Singer/songwriter/musician Billy Swan was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He learned to play several instruments as a child. As a teenager he wrote a song for a band he was in and the song, called "Lover, Please", was eventually recorded by Bill Black. It was later recorded by Clyde McPhatter and became a top-10 national hit. Swan late relocated to Memphis and resumed working with Bill Black, but Black became ill and died in 1965. Swan then moved to Nashville, and became a successful songwriter, penning songs for such major stars as Conway Twitty, Waylon Jennings and Mel Tillis. He also tried his hand at producing, and produced Tony Joe White's hit song "Polk Salad Annie".
Swan signed a recording contract with Monument Records, and his first album for that label in 1974 featured the song "I Can Help", which shot to #1 on both the Billboard Top 100 and country charts. His later albums for Monument didn't live up to the success of his first one, and after leaving Monument he recorded albums for Epic and A&M, also without much success.
In 1979 he took part in the "Havana Jam" festival in Havana, Cuba, along with such icons as Kris Kristofferson. Rita Coolidge, Billy Joel and Stephen Stills. After the festival he toured with Kristofferson's band and recorded solo albums for several independent labels. He has also recorded two albums with Randy Meisner, formerly of Eagles.- Mitch Craft is an actor known for his work from the television shows: NCIS: New Orleans (2017), Murderous Affairs (2017) and Preacher (2017) as well as from the feature films: "Are You From Dixie?" (2018) directed by Art Arutyunyan and Blaze (2018), directed by Ethan Hawke. Mitch was born on September 22, 1985 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Darla Ann Craft, assistant Human Resource director and Gary Woodrow Craft, retired truck driver. He attended Cape Central High School and was a 3-sport athlete in baseball, basketball and football where he averaged a double-double for two seasons in basketball, was all-conference in baseball and was a two year all-state quarterback in football. After high school, Craft played college football at Southern Miss and was named the starting middle linebacker before the 2006 season. He was known as an athletic, tough and hard-nosed middle linebacker who liked mixing it up. He then went on to play pro football for four years before officially retiring in 2014. His first taste in the film industry came as a background extra in the action-thriller Straw Dogs (2011) starring James Marsden, Kate Bosworth and James Woods, as a football player. Next, he worked as a featured extra in a low budget film called The Daisy Chain (2011) , again, as a football player. In 2016, Craft was contacted to shoot in Tish Hyman's "All That I Can Do" music video as an undercover cop. After Hyman's video, things took off relatively fast and from all angles in both film and television. Craft never takes anything for granted and will be the first to tell you he is so fortunate to be given a chance. He resides in Lafayette, LA where he has a son, Landyn, and lives together with his girlfriend, Anna. He has two brothers, Lance and Ty, who were all-state athletes in baseball and football, respectively. Craft believes his grandmother, Mary Alice Davis of Sikeston, Missouri, is his biggest fan.
