The best Daisy Edgar-Jones movies and TV shows highlight just how quickly the star of Twisters, Fresh, and Where the Crawdads Sing has carved out a reputation for playing complex and nuanced characters. Born in London in 1998, Daisy Edgar-Jones found her footing appearing in comedies in dramas in the UK such as Cold Feet, Outnumbered, and Silent Witness. This began to change in 2018 when she led the cast of the indie coming-of-age movie Pond Life - her feature film debut.
From there, Daisy Edgar-Jones found herself taking up central roles in her TV show projects, such as the 2019-2022 adaptation of War of the Worlds, and the 2020 comedy-drama Normal People (for which she was nominated for multiple awards). However, 2022 was the year that her career skyrocketed, with her name gaining significant attention thanks to breakout roles in Fresh and Where The Crawdads Sing. Under a starry sky surrounded by snow, the second edition of the Aspen Snow Ball took place on Feb. 3 in the celeb-loved ski town. Hosted by the Ball’s founder Thomas Pierce, a film producer and philanthropist, the event was held at the newly renovated St. Regis Aspen Resort. With major contingents from Los Angeles and New York among the guests, people gathered to raise money for children with cancer and blood disorders at the Children’s Hospital Colorado, including TV personality Giuliana Rancic, the evening’s host, and the night’s honorees, fashion designer Rachel Zoe and lawyer-turned-real estate developer Tom Lewis.

Welcome back to Dead Time, where I explore the unknown through discussions with experts on the paranormal, personal experiences, and stories about high strangeness. I’ve always been fascinated by Skinwalker Ranch in Utah, because the ranch has been a hotspot for reports of UFOs, now referred to as UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon) and other unexplained activity since the 1970s—It’s like a real-life X-File. Skinwalker Ranch is located in Uintah County, bordering the Uintah and Ouray Reservation, and lies on land traditionally occupied by the Ute Tribe, but the term skinwalker comes from Navajo legend. In the Navajo culture, a skinwalker is an evil witch who has the ability to shapeshift and turn into an animal. Legend says that during a time of conflict between the Utes and Navajo, members of the Navajo cursed their enemies with the skinwalker, and the skinwalker is rumored to still walk the land today.

Nice vistas and a scenery-chewing Famke Janssen aren’t enough to save this absurd scriptural rehash from movie hell
The latest from evangelical Christian producers Pinnacle Peak – formerly Pure Flix, the money behind the surprisingly enduring God’s Not Dead series – is an adaptation of a Francine Rivers novel that remaps the biblical tale of Hosea on to a western goldrush setting. That synopsis suggests a level of creative imagination and ambition, possibly something like Michael Winterbottom hauling The Mayor of Casterbridge further west for 2000’s The Claim. Yet this movie thinly scatters a parable’s worth of plot across 134 minutes and resembles HBO’s Deadwood recut for Sunday-school purposes: pious, puzzling and punitive, with a sternly wagging finger never far from entering the frame.
Let us give Pinnacle Peak this: they’re getting mildly more sophisticated about delivering The Message. DJ Caruso, a studio director of the mid-00s thrillers Taking Lives and Disturbia,...

“Gentleman Jack” has been canceled at HBO after two seasons, Variety has confirmed.
Set in 19th century Yorkshire, the historical drama is based on the life of Anne Lister (Suranne Jones), a landowner and industrialist who is often referred to as the “first modern lesbian” due to her diaries, written in secret code, that documented her relationships with women. “Gentleman Jack” is a co-production with BBC One and also stars Sophie Rundle, Joe Armstrong, Amelia Bullmore, Rosie Cavaliero, Gemma Whelan, Gemma Jones, Timothy West and Tom Lewis.
“HBO will not be moving forward with a third season of ‘Gentleman Jack,'” the network said in a statement to Variety. “When we began this journey more than five years ago, we knew the series’ creator Sally Wainwright had a uniquely compelling vision, and it’s been tremendously gratifying to see how Anne Lister’s journey has resonated with viewers. Exclusive: Deadline has the first exclusive track from Brian Tyler and Breton Vivian’s score for Redeeming Love, which is set for release tomorrow via Milan Records, as the Universal Pictures title hits theaters.
The film directed by DJ Caruso is a Western romance based on the bestselling novel by Francine Rivers that watches as a young couple’s relationship clashes with the harsh realities of the California Gold Rush of 1850.
For the project marking Tyler’s sixth collaboration with Caruso, he and Vivian looked to craft a sweeping score that captured the heart of its story and themes.
“Composing the score for Redeeming Love was truly one of the most moving experiences of my life. Incredibly directed by long-time collaborator DJ Caruso, the characters imbue such a sense of grace and love that I wanted to…write music that evoked their raw emotion in all of its complexity,” said Tyler.

