A praiseworthy score of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes is reason enough to bring back a second season of the British black comedy Am I Being Unreasonable? Written by and starring Daisy Cooper and Selin Hizli, the show is a beautifully dark concoction of betrayal, female friendship, family and unfiltered honesty. Cooper and Hizli met at drama school, although their friendship didn't get off to the best start. Hizli told The Independent that Cooper compared her to Lily Allen for her arrogance. Evidently, the two got over their differences, and TV is all the better for it.
It's hard to think of much that could've been added (or taken away) from their series to make it any better. The laughs were in the right place, the twists took everyone by surprise and the darker moments left viewers a little creeped-out. Season 2 is due to come out next year with, hopefully, the same...

Warning: Contains spoilers for 'The Legend Of Ruby Sunday'
Ever since Russell T. Davies’ return to the helm of Doctor Who last year, the showrunner has been hard at work filling his new-look Whoniverse’s mystery box with an ever-growing pile of questions. Who is Ruby Sunday’s mum? Why does Susan Twist keep popping up here, there, and everywhere? What’s the deal with the Tardis’ weird groaning? And just who — or what — exactly is The One Who Waits? Well, with ‘The Legend Of Ruby Sunday’, the first in the series’ somehow here already two-part finale, Davies finally gets down to the nitty gritty of doling out some answers. Well, sort of, at least. This is a Russell T. Davies series finale part one after all.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Doctor Who season 14, episode 7, "The Legend of Ruby Sunday."
Unit's scientific advisor in "The Legend of Ruby Sunday" is a temporary replacement while Shirley is away in Geneva. Thirteen-year-old genius Morris is introduced as a stand-in for Shirley, but her return is confirmed for future Doctor Who episodes. Shirley's pivotal role in the Whoniverse's future hints at more Unit stories, possibly leading to a spinoff show featuring key characters.
Doctor Who season 14, episode 7, "The Legend of Ruby Sunday," introduces a new Unit science advisor in place of Shirley Anne Bingham, but there's a narrative reason for the personnel change. Doctor Who's Unit dates back to the show's classic era, and the organization seems to have a bigger part to play than usual in Russell T Davies' second stint as showrunner. Since returning in the Doctor Who 60th-anniversary specials, Unit has been proven to consist of faces old and new.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Doctor Who Season 1 Episode 7 “The Legend of Ruby Sunday.”] Doctor Who digs deep for the Major reveal we’d been waiting all season for as “the one who waits” has been teased (since the 60th anniversary specials!) and Susan Twist has been appearing as different characters every episode. Bonnie Langford is right when she tells TV Insider that this is “exciting and exhilarating and all those things”—there’s no other way to describe it! The latest Twist character is in the present day, under investigation by Unit, bringing Jemma Redgrave, Langford, and Yasmin Finney back as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, Mel Bush (who’s undercover), and Rose Noble, and introducing Lenny Rush as Morris. The most substantial of Twist’s characters, Susan Triad, runs S Triad Technology—and it looks like the name of the company is an anagram of Tardis. Furthermore, with her name the same as the Doctor’s...

Warning: this Doctor Who review contains spoilers.
“Doctor!” says Mel, approximately three minutes before the end of this episode. “There’s something wrong!”
With finely tuned senses like that, you can see why Unit keep her around.
“The Legend of Ruby Sunday” is an odd episode. As is often the case with two-parters, and especially season finales, it’s difficult to judge the first instalment on its own merits, because by design we’re not getting a complete story. It’s basically forty-five minutes of setup, with the payoff deferred until next week. We’re here for the ride, ultimately, for the sense of screws tightening and the queasy feeling as characters lose control and the world around them tumbles towards a big revelatory cliffhanger.
On that level, the episode just about works. As an exercise in pure spectacle and gathering momentum, “The Legend of Ruby Sunday” carries itself along with enthusiasm and charisma.

