Elaha, a new film from director Milena Aboyan, tells the story of a young German woman caught between personal freedom and cultural expectations. We meet Elaha, played vibrantly by Bayan Layla, just weeks before her wedding. She lives in a tight-knit Kurdish community where protecting one’s honor and avoiding shame are top priorities. But Elaha harbors a secret: she is no longer a virgin.
In their daily lives, Elaha and her friends navigate modern city life while respecting Kurdish traditions that bond them with family. Yet an unspoken rule governs relationships, restricting what women can share even with each other.
As her wedding nears, Elaha searches desperately for a solution to appear “pure,” as tradition demands. Elsewhere, her teacher, Miss Stella, played delicately by Hadnet Tesfai, encourages Elaha to consider what truly matters: being the woman of her own choosing.

Scooter Braun is launching a new campaign to support both Palestinians in Gaza who have been affected by the war, as well as families of Israeli hostages.
The 42-year-old music mogul, who is proudly Jewish, says that “you can do two things” at once.
Scooter will be donating $100,000 of his own money to Care.org to get aid to innocent Palestinians and he’s matching that donation with another $100,000 contribution “to the Hostages and Missing Families Forum in Israel to help those families affected by Oct. 7th, and those families still suffering because those hostages deserve and must come home.”
The campaign was announced in a video message on Scooter‘s Instagram page.

Scooter Braun is stepping up his efforts to help the people affected by the Oct. 7th terrorist attacks in Israel and Palestinians suffering from the devastating war in Gaza, with the music mogul keen to stress “you can do two things,” by helping both groups.
The Hybe-America CEO posted a lengthy video on Instagram on Wednesday night that outlined his plans to work with humanitarian agency Care International and the Hostages and Missing Families Forum in Israel, personally donating a total of $200,000 to get much-needed financial support to the people most acutely impacted by the ongoing conflict.
Braun said he, along with his Palestinian-American friend Nasim and Scott Budnik, will be kicking off the Care Together campaign with Care.org next week and that he would be personally donating $100,000. The campaign, Braun says, “will help 200 Palestinian families with sustainable help in this time of need.”

Here are the biggest things I Am A Killer season 4 left out about each killer. The fourth season of the Netflix docuseries focuses on the true stories of six convicted killers, as told directly by them. With first-hand accounts from the killers themselves, I am a Killer provides a unique take on the true-crime television trend. However, keeping the source in mind, it's no surprise that some details of these highly-complicated crimes didn't make it into the 50-minute episodes.
As the latest addition to Netflix's true crime documentaries, I Am A Killer aims to tell every side of the story. In interviewing the families of the victims, officials involved in the investigations, and the killers themselves, the docuseries explores every angle of each crime. Naturally, this results in some conflicting stories, as the guilty attempt to make themselves look innocent and families of the victims paint the murderer as a monster.

In her role, Cambron will report to Moore, supervising film public relations for the company.
“Nasim brings vast expertise and noted publicity success in every kind of film, from tentpole titles to genre pictures to award contenders; with each, we have been impressed with her bold, innovative campaigns that reach each film’s core audience as well as diverse and underserved communities,” Richard and Moore said in a joint statement. “We know filmmakers are equally confident in her ability to create smart messaging that drives box office. Television fans were shocked earlier this year when "Saturday Night Live" alum Nasim Pedrad's "Chad" was canceled by TBS mere hours before the second season was about to premiere. This wasn't an instance where an episode or two were finished and the team was in the process of shooting the rest of the season, either. Season 2 of "Chad" was signed, sealed, and delivered, only to have their plug pulled just before airtime. A few months later, HBO Max quietly dropped the series' first season from their streaming platform, effectively yeeting "Chad" into the digital void, only to remain a distant memory. The cancellation seemed to be collateral damage in the wake of the Warner Bros. Discovery merger, which inspired some pretty drastic changes for both TBS and sibling cable channel TNT.

Nasim Pedrad’s cringe comedy series “Chad” has been saved from certain death. The series, which aired its first season on TBS, will move to the Roku Channel for Season 2, IndieWire has confirmed.
In July, TBS pulled Season 2 from its programming schedule the day it was scheduled to premiere and confirmed to several outlets that the season would not air on the network. The show, which had already wrapped production on the season, was the highest profile consequence of restructuring at the channel following the Warner Bros. Discovery merger. The merger prompted the company, under the leadership of David Zaslav, to cut original scripted programming from TBS and other networks in its portfolio.
A premiere date for Season 2 of the show has not yet been announced. In addition to airing the new season, Roku has also acquired non-exclusive streaming rights to Season 1. This isn’t the first time the video...

Chad is getting a much-needed reprieve at Roku.
Months after TBS canceled the Nasim Pedrad comedy ahead of its second season premiere, the series has been picked up by Roku.
All episodes of Chad Season 2 were in the can prior to the cancellation.
“The Roku Channel is committed to championing creativity and fostering great storytelling,” Colin Davis, head of scripted originals at Roku, said in a statement shared by Deadline.
“Chad is a story years-in-the-making that deserved to be told. We’re thrilled to be partnering closely with Nasim and her team to bring the next chapter of this exceptional series both to existing fans, as well as sharing it for the first time with new audiences, on The Roku Channel.”
“So much of my heart is infused in this show,” Pedrad said in a statement.

Nasim Pedrad’s comedy Chad is getting a second chance.
The series, in which Pedrad plays an awkward high schooler, will move to the Roku Channel for its second season. Exclusive: Chad has found a new home.
The second season of Nasim Pedrad’s coming-of-age comedy series will run on The Roku Channel after it was scrapped as part of the cost-cutting measures at Warner Bros. Discovery cable network TBS.
As Deadline revealed, Chad was one of a number of shows and movies — completed or in various stages of pre-production or production — that were dropped after CEO David Zaslav took charge of the combined company. While the others were permanently shelved to use as corporate tax write-downs, following a plea by Pedrad to the new TBS leadership, she and her team were allowed to shop the series.
Roku, which previously acquired the Quibi library, will now exclusively carry the second season of Chad, which is completed and was initially set to premiere on TBS in April and then in July. The streamer also has picked up the non-exclusive rights to...
