Oprah Winfrey is facing harsh criticism for omitting the King of Pop.

Oprah and her The Color Purple co-star, Whoopi Goldberg, appeared on stage together on Sunday night at The Oscars.

During their appearance, the duo paid tribute to legendary American record producer and composer Quincy Jones.

Oprah began the segment by reminding the audience of some of Quincy’s biggest achievements in his lifetime.

The 71-year-old posthumously lauded Quincy as a music genius, recalling his 28 Grammy Award wins.

Jinwoo has become an S-rank Hunter who can defeat powerful monsters and demons, but there are necromancers from other anime series who can defeat him in battle. Some of these necromancers are human, but others are supernatural beings, and one is a literal God.

Many of these necromancers can cancel out Jinwoo's Shadows with their own undead minions, which leaves Jinwoo and his superhuman abilities. This may seem like a daunting task, but a few necromancers can kill Jinwoo in seconds. Others would need to be a bit more creative, but they can still take him down.

Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg and Queen Latifah led a star-studded tribute for Quincy Jones at the Oscars on Sunday night, honoring the prolific musician, producer and film score composer who died in November at the age of 91.

“When we talk about black excellence, we’re talking about Quincy” said Goldberg, who starred in The Color Purple, for which Jones served as producer and composer.

Quincy Jones was perhaps best known for his work in pop and R&b music, but the composer, producer and arranger also left an indelible mark on film music with innovative and genre-defying scores. Honoring his groundbreaking contributions to cinema and song at the 2025 Oscars were Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg and Queen Latifah.

Of Jones, who died in November at the age of 91, Winfrey said: “One’s first thought is musical genius and for good reason.” She cited Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles as artists with whom Jones worked “and the driving force behind ‘We Are The World.’ … But the man, our beloved Q, had an equally important impact on film.”

“When we talk about Black excellence, we talk about Quincy,” added Goldberg from the Oscars stage.

Jones died in November, and Latifah’s performance honored the Grammy-winning producer and film composer who collaborated with Michael Jackson. Throughout his career, Jones won 28 Grammy Awards, six of them for the 1990 album “Back on the Block.”

Bleach's manga uses a handful of techniques to create some incredible panels, such as highly detailed characters and terrain, masterful use of close-ups and clever angles, and a strong sense of motion and energy. Tite Kubo also employs chiaroscuro, an artistic technique that relies on sharply contrasting light and darkness. Even though many of them are fantastic, some manga panels stand out more than others, largely because the scenes they depict have become iconic.

In both Bleach's canon and in the annals of shonen anime and manga, Ichigo Kurosaki is one of the most powerful characters to ever exist. This isn't just because of his status as a shonen anime protagonist but because he has the powers of all his reality's confirmed supernatural races in him. Despite this, some Bleach villains underestimated Ichigo so much that they thought they could defeat him.

For one reason or another, these Bleach villains fell victim to their hubris when they either goaded Ichigo into a fight or they thought they could use him like a puppet. Whichever the case, Ichigo overpowered them and reminded them who they were dealing with. To add insult to injury, their final deaths and humiliations were often not even given to them by Ichigo.

The Bleach anime stars some truly wonderful and memorable heroes, ranging from protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki himself to his classmates and his Soul Reaper allies. They have positive traits any shonen anime fan would approve of, from the power of friendship and incredible courage to a good sense of humor and plenty of love for all. Still, no one in Bleach is perfect, and even the main heroes have some negative traits to balance things out.

Any shonen anime hero ought to have a few flaws, after all, and Bleach's heroes also have relatable flaws that they might work on over time. Some of them have a rough side to their personality, for example, or they remain underpowered for too long or frustrate anime fans by fumbling all their best fights. Fortunately, the worst things about Bleach's heroes are all forgivable and are sometimes minor or harmless, but they also shouldn't be overlooked.

Tite Kubo's Bleach series is one of the cornerstones of modern shōnen anime storytelling. The series still continues to influence current titles, like Jujutsu Kaisen and includes a memorable cast of characters. The series' story and lore are just as comprehensive as it is enjoyable. But if you follow the anime, not everything may make as much sense as it does in the manga.

Despite recent seasons being more faithful to the source material, inconsistencies between the anime and manga's versions of events can still confuse fans. These differences may seem minor, but they can still affect how certain events play out in the series. This is especially troublesome for fans experiencing the series for the first time. These misconceptions can lead to confusion related to certain characters and their place in the story.

Most of the Quincy Schrifts that can beat Jinwoo are overpowered by design. Most of these Schrifts can counter Jinwoo's fighting style, and sometimes they can destroy his body outright. Several Schrifts make Jinwoo's attacks meaningless. Jinwoo can summon Shadows to fight on his behalf, and there are a few Quincy Schrifts that can destroy these Shadows or make them ineffective.

