Taylor Swift added an exclamation point to the debate when she endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. On Wednesday night, Jimmy Kimmel explained why the move has become especially embarrassing for Donald Trump.
Swift posted to Instagram following the debate between Harris and Trump, making it clear she's voting for the vice president. The pop star also made reference to Team Trump using AI-generated images to suggest Swift supported the former president.
So for Swift to essentially break the internet in support of Kamala Harris was salt in the wound for Donald Trump. Commentators, the public, and politicians were already crushing him for his poor debate performance.
Jimmy Kimmel's monologue on Wednesday further explained how embarrassing things got for Donald Trump. And it all started with his running mate.

The Simpsons has proven to be surprisingly relevant in modern politics these days — from the show’s accidental prediction of Kamala Harris’ candidacy, to the way Ted Cruz keeps referencing episodes in a failed effort to seem not horrible. So perhaps it’s not that surprising that one classic episode showcased a conspiracy theory that seems to crop up in every single election cycle.
Season Six’s “Sideshow Bob Roberts” finds Bart’s archenemy running as the Republican candidate for Mayor of Springfield, and winning in a landslide thanks to the help of a Rush Limbaugh-esque blowhard. But with a Deep Throat-like informant (Smithers) on their side, Bart and Lisa are able to discover Bob’s nefarious scheme: Most of the votes came from dead people, including Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and The Big Bopper.

Donald Trump imploded on the debate stage against Kamala Harris on Tuesday night. The former president fell for obvious bait presented by the vice president, delivered a series of angry diatribes in the style of his rallies, and told lies that repeatedly forced ABC News’ moderators to fact-check him in real-time.
Right-wing lawmakers and commentators are offering a menu of excuses to minimize the damage. In the post-debate spin room and on social media, the former president’s allies are floating everything from moderator bias, to conspiracies about hidden earpieces,...

Philadelphia — The clearest sign that Kamala Harris’ campaign thought she won the ABC presidential debate was the fact that her elated surrogates in the post-debate spin room were gloating about “finally landing a punch on Donald Trump” — and floating the possibility of a rematch.
The clearest sign Trump knew he lost was the fact that Trump himself appeared in the spin room to defend his debate performance on Tuesday night.

The Department of Justice announced charges Wednesday against two Russian state media employees for funneling $10 million to an unidentified media company in the United States.
The criminal case names two defendants, Kostiantyn Kalashnikov and Elena Afanasyeva, both charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering and violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act. Their scheme was allegedly valued around $10 million. The defendants are at large.
Though the case does not name the company to which Kalashnikov and Afanasyeva allegedly directed money, it is described as a “Tennessee-based online content creation company” that publishes English-language videos and information on TikTok, YouTube, X (formerly Twitter) and other social media which they favor in furtherance of Russian interests. The case notes that the company — given the name “Company-1” — was publicly launched in November 2023, and “has posted nearly 2,000 videos that have garnered more than 16 million views on YouTube alone.”

The newest song from Lara Trump, the former president’s daughter-in-law, “Hero” was met with backlash on social media.
The song was originally released in May. However, Lara and co-performer Madeline Jaymes only released the music video on August 23.
It was recorded to honor firemen and police officers who risked their lives for public safety. It shows dark shots of Lara and Jaymes singing in a music studio and, at times, on a fire escape.
window._taboola = window._taboola || []; _taboola.push({ mode: 'thumbnails-mid', container: 'taboola-mid-article-thumbnails', placement: 'Mid Article Thumbnails', target_type: 'mix' });
The video is cut with a photo montage of actual firefighters and what appears to be staged footage of firefighters rescuing people.
Together, these women sang the lyrics: “You’re going through the fire, and the flames getting higher/You’re my hero/You’re my hero/You’re climbing up the ladder and the screams getting louder/You’re my hero.

