Nice Little Thriller
20 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I saw You Can't Run Forever, starring J. K. Simmons-the Spider_Man movies, The Closer_tv; Isabelle Anaya-The Rookie: Feds_tv, Donny's Barmitzvah; Allen Leech-Downton Abbey_tv, Bohemian Rhapsody and Fernanda Urrejola-The Black Demon, Narcos:Mexico_tv.

This is a nice little thriller that is written and directed by Michelle Schumacher-J. K. Simmons' real life wife-and has J. K. starring in it, as well as his real life daughter Olivia, in a small part. The movie starts with J. K. riding a motorcycle on a country road. When he stops for gas, he sees a man walking a dog and a couple sitting outside the gas station. After gassing up, J. K. pulls out a gun and shoots all 3 people and then rides off. Elsewhere, Isabelle is a teenage girl that found her father after he committed suicide years before, so she is a little on the anxious side-she is on medication. Allen is her new step father, who married her mother, Fernanda. While on a trip to the store, Isabelle and Allen cross paths with J. K. and things go bad quickly. Isabelle escapes on foot into the woods and the chase is on. Anytime Isabelle meets anyone in the woods that could help her, J. K. shoots them. Later, in flashbacks, you learn what set J. K. off in the first place and made him turn into a sociopath.

It's rated R for violence, suicide, drug use, language and sexual content-no nudity-and has a running time of 1 hour & 42 minutes.

I enjoyed it enough that I would buy it on DVD.