Smith, who won Best Actor at the 2022 Oscars after slapping Rock across the face during the live broadcast, introduced Herbie Hancock and Cynthia Erivo at the start of the Jones tribute. He later returned to the stage to relay an anecdote about Jones, the executive producer of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the television series that helped launch Smith’s acting career. Fullbringers aren't the strongest species in Bleach, but they have a unique place in the shonen anime's lore. Unlike Quincy, they aren't bound to a greater outside force. Ultra Instinct Goku is one of the most powerful characters in all of anime. He is ridiculously strong, fast, and has power on par with Dragon Ball's Gods of Destruction. While Goku still has yet to fully master this ability in the Tournament of Power, it's clear that he stands head and shoulders above the competition. However, there are plenty of other godly beings that could give the Saiyan a run for his money.

People might be surprised at how many other characters can rival and defeat Goku in his Ultra Instinct state. These god-like entities usually only attain this power towards the end of their series or may simply have these powers from the start. Since Soul Reapers don’t age like humans, it’s difficult to pin down their exact ages. This makes Ichigo Kurosaki an underdog in more ways than one — he’s not only facing enemies stronger than him, but also far more experienced. Despite this, Soul Reapers rarely give off the impression of being ancient. Soul Society’s structure, with its noble families and governing system, reinforces the idea that they are organized and seasoned warriors.

Every major story arc in the Bleach anime expands the combat system with new moves, and the Thousand-Year Blood War arc absolutely did its part with the Sternritters' new techniques. They used not just familiar moves like Hirenkyaku and Sklave Rai, but also Vollständig and most of all, their unique Schrifts. Each Schrift is a powerful ability based on the letters of the English alphabet, and some of them have truly outstanding design.

Some Schrifts were rather straightforward and forgettable, such as The Roar and The Power, but other Schrifts have more nuanced and clever designs to make them true threats to the Soul Reapers. The well-designed Shrifts are flashy and cool to watch in combat, and a few of them even have some personal or thematic depths to make them more than mere tools to use in battle against bankai.

The world of Bleach has a diverse set of abilities but there’s one that overwhelms all others: Reiatsu, or spiritual pressure. A character’s Reiatsu can bend a battle in their favor but it can do so much more than just give the character an edge.

Sosuke Aizen, one of the most formidable antagonists in Bleach, implied that if one character’s spiritual pressure is higher, they can negate their opponent’s abilities completely. His own Reiatsu was powerful enough to reduce a person into ash and even when subdued, disintegrate their body parts.

So if he’s so confident in his claim, Ichigo should’ve easily won his battle against the Quincy, Askin Nakk Le Vaar. There’s no possibility that Askin’s Reiatsu is higher than Ichigo’s, who even Aizen subtly admitted has better spiritual pressure.

It’s no surprise that characters have inevitably died in the multitudes of stories that anime has. From romantic dramas like Your Lie in April to the dystopian, war-torn Attack on Titan, none of them are immune to death. Yhwach is the son of the Soul King and King of all Quincy, making him one of the strongest characters in Bleach. Every advanced Quincy technique is at his disposal, and his Spiritual Pressure is immense. The Almighty allows Yhwach to see into the future and alter it, but it provides additonal god-like powers as well. With these powers, Yhwach can easily defeat notable heroes from other anime series.

These anime heroes do not stand a chance against The Almighty, because Yhwach can make himself immune to their abilities or dodge all of their attacks with perfect precision. That said, Yhwach can defeat several heroes without activating The Almighty. In those instances, Yhwach can destroy their bodies with Reishi blasts or simple sword attacks. Yhwach overpowered some of the strongest Soul Reapers alive and absorbed a literal god, so most anime heroes would not pose much of a threat.

Bleach's story focuses mainly on spiritual beings like Soul Reapers, Hollows, and elite Quincy, but there is still room for humble humanity to play a role. The human cast of characters helps keep the anime grounded, reminding fans that for every Soul Society adventure or spirit battle, there is a worthwhile story to tell in the human realm. Karakura Town, in particular, is home to plenty of lovable human characters.

These human characters are often the most relatable and charming cast members in all of Bleach, and every story arc has at least a few of them. Sōsuke Aizen is one of the strongest characters in Bleach. He wields Kyōka Suigetsu, a Zanpakutō that can control all five senses and place others under a form of complete hypnosis. Aizen's Spiritual Pressure is so immense that weaker individuals are torn apart simply by being in his presence. Yhwach labelled Aizen one of the Soul Society's Special War Powers because of his godly Spiritual Pressure, which can counter most abilities. However, there are some Quincy Schrifts that can probably defeat him.

Every Quincy Schrift has the power to take on and defeat Captain-level opponents, but certain Schrifts are incredibly overpowered. Aizen is an immortal being, which means most of these Quincy Schrifts cannot kill him, but they can immobilize or incapacitate him. There is, however, at least one Schrift that can kill him.