Last week, Lara Trump (RNC co-chair and daughter-in-law of Donald Trump) released a video of herself recording a tribute to firefighters called “Hero.” And while her intentions may have been good, her vocals on the song were not.
The ballad opens with the voice of Madeline Jaymes, an artist with less than 1,500 followers who describes herself as a “sickly Victorian child” in her Instagram bio. Unlike Trump, Jaymes can sing, and she hits some high notes over a soft piano as reenactments of firefighters saving a little girl from a...

Stephen Colbert Pleads With Democrats After Raising $500 Million: ‘You Can Stop Texting Now’ | Video
Stephen Colbert is psyched for Kamala Harris’ history-making nomination as the Democratic pick for president, but he has notes for the party.
“The launch of Harris’ campaign has been a tremendous success. In one month, they have raised around $500 million,” Colbert said on Thursday night. “Congratulations, Democrats. You can stop texting now.”
“I keep texting back, ‘Stop,’ and I keeping getting back, ‘Oh, this is not the same person. This is a totally different person. Five dollars, please,'” the CBS host continued.
All this week, “The Late Show” has been airing live shows from Chicago as part of its DNC coverage. Colbert spent the first part of his monologue comparing and contrasting the DNC and the RNC. During its second night, the DNC crushed the RNC’s ratings by 39%, a landslide that Colbert partially credited to the speakers at these two events. While the RNC brought out Lara Trump...

The Republican National Committee has moved to intervene in a new federal lawsuit that alleges county election boards throughout Georgia have illegally removed roughly 1,000 voters from voter registration rolls at the behest of election denial activists, Rolling Stone and American Doom have learned. Many of the voters removed from the rolls are homeless, the lawsuit alleges.

This month, GOP operatives and others close to Donald Trump have grown increasingly nervous over trends they’ve seen in recent private polling data produced by different Republican organizations and conservative allies.
It’s not just the swing-state polling or the national surveys that are causing distress lately. The anxiety-spiking numbers are coming out of Trump strongholds like Ohio and Florida, according to three GOP sources, including two people close to the former president, who have reviewed the private polls.

After months of conspicuous absence from public life, former First Lady Melania Trump made a rare appearance at the Republican National Convention on Thursday.
In a break with longstanding precedent among former first ladies and the wives of presidential hopefuls, Melania did not address the convention — as she did in 2016 and 2020 (the 2020 speech was made from the White House as Covid-19 prevented an in-person convention). She did stride through the arena in Milwaukee, though, getting a few minutes of screen time as classical music played.

Milwaukee — This week’s Republican National Convention has the air not so much of a nominating celebration, but of a jubilant Trump 2024 victory party.
After her convention speech on Tuesday night, Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump made a late night appearance at the Lone Star Social, a glitzy afterparty for the Texas delegation, held in an ornate, columned hall called the Grain Exchange, where waitstaff served glasses of champagne and platters of deviled quail eggs.

Tucker Carlson is among the celebrity names slated to speak at next week’s Republican National Convention, reportedly in a plum spot on Thursday night before Donald Trump himself accepts the party nomination.
In addition to a long list of elected officials who are backing Trump, the speaker lineup also includes celebrities like Amber Rose, the model, rapper and former stripper; Dana White, the CEO of UFC; and Savannah Chrisley, the TV personality whose parents are serving prison time for fraud and tax evasion. Also on the bill: Lee Greenwood and Chris Janson.
Notably missing from the lineup: Former First Lady Melania Trump and the former president’s daughter, Ivanka Trump. They each spoke at the 2016 and 2020 conventions.

With just months to go before the November election, Donald Trump’s political machine is operating in full force. Endorsements are rolling out in Truth Social posting sprees, and candidates hoping to ride the former president’s coattails into office lavish praise upon him at his weekly rallies. But in recent weeks, a string of defeats and close calls for Trump-backed candidates in battleground state primaries is once again pulling back the curtain on the former president’s limitations, and echoing concerns raised by the party in past election cycles.

