Encanto is still waiting for its sequel, as despite its success, a new installment has yet to be officially announced by Disney. However, John Leguizamo has hinted that Encanto 2 may be closer to happening than fans might realize.
Leguizamo discussed the possible sequel in a new interview with People at the opening night for the Buena Vista Social Club. He shared how he's just as eager as the fans to see Encanto get a sequel, though he has the advantage of knowing the decision makers. Leguizamo teased that he's been personally badging the Encanto team about getting progress moving on a follow-up film, sharing a promising update on the movie finally happening.
"I'm also waiting for an Encanto 2 when all we do is talk about Bruno," Leguizamo quipped, referring to "We Don't Talk About Bruno," the popular song featured in the film. "I'm calling them everyday saying 'When is number two coming?...

The biopic seems to be one of Hollywood's current obsessions, with inspiring movies telling the true stories of iconic women growing in popularity. This comes as no surprise since they highlight the many achievements and challenges that influential and beloved figures in pop culture have experienced on their journeys to success. Recently, films like Pablo Larraín's Maria starring Angelina Jolie and Sophia Coppola's latest cult classic Priscilla, have done well with critics and at festivals.
As modern Hollywood chooses to tell more female-led stories, biopics have followed suit. Many of them tell inspiring tales, charting the challenges faced by some of history's most notable women. The best biopics are capable of bringing history to life and giving modern audiences a sense of the person beyond their achievements. The best biopics about women give a spotlight to their legacies and also shed light on important issues in society that women still face.

Karol G is responding to the backlash against “+57,” a major collaboration featuring the singer alongside Colombian stars like Maluma, Feid, J Balvin, Ryan Castro, and Blessd. In recent years, the theatre world has witnessed a massive influx of Broadway shows based on films. Stage adaptations of Hollywood hits like Back to the Future, Moulin Rouge, and Beetlejuice have been dominating Broadway, both in terms of ticket sales and critical reception. Even lesser-known works, like the 2007 Israeli film, The Bands Visit, have been brought to the stage, and even gone on to win the coveted Tony Award for Best Musical. Now, with the massive success of these adaptations, audiences must begin to wonder what films may be getting reborn on the stage next.
Of course, not every major motion picture can be seamlessly translated to a different medium. Big-budget films that rely on complex visual effects and numerous locations are often impossible to properly convey on stage. However, films that rely on only a handful of characters within a relatively contained setting typically have excellent potential when...

In Encanto, Mirabel stands out for not having a magical gift like her family, causing tension with Abuela Alma. While Dolores is suspected of being the villain in the story, the lack of a traditional antagonist makes Encanto unique. Abuela, with her controlling nature, comes closest to being the antagonist by stifling her family's individual growth for the sake of tradition.
Disney's Encanto, which tells the story of the magical Madrigals, doesn't have a bad guy, but one theory speculates Dolores was the secret villain. Mirabel Madrigal is the only Madrigal family member in Encanto who doesn't get a magical gift. Unfortunately, this strains her relationship with Abuela Alma, who is worried about losing the miracle and letting her family and their village down, so she doesn't always treat Mirabel well. However, when the family's magical house begins to crack, Mirabel's lack of powers drives her to figure out the...

When Maluma dropped “Sin Contrato” with Fifth Harmony in 2015, he was seeking zero commitment with a new lover. On “Contrato,” his cumbia mexicana single that dropped Friday, Maluma is looking for a “contract renewal” with an ex-girlfriend he misses.
“And if they have seen me at a party, it was to look for you and now I can’t find your replacement,” he sings in Spanish. “Don’t worry, let’s go step by step.”

“Le Monde est à Vous,” translated to The World Is Yours, is the moniker for Pharrell Williams’ third collection with Louis Vuitton in his role helming the French luxury brand’s men’s division. With more than 75 looks, Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2025 line accentuated a broad range of colorful gradient pieces that pulled inspiration from the creative director’s musical heritage. Williams has been outspoken about his lifelong experience as an artist who has sound-color synesthesia — an innate way of perceiving music as color — to illustrate a deeper visual story. This season’s Louis Vuitton collection upholds his aptitude for blending song and color to create a beautiful portrait of Black American fashion.
The June 18 show kicked off with a grand live orchestra, whose members all donned silk-lined pixelated-checkered Louis Vuitton garb as they carried their instruments to the base of the runway in Paris at the city’s Unesco center.

Although some celebrities shy away from the topic of their famous parents, that's never been the case for Mau y Ricky. The Venezuelan singer-songwriters are the sons of Latine pop icon Ricardo Montaner. However, the talent in the Montaner family doesn't end with Mau, Ricky, and Ricardo. Mau and Ricky's sister, Evaluna Montaner, and their brother-in-law, Camilo, are also impacting the industry. If you listen closely, the elder Evaluna and Camilo's voices can be heard on Mau y Ricky's new album "Hotel Caracas," which also marked the brothers' return to Venezuela for the first time in over a decade. Family and community are core tenets for the duo.
"There's no hiding the obvious," Ricky Montaner says of his famous family. "I'm proud as a family that we've been able to lift each other up, inspire each other, and connect with people in this way. It's beautiful and special."

Award-winning Colombian director-producer Simon Brand and Miami-based media executive producer Daniel Eilemberg have joined forces with the founders of Emmy-winning Imaginer Films, Julio César and Laura Franco, to launch Clover Studios, a new production services company in Colombia.
The new enterprise is in response to Colombia’s phenomenal growth as a major production center, driven by its competitive production incentives and flourishing creative community.
Led by Netflix’s ambitious series adaptation of Nobel Laureate Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s literary masterpiece “100 Years of Solitude,” which has entailed a full-scale recreation of the mythical village of Macondo and 20,000 extras, a number of high-profile projects have been lured to the country.
Just last year, upcoming sequel “Paddington in Peru” was mostly shot in Colombia instead of the country in its title. This month Netflix announced its first multi-year creative partnership with Colombian talent, the writer-director team Camilo Prince and Pablo González, whose thriller “The Hijacking of Flight 601,...

The boys are living their Godfather fantasy.
On Thursday, J Balvin released his new single “Triple S” featuring Jowell & Randy, and De La Ghetto, along with its Corleone family-esque video, which sees the four men showing up to a blood-filled mansion as mafiosos.
As they drop bars about a woman who’s “single, strong, and not to be messed with,” the four men walk through a large home in preparation for a dinner, in which guests end up falling like flies after taking sips of their drinks and bites of their food.
