With Brockhampton done, Kevin Abstract is ready for a new era. On Wednesday, the musician released the single “Blanket,” a rocky, ominous track that features just a few lyrics with repeating yelps backed by a rocky guitar and drums.

Clocking in at less than 2 minutes long, “Blanket” seems to be the first taste of the new music from a rock album on the way. Abstract recently performed solo shows at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery’s Masonic Lodge and at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right, where he debuted the tracks on the upcoming record.

Los Angeles, May 31 (Ians) Rapper Baby Keem and singer Kendrick Lamar have released a new collaboration ‘The Hillbillies’, produced by Evil Giane, alongside a music video directed by Neal Farmer.

Tyler, the Creator makes a cameo in the montage, displaying a ‘Camp Flog Gnaw 2023′ button on a jacket in front of Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium – confirming the carnival’s long-awaited return, reports ‘Variety’.

‘The Hillbillies’ samples Bon Iver’s ‘Pdlif’ and is the latest joint effort from cousins Lamar and Keem, who previously worked together on tracks such as ‘N95’, ‘Die Hard’, ‘Range Brothers’, ‘Savior’, ‘Nile’, and the Grammy award-winning ‘Family Ties’, among others.

According to Keem’s tweet announcing the collaboration, the single also makes reference to Drake’s ‘Sticky’ off his 2022 album ‘Honestly, Nevermind’.

Produced by White’s frequent collaborator July Da Producer, the track samples Bow Wow’s early 2000s hit “Take Ya Home.” It marks White’s second song to flip a single produced by the Neptunes after his breakout hit “Billie Eilish” was built around N.O.R.E.’s “Nothin’.”

Six months after announcing their “final album,” the group has detailed their last LP, The Family.

As revealed in an album teaser posted Thursday on Brockhampton’s YouTube, The Family will arrive on Nov. 17.

The Family preorder page offers a few more details, with the limited edition box noting that the album is 17 songs and 35 minutes long.

In January, Brockhampton announced they would be going on an “indefinite hiatus.” The group then canceled their 2022 tour dates and stated that their performances at Coachella would be their last.

Shia Labeouf, who got to the quarterfinals of the Page International Screenwriting Awards for up-and-coming screenwriters two years ago for his script for last year’s “Honey Boy,” has now entered a second contest for aspiring scribes. And won.

Earlier this month, the Sun Valley Film Festival declared Labeouf’s “Minor Modifications” the winner of its High Scribe award — which offers him “one-on-one meetings with some of the industry’s finest to discuss their work” as well as “mentoring from an experienced professional.”

Coachella 2020 has been officially postponed due to concerns over the coronavirus. On Tuesday, Variety confirmed that Coachella and Stagecoach have been rescheduled for October.

"At the direction of the County of Riverside and local health authorities, we must sadly confirm the rescheduling of Coachella and Stagecoach due to Covid-19 concerns," Goldenvoice organizers said in a statement. One day after making waves by announcing it had rescinded “Bohemian Rhapsody”‘s nomination in light of new sexual misconduct allegations against Bryan Singer, the GLAAD Media Awards announced the Lgbtq-inclusive films and TV shows that did make the cut for its annual awards.

Notable for cinephiles, this year GLAAD expanded its Outstanding Film – Limited Release category to ten films to reflect the breadth of Lgbtq images in indie film. The category includes two Rachel Weisz vehicles, Yorgos Lanthimos’ “The Favourite” and Sebastián Lelio’s “Disobedience,” as well as Marielle Heller’s “Can You Ever Forgive Me?,” Yen Tan’s “1985,” and Jeremiah Zagar’s “We the Animals.”

Films like “Crazy Rich Asians” and “The Favourite,” as well as artists such as Troye Sivan are among the nominees for the 30th annual GLAAD Media Awards.

The awards, handed out by the world’s largest Lgbtq media advocacy organization, recognizes media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of Lgbtq people and issues. Mj Rodriguez of “Pose” and Nico Santos from “Crazy Rich Asians” announced the nominees on Friday via a live-stream hosted from Park City, Utah, during the Sundance Film Festival.

Other nominees include FX’s “Pose,” Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale,” and artists Janelle Monae and Hayley Kiyoko, as well as media personalities Don Lemon, Stephen Colbert, and Samantha Bee. Variety is up for an nomination as well for overall magazine coverage, alongside Billboard, Ebony, Entertainment Weekly, and GQ.
