I saw an episode of "Vera" on PBS in the US and I was hooked. A subscription to Acorn TV has allowed me to watch all seasons and stay current. Brenda Blethyn, as DCI Stanhope, delivers an outstanding performance in every episode. I first saw her in an episode of Law and Order SVU and she was unforgettable. She never disappoints but Dark Road was definitely the best yet. A kinder and gentler DCI Stanhope was a pleasant change. I only wish that the seasons had more episodes. For now I will just be happy if they just keep the seasons coming. I am quite a fan of British TV series (I watch several) and Vera is one British show that should be added to everyone's must watch list.
