- Was a leading union activist for garment workers in New York City for over 50 years. Assisting many Latin American workers, she became friends with a fellow Salvadoran worker by the name of Reyna Marroquin. Marroquin, confided to Andrade that she was having an affair with her American boss who was married with three children and that she was also pregnant with his child. In January 1969, Marroquin disappeared without a trace.
Thirty years later (1999), Marroquin's remains were found in a barrel hidden in a discrete section of a Long Island house that formerly belonged to Howard B. Elkins, Marroquin's former boss and lover. Police were able to identify Marroquin's remains due to a small phone book found with her remains that contained Andrade's number (which surprisingly had remained unchanged after three decades). With Andrade's assistance and DNA analysis, Marroquin's remains were identified. Before they could arrest him for Marroquin's murder, Howard Elkins committed suicide at his new home in Florida.
