Dmytro Samoilov

A film producer and filmmaker, Dmytro Samoilov, was born in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. At the age of 15, he entered the Metallurgical Engineering College in the city of Dneprodzerzhinsk. After the graduation he moved to Moscow where he spent four years studying at the State University of Management. After graduating with honors, he didn't think to stop his educational path and went to the United Kingdom to master his English. He got to the Northumbria University in Newcastle upon Tyne and after one year of studying came home. Dmytro started his career with a position of a financial manager in a solid Steel and Iron works company. Still, his educational path didn't stop there. Dmytro continued his education as an intern in various financial organizations gaining experience that he immediately projected on his work as a financial manager. As the result, he found himself working for 12 years in various spheres of financial industry.
Dmytro got interested in the film industry after meeting a film producer, Igor Lopatonok, who at that time was on his first steps towards developing colorization technique which he later became famous for. After a few years of friendship, Dmytro found himself working side-by-side with Igor turning black-white classic Soviet Union films into color. By 2008, he left the financial business and plunged into his new devotion which was a filmmaking.
Along with colorizing, he engaged in the projects of a different kind including the production of various commercials and promo clips. He became an initiator of a few independent short films and documentaries. He also engaged in producing the feature films; one of his most known works are "Land of Oblivion" and the documentary "Will of Victory."
His latest work is an animation feature, "The Last Prince of Atlantis", where he took the position of an associate producer and 3D animation supervisor.
