Didintle Khunou is an award-winning screen, stage and voice actor born in Klerksdorp, South Africa. She discovered her interest in acting as a storytelling device at the age of 16. Shortly after receiving a B.A Hons in Dramatic Arts Degree from the University of Witwatersrand in 2016, she began acting in theatre, films and television shows. Didintle is best known for her portrayal of one of the most coveted roles in musical theatre, Celie, in The Color Purple Musical. South Africa was the first country after The West End and Broadway to stage the The Color Purple Musical in 2018. Didintle was honored with a Broadway World Online and a Naledi Award for the 'Best Lead Actress In a Musical' for her performance as Celie.
Didintle's goal is to become an Actor-Director-Producer-Musician. She uses her artistic agency to create art that is spiritually uplifting and moving. Her aim is to collaborate with artists locally and globally to make art that builds awareness and shines light on important social issues.
