by a fan on YouTube.

MØ and her friend Josefine Struckmann Pedersen formed duo MOR in 2007, and released two EPs, Fisse I Dit Fjæs ("Pussy in Your Face") and Vanvidstimer ("Madness Hours"), in 2009 and 2011, respectively. MOR disbanded on 7 September 2012, due to personal reasons.

In 2012, MØ began creating a cappella pop songs and began collaborating with producer Ronni Vindahl. On 14 January 2013, MØ released her debut single, "Glass". On 15 March 2013, she released "Pilgrim" with the B-side "Maiden". "Pilgrim" was recognised as P3s Uundgåelige (P3 Unavoidable), a label given to rising artists by Danish radio station DR P3, as it peaked at number eleven on the Danish Singles Chart. On 27 March 2013, she performed live on television at the Danish P3 Guld Awards.

On 7 June 2013, she released the single "Waste of Time". On 18 August 2013, it was confirmed through producer and DJ Avicii's manager Ash Pournouri that MØ had co-written and provided vocals on a track called "Dear Boy" which was later featured on Avicii's debut album, True. On 30 August 2013, she released the single "XXX 88" MØ's first extended play, Bikini Daze, was released on 18 October 2013. In October 2013, she supported AlunaGeorge on UK tour dates. The single "Don't Wanna Dance" debuted on BBC Radio 1 on 16 January 2014 as Zane Lowe's Hottest Record.

MØ's debut studio album, No Mythologies to Follow, was released on 7 March 2014. On the review aggregate site Metacritic, the album has a Metascore of 77 out of 100 indicating "generally favorable" reviews. Music blog Pretty Much Amazing called the album "complex and euphoric", while The Guardian noted that "what [MØ] lacks in originality, she makes up for with warlike ardour".

MØ began touring in Europe and the United States in support of the album, ending in June. On 2 June 2014, she made her US television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where she performed the songs "Don't Wanna Dance" and "Pilgrim". "Walk This Way" was released on 16 June 2014 as a single from No Mythologies to Follow. On 23 June, MØ announced additional United States and Canadian tour dates beginning in September. In November 2014, she won four awards at the Danish Music Awards: Danish Album of the Year, Danish Solo Artist of the Year, Danish Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Danish Music Video of the Year.

On 1 October 2015, it was announced that the first single from MØ's upcoming second studio album, "Kamikaze", produced by Diplo, would be released on 15 October 2015. On 14 October, the single made its world premiere on a BBC Radio 1 segment hosted by Annie Mac before the studio version was released the following day. "Kamikaze" charted in Denmark, the United Kingdom, Australia and Belgium. On 13 May 2016, "Final Song", the second single from MØ's second album, was released and also made its world premiere on the same radio segment hosted by Mac. The song was co-written with Swedish singer and songwriter Noonie Bao and English singer and songwriter MNEK. It became MØ's first top 40 single as a lead artist in the United Kingdom, with the song reaching number 15 on the UK Singles Chart. Additionally, the song reached the top 40 in more than 10 countries worldwide.

On 22 July 2016, Major Lazer released the single "Cold Water" which features Canadian singer Justin Bieber and MØ, marking the fourth time she has worked with Major Lazer. In the United States, "Cold Water" debuted at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming MØ's second top 10 and her third top 40 single, It is also her highest-charting single in the United States. MØ is the highest-charting Danish act along with Jørgen Ingmann ("Apache") and Lukas Graham ("7 Years"), who all reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100. In the United Kingdom, "Cold Water" debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart. The song became MØ's first number-one single, and she is only the fourth Danish act to reach number one in the UK. Additionally, it is the first time two Danish acts have reached number one in the same year (with the other being Lukas Graham's "7 Years").

On 17 September 2016, MØ announced the release of her new track titled "Drum" on Twitter. It has previously made special appearances in previous concerts and shows. The song was produced by American producer Bloodpop also co-written by English singer and songwriter Charli XCX alongside Noonie Bao. In October 2016, the song's official audio was released.

On 26 October 2017, MØ released her second extended play, titled When I Was Young, as a surprise. The EP is composed of songs that MØ wrote over the course of four years since the release of No Mythologies to Follow. On October 30, 2017, MØ announced a co-headlining North American tour with Cashmere Cat titled the "Meøw Tour" in support of the EP. The tour will take place from January to April 2018. In early 2018, she collaborated with producer Jack Antonoff to sing a song for the "Love, Simon" soundtrack. She sang "Never Fall In Love".

MØ's music has been described as "electro music with guts". NME compared her work as a cross between Siouxsie Sioux and Janet Jackson.

Anders Grau was born on 3 August 1981 in Odense, Denmark. He is an actor and writer, known for Live fra Bremen (2009), Halløj på Kvanten (2018) and Dybvaaaaad (2012).
