Richard Gadd, the creator of the hit show “Baby Reindeer,” has recounted years of “extremely upsetting” stalking at the hands of the woman who sued Netflix over her portrayal in the series.
The show was inspired by Gadd’s experience as a victim of stalking while he was a fledgling comedian. In a court filing on Monday, Gadd reiterated that though the show is “emotionally true” to his own life, it is not meant to be “a beat-for-beat recounting” of events.

After his ex-girlfriend reached out to her, Sarper met up with the woman, Nur, for a candid chat. “She reached out to me, and she told me that she had stuff she wanted to tell me about her relationship with you, and she didn’t want to text about it,” Shekinah told Sarper before she left. She asked Sarper point-blank if he had feelings for this woman. “No, I never,” he said. Sarper pleaded with Shekinah not to meet up with Nur. “She wants to trash me. That’s why she wanted to meet with Shekinah,” he said. Shekinah felt that Sarper being “so adamant” about her not going to meet with Nur only made her “want to hear what she has to say even more.

It’s easy to forget with this season’s high kill count — including several dozen Targaryen bastards just as of Episode 7 — but “House of the Dragon” Season 2 opened with a moment of ancient power. Not just Jace (Harry Collett) and Lord Cregan Stark (Tom Taylor) visiting the Wall, already centuries old at the time of our story. The “House Stark” theme, which composer Ramin Djawadi wrote all the way back in 2011, makes its return to the world of Westeros. The strings are as aching (and heroic) as they’ve ever been, but the music feels heavier, more poignant, for all the years that we as viewers have lived with Djawadi’s variations of it.
It’s quite something to see — well, to hear — that return of one of “Game of Thrones” core musical identities and know that that’s the amount of oomph Djawadi will have imbued into his variations...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for the Interview With the Vampire Season 2 finale.] All throughout AMC‘s Interview With the Vampire Season 2, fans were worried about how big of a presence Jacob Anderson‘s Louis would have in the potential third season and beyond. These concerns were, in part, due to a podcast interview Anderson gave during which he shared that he said “goodbye” to Louis after they wrapped filming Season 2, making fans worry that Louis was not going to be in future seasons. These concerns rose again when AMC renewed the series on June 26 and announced that Sam Reid‘s Lestat would be the focus of Season 3 (they revealed Lestat’s new look at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 on July 27). While Louis does take a back seat to Lestat in Anne Rice‘s Vampire Chronicles series after the first book, showrunner Rolin Jones has no intentions of sidelining Louis next season. As he told TV Insider’s Damian Holbrook ...

Blink and you’ll miss it, but George R.R. Martin made a subtle “cameo” in House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 7 on Sunday, July 28. “Cameo” is a slight stretch, seeing as Martin himself was not physically in the scene, but his likeness was! The moment came at Harrenhal, when Daemon (Matt Smith) was being put to the test by the new Lord Tully, Oscar (Archie Barnes). Look closely at the weirwood heart tree in the courtyard and you’ll see a face carved in. That face is Martin’s, as revealed by the Season 2 Episode 7 installment of The House That Dragons Built, a behind-the-scenes series tagged onto the end of each episode (and also streaming separately) on Max. The idea to carve Martin’s face into the tree was series creator Ryan Condal, who shares a creator credit with Martin in addition to serving as showrunner and executive producer. “What...

Seen any good TV lately? Better yet: See any good TV businesses lately?
It is no newsflash to report that linear television has been sinking into a financial quicksand pit as streamers hoard the best content for themselves, accelerating cord-cutting. Meanwhile, the same streaming services are either unprofitable or have far-slimmer profit margins than broadcast and cable. This is not exactly the financial future that media companies — and the analysts who study them — banked on.
In 2021, the media analysts at MoffettNathanson forecasted that, by 2024, linear TV would account for $78 billion of a total $149 billion in consumer-spend on video (which also includes box office and home video). If this was “The Price Is Right,” they’d be eliminated for going over — twice.
On July 22, 2024, they acknowledged they were high by 9 percent and 7 percent, respectively. An expected compound annual growth rate (Cagr) of 1.2 percent turned out to be just 0.3 percent. And don...

The Boys’ Erin Moriarty Dissects Her Performer of the Week Episode, Reveals Heath Ledger Inspiration
The Boys star Erin Moriarty looked to a surprising source of inspiration for her performance as a shapeshifter masquerading as Annie in the show’s Season 4 finale.
“I watched Heath Ledger in [The Dark Knight]. So brilliant, and he was only 27 or 26 when he shot that, which is even more insane to me. But I needed to, literally, watch people transcend their physicality [to] know I could do it,” Moriarty tells TVLine’s Keisha Hatchett at San Diego Comic-Con.

Squid Game: The Challenge has a whole new set of stakes — and some familiar ones, too.
In life, there’s probably not much you could say 456 strangers have in common. In the Squid Gameuniverse, however, they’re all bonded by the pursuit of one high-stakes goal: Eliminate everyone else, and take home millions of dollars — no matter what it costs you.
In the 2021 Korean Squid Game scripted series, the stakes are about as high as it gets. The main character in director Hwang Dong-hyuk’s Squid Game is Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), a divorced dad with a gambling problem and a crippling amount of debt. One day, a mysterious man offers him the opportunity of a lifetime: Play a few games, and win the chance to take home millions of dollars. Figuring he doesn’t have much left to lose, Gi-hun finds himself waiting at an...