Barron Trump is being called ‘The new Melania Trump’ and for some people, that isn’t a compliment at all. While a lot of people believe that the young man carries himself in a regal manner in the same way that his mother does, others think that he has a hard time showing emotion, just like the former First Lady.
Either way, many critics can’t help but scratch their heads over the young boy’s behavior and are also wondering what good will come out of it. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump, has been slammed on social media for declaring that presidential debates have always been “rigged” in President Joe Biden’s favor.
Early on May 15, Biden and Trump agreed to participate in a presidential debate on CNN on June 27 and a second debate on ABC on September 10.
Lara said during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity that “the scales have always been tipped against Donald Trump.”
Hannity condemned the forthcoming debates. Trump had said that he was willing to debate Biden under any conditions. The host demanded “no notes” and “no teleprompters.”
Despite this, Lara hinted that Trump is ready to take on his opponent.
“And this year more than ever, with all the lawfare, with all we’ve seen against him — in some crazy way, Sean, they’ve actually prepared him for this moment because he’s not afraid...

Donald Trump’s reaction to last night’s White House Correspondents Dinner shows the much-indicted ex-potus still sucks at being the butt of a joke.

The chants and shouts of pro-Palestinian demonstrators disrupted the entry to the Washington Hilton for this year’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, but once inside, attendees were greeted with what has become the usual scene: Celebrities on the red carpet, a crush for the security line and glitterati packed into a cavernous ballroom.

Fleecing his supporters is not enough for Donald Trump, who is now asking down-ballot 2024 Republican candidates to fork over a portion of their fundraising if they use his name and likeness in their campaign.
According to Politico, the Trump campaign sent a letter to vendors informing them that “all candidates and committees who choose to use President Trump’s name, image, and likeness split a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee Jfc.”

Former President Donald Trump’s new joint fundraising agreement with the Republican National Committee (RNC) allows donations to the party to be funneled to his campaign and Pac to cover his legal expenses.
Under the arrangement, Republican donors will see a portion of their money go toward helping Trump pay off his staggering legal bills before they are used for the national and state parties during the election season.
The details of the joint fundraising agreement were mentioned in the fine print of an April 6 fundraiser invite.
This invitation mentions that donations to the joint fundraising committee, the Trump 47 Committee, will initially be used to give the maximum amount allowed under Federal Election Commission (Fec) guidelines to the Trump campaign.
The remaining money will go toward the maximum donation to the Save America Pac, and any money left will be granted to the RNC and state political parties.

Eric Trump said he “guarantees” his father, Donald Trump, will win the 2024 election over President Joe Biden, he told Fox & Friends this week.
Eric cited the criticism of the Biden Administration from “upset” Americans. He also mentioned the gag order against Trump and his sons that would prohibit him from discussing his legal battles.
Recently, several conservatives have expressed disappointment in Trump’s new abortion policy. Eric claimed they would still vote for him, claiming there is “only one option” in the election.
“I know we’re going to win. I know we’re going to win because I know where this country is,” Eric stated. “I can feel the sentiment of this country. And people are not buying what’s happening right now. The mainstream media, they’ll keep on peddling their nonsense.”

The Republican National Committee (RNC) is using robotic calls to spread inaccurate information about the 2020 election with scripted calls to voters’ phones on behalf of the new co-chair, Lara Trump, Donald Trump‘s daughter-in-law.
Despite calls from prominent Republicans to focus on the future and win in 2024, the RNC, under Lara’s leadership, continues to propagate baseless claims about massive fraud in the last election.
As a commentator and surrogate for the former president, Lara has consistently supported Trump’s unfounded allegations. The recent call obtained by CNN, estimated to have reached approximately 145,000 recipients between April 1 and 7, echoed Lara’s previous statements.
The scripted call alleged various forms of election fraud, such as the absence of photo IDs, unsecured ballot drop boxes, mass mailing of ballots and voter rolls that contained deceased individuals and non-citizens. It even suggested that Democrats aim to cancel out legitimate votes with those cast by non-citizens.

As the Republican National Committee spammed phones across America on behalf of new co-chair Lara Trump, Donald Trump’s baseless claims of a stolen election echoed through speakers.
“We all know the problems. No photo IDs, unsecured ballot drop boxes, mass mailing of ballots, and voter rolls chock full of deceased people and noncitizens are just a few examples of the massive fraud that took place,” the pre-recorded message fear-mongered. “If Democrats have their way, your vote could be canceled out by someone who isn’t even an American citizen.

