For the 12th edition of this Girlfriends series, the diaries have a more important function than last time, setting up a basic conflict: unauthorized reading of someone else's diary, and the jealousy of "being cheated on" one assumes from the contents.
That's the dramatic thrust milked in these separate vignettes, at times believable but hurt by repetition. Alex Coal, a fine actress, stumbles in her vignette by overdoing the tears and bathos as she's heartbroken to discover diary passages indicating her partner Vivian Foxx is cheating, only to discover that it's merely VF's erotic fantasies put to paper. This scene is particularly ridiculous when she insists that Vivian put up with a strip search as Coal tries to find evidence (scratches, somebody's perfume, etc.) of cheating on VF's body!
Merely okay cast is not scintillating in this time-killer.