Two new wide releases open this weekend, but we are looking at another weekend dominated byScream and Spider-Man: No Way Home. The face-off between the two franchise films has animated an otherwise quiet January, and while Scream swiftly displaced Spidey from the top spot last weekend with a steady lead at $30 million compared to $20 million, this weekend’s rematch could be a close one. Spider-Man, going into its sixth weekend, has seen drops in recent weeks of around 40%, and another similar drop this weekend would put it around $12 million. That’s right where Scream would be at with a 60% drop, so this weekend’s number one could go in either direction. With no new wide releases slated for next weekend, expect another rematch for the top spot.

“Scream,” the hit sequel in the long-running slasher series, will keep terrorizing audiences over the weekend.
Only one movie, Universal’s faith-based romantic drama “Redeeming Love,” is opening nationwide, and the poorly reviewed film, which combines a gold-rush setting with a parable about redemption and the oldest profession, isn’t looking like it’ll put up much of a fight on North American box office charts.
That means “Scream,” which debuted at No. 1 last weekend with $34 million over the extended Martin Luther King Jr. holiday frame, should have no trouble staying victorious. The R-rated horror film is tracking to earn $14 million (give or take) in its second weekend of release, representing a standard 50-55% decline from its traditional three-day opening.
Though “Scream” is expected to retain its leading spot, Sony’s comic book behemoth “Spider-Man: No Way Home” won’t be far behind. Now in its sixth weekend of release,...

"You have no idea who she is!" Universal Pictures has debuted the second trailer for the film Redeeming Love, a passionate romance story from filmmaker D.J. Caruso and adapted from Francine Rivers' novel of the same name. Redeeming Love is a powerful retelling of the biblical book of Hosea against the backdrop of the California Gold Rush of 1850. Abigail Cowen and Tom Lewis co-star as Angel and Michael, the two young lovers are the center of this story of love against all odds, as they connect despite their differences. Opening in early 2022 in theaters. "Redeeming Love shows there is no brokenness that love can't heal." The ensemble cast also includes Famke Janssen, Logan Marshall-Green, Nina Dobrev, Livi Birch, Eric Dane, Brandon Auret, Jamie-Lee O'Donnell, and Josh Taylor. This looks like a passionate story of true love, but the religious aspects seem overwhelming. Enough to turn me away from wanting to watch this.

Jeff Goldblum can officially add jazz musician with a major record deal to his resume. The Jurassic Park and Independence Day star has officially signed with Decca Records and will release his first jazz album later this year. At the present time, there are few details about the album, but we can only assume that it will carry with it the usual amount of calm and cool associated with the 65-year-old performer. Goldblum had this to say about his record deal and forthcoming album.
"I'm so happy to be in cahoots with the wonderful people at Decca, one of the coolest and most prestigious labels of all time.
This whole thing came about as the result of a performance from Jeff Goldblum on The Graham Norton Show last year while promoting Thor: Ragnarok. The actor and musician performed the song Mona Lisa with Gregory Porter and the executives at Universal...

Jeff Goldblum is set to record his first jazz album after having signed up with Decca Records Label Group, Decca announced Wednesday. The actor’s jazz piano skills caught the attention of Decca executives after he accompanied soul-jazz singer Gregory Porter on a rendition of Nat King Cole’s “Mona Lisa” on BBC talk show “The Graham Norton Show” last October while promoting “Thor: Ragnarok.”
“I’m so happy to be in cahoots with the wonderful people at Decca, one of the coolest and most prestigious labels of all time,” Goldblum said.
The actor, known around the world for his iconic roles in films including “The Fly,” “Jurassic Park” and “Independence Day,” has played piano since childhood. He regularly plays with his jazz band, The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, around L.A. and at the Café Carlyle in New York. Goldblum also hosts a weekly jazz variety show at L.A.