Doctor Who embraces diversity with disabled characters, opening doors for representation and new talent. Fan-favorite Shirley Bingham, played by Ruth Madley, breaks stereotypes in her wheelchair-adapted role. Lenny Rush's upcoming role as Morris challenges traditional creepy child tropes in Doctor Who.
With a staggering 26 seasons under its belt, there's no denying that Doctor Who has defined its legacy within the sci-fi genre. But, as the franchise gears itself up for another reboot, it seems that the show is doing all it can to attract new audiences. The show has always been ahead of its time, introducing the first female producer as well as the first British Asian director back in 1963. There has also been a striking collection of LGBTQ+ characters, including Bill Potts, Yaz Khan, and Captain Jack Harkness. All of these incarnations have impacted the show's canon and highlight its ability to capture the hearts and minds of many diverse viewers.

First, we got the welcome news that former showrunner and Doctor Who’s most prolific writer Steven Moffat has penned an episode for the new series, which is described as “Hitchcockian” in tone. His episode was directed by Julie-Anne Robinson.
Now, we have a full trailer running to two minutes and change. It’s the most footage of the new series we’ve had so far, from the Tardis crashing through a wall,...

“No job. No boss. Just fun.” That was the offer the Fifteenth Doctor made to Ruby Sunday in the Doctor Who series 14 trailer. ‘And’, he should probably have added, ‘quite a lot of mortal peril,’ – but when has the Doctor ever been upfront with companions about the not-insignificant dangers of travelling in time and space? He probably doesn’t even fill in a risk assessment.
We else do we know about series 14? The first episode will arrive on BBC One, iPlayer and Disney+ on a Saturday in May 2024, and there will be eight episodes in total followed by a Christmas Day special. We also know that the currently-filming series 15 will follow in 2025 with a rumoured new companion.
Aside from that, verified info about the new series is summarised below (catch up on the valiant work of the @set_dw account for non-official but useful clues). We’ll update it all...

The BBC has revealed more details about this year’s Comic Relief telethon, which will be broadcast on 15th March on BBC One.
Comic Relief launched in 1985 with a telethon that has since become embedded in British culture. Known as Red Nose Day, on account of the red noses sold as part of the appeal, over the years this has led to many classic comic moments, from The Young Ones singing Livin’ Doll with Cliff Richard, to Johnny Depp and Sting appearing in The Vicar Of Dibley, to Billy Connolly running naked through Trafalgar Square and Mr Bean infiltrating both Blind Date, and a Torvill and Dean dance routine.
Lenny Henry, who co-founded Comic Relief with Richard Curtis, recently revealed that he will be stepping down as host after this year’s telethon. Henry said of his decision that “when we first started Comic Relief back in 1985, I never dreamed...

Horrors on the high sea are a common enough theme, from Ghost Ship and Deathship to The Haunting of the Mary Celeste and Titanic 666 there are plenty of them. The most recent of these, The Haunting of the Queen Mary opens on Halloween Eve,1938 when the ship’s festivities are replaced with terror as an axe-wielding man hacks his way through its corridors.
The plot then circles back a few hours to show Gwen and David Ratch sneaking into an exclusive party in an attempt to get their daughter Jackie introduced to some Hollywood stars who they hope can help her become the next Shirley Temple.

According to a report, new Doctor Who companion Millie Gibson is leaving after her first series, and her replacement has been cast.
We’ve only had one hour of Ncuti Gatwa’s era of Doctor Who. However, in production terms, the second series is currently filming, and willl be broadcast in 2025.
While there are many advantages to filming so far ahead, one of the disadvantages is that information is harder to keep contained.
Which leads us to some news that was first reported by The Mirror – so do take it with a pinch of salt – but the story’s been picked up by a lot of websites, and it looks as though there’s something in this.
Apparently, Millie Gibson will leave Doctor Who after the 2024 Christmas Special. The new companion is said to be Varada Sethu, who is best known for starring in Neil Cross’ apocalyptic drama Hard Sun.
