I see that some people who saw this film just did not get it. It is packed with homo-erotic subtleties (and not so subleties) that are just hilarious! The animation of the ski jumping pairs (because live action would have been impossible for reasons you'll just have to see to understand) in the film is not so great, but that was obviously due to budget constraints. If Hollywood had done this movie (which they never would) the graphics would have been spectacular. This film is a true homage to Spinal Tap and done with a flair that both rebels against traditional Japanese stiff stereotypes and embraces the true spirit of comedy. And, it is not for folks who frequent the mall cineplexes by any stretch of the imagination.