Trump went on to name Special Counsel Jack Smith, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and President Joe Biden. Trump referred to them as “deranged” and “evil and sick.” The former President also referred to Willis’ affair with Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade.

Former President Donald Trump has ridiculed the former Republican National Committee (RNC) chair Ronna McDaniel on Truth Social twice after she was terminated by NBC News.
NBC News fired McDaniel as a political analyst just days after hiring her after a revolt among its anchors and staffers at the news division, who asked why a person who supported Trump’s false statements about the 2020 election was hired in the first place.
“Wow,” Trump wrote. “Ronna McDaniel got fired by Fake News NBC. She only lasted two days, and this after McDaniel went out of her way to say what they wanted to hear. It leaves her in a very strange place, it’s called Never Neverland, and it’s not a place you want to be.”

Donald Trump‘s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), has recently unveiled a new song that has been met with scathing criticism – even from many of her own social media followers.
Last year, Lara showcased her musical aspirations with a widely mocked cover of Tom Petty‘s iconic hit, “I Won’t Back Down.” Her latest track, titled “Anything is Possible,” now faces similar derision from internet critics.
The song itself is intended as an inspirational ballad and features lyrics such as “Don’t think, just jump / You can’t give up / Know that anything is possible.”
Numerous X users among Lara’s have not held back in their scrutiny. “‘Anything’ isn’t possible,” quipped one user. “Even auto-tune couldn’t salvage your karaoke-like voice. Just leave us alone and walk away. You have the means to travel anywhere on a private plane with your wealth.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) is currently in the process of hiring new staff and reports have emerged regarding a specific question asked during interviews: “Was the 2020 election stolen?”
Applicants who had interviews with the RNC revealed that former President Donald Trump‘s loyalist, new RNC Chairman Michael Whatley and co-chair Lara Trump, have inquired about the viewpoints of potential employees who had worked in crucial states in the 2020 election. These inquiries were made regarding their perspective on the outcome of the last presidential election.
When Whatley started at the RNC earlier this month, he initiated a purge of employees, which was described as a “bloodbath,” leaving many jobs vacant.
In one interview, a prospective employee recounted being asked the question, “Was the 2020 election stolen?” while in the presence of two top Trump advisers.

NBC News has cut ties with former RNC chair Ronna McDaniel, just days after she was announced as a paid analyst for the network. There had been a growing internal backlash at the division over her hire.

Last week, allies of former President Donald Trump officially took over the Republican National Committee (RNC).

The Republican National Committee (RNC) has initiated a brutal round of staff layoffs shortly after a team handpicked by Donald Trump assumed control of the organization. The cuts extend across various departments and include mid-level employees, as well as vendors. Insiders are calling it a “bloodbath.”
While it is common for national committees to experience staff turnover after a presidential nominee is chosen, the scale of these layoffs is unusually extensive and highlights the former president’s desire for absolute control over the party.
The layoffs have affected top officials in communications, the political department and the data team.

Ronna McDaniel announced her resignation as the chair of the Republican National Committee, as President Donald Trump looks to place a team of loyalists as the leaders of the party.

Donald Trump‘s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, said she believes GOP donors would support the Republican National Committee paying the former president’s legal fees.
Lara was endorsed by her father-in-law to be the Republican National Committee’s co-chair. During a South Carolina campaign, Lara said GOP voters may want to see the RNC pay for Trump’s legal fee if they view his cases as political persecution.
“That’s why people are furious right now. And they see the attacks against [Donald Trump]. They feel like it’s an attack not just on Donald Trump but on this country.”
The former president faces millions of dollars in legal fees along with the judgments’ costs. Trump was recently ordered to pay a whopping $355 million in damages for his civil fraud case.
Lara stated she was unsure of how the RNC would handle the payments, but that his supporters would want to have the costs covered.
