Given the frequency with which the coaches on The Voice make decisions that leave us howling, it was with some trepidation that I sat down to watch Monday’s episode. Since the Playoffs weren’t live this season, that meant that viewers would have no say in their outcome, and it would be entirely up to Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan to choose which contestants stay and which contestants go. And three out of five members of each team were going to be cut. “That is super Hunger Games,” Kelly observed. Was I — and possibly...

Chlöe is preparing to take over the music industry. The star is releasing her debut full-length album, "In Pieces," on March 31, and she feels the sky is the limit in terms of where the project can go.
For the 24-year-old artist, making a project as big as "In Pieces" felt like "creatively birthing a child," she tells Popsugar. It's also been a long time coming. "I was working on that for three years," Chlöe (real name Chloe Bailey) says, recalling the slow-burning process of crafting her first LP. The star has definitely been busy during this time frame, including roles in "Swarm" and the upcoming movie "Praise This," which dives into the world of competitive gospel choirs.
Working on multiple creative projects at once has been a bit of a balancing act, to say the least. Recording sessions for "In Pieces" often blurred into filming "Praise This," sometimes requiring her to forfeit sleep.

Art imitates life for Chloe Bailey, who stars in the upcoming movie "Praise This" as an ambitious young singer named Sam whose music career seems to be taking off in a huge way. There are some big differences about her life and Sam's, though - Bailey is already a massive star, and also, "Praise This" follows Sam's journey into the world of competitive gospel youth choirs.
The trailer, released on March 6, finds Sam unhappily stuck in Atlanta after being sent away from Los Angeles for the summer by her concerned father to live with her upbeat cousin Jess (Anjelika Washington). Things start to take off when Jess persuades Sam to join her faltering praise team, and Sam eventually dives in, determined to help the group win a national championship competition while launching her music career.

Is a long-standing “The Voice” curse about to be broken? If Gwen Stefani‘s R&b singer Rose Short ends up winning Season 17 during next week’s finale, she’ll make history as the first artist to prevail who was previously saved by Twitter. Since the Instant Save twist was first created in Season 6, no recipient has ever gone on to win “The Voice.” Britton Buchanan came the closest in Season 14 by being the runner-up to winner Brynn Cartelli, but all of the other times — including last season with Andrew Sevener — the saved artist finished last in their respective finales.

It’s official: There’s a curse on “The Voice” Instant Save.
Ever since this twist was created back in Season 6, no artist that’s been saved by Twitter or brought back via a wild card has ever gone on to win the show. Even more troubling, all of the Instant Save recipients have placed last in their respective finales aside from Britton Buchanan, who defied the odds to place second to Brynn Cartelli in Season 14. This year Andrew Sevener of Team Blake Shelton tried his hardest to break the curse but he, too, ended up placing last in Tuesday’s season finale.

The 14th champion of “The Voice” is set to be crowned on Tuesday, May 22 but according to our latest Gold Derby odds, it may not be the artist most fans were expecting. Team Alicia Keys‘ Britton Buchanan has been the favorite to take home the grand prize throughout most of the season, but things were shaken up during the Tuesday, May 15 live results show. The frontrunner hit a major roadblock when he failed to earn enough votes to yield a Top 3 finish, forcing him to battle it out for the final Instant Save of the season. Since the Instant Save made its debut in Season 6, no artist advancing to the finale by this method has ever won “The Voice.” In fact, they all finished in last place in their finales.

We've made it to The Voice season 8 finale! Joshua Davis, Koryn Hawthorne, Meghan Linsey and Sawyer Fredericks each performed an original song, a new song and a duet with their coach on Monday night and now it's time to announce the winner.
So who will win season 8? While Josh is my personal favorite artist, I would predict that Sawyer's going to win this season. Sawyer has had such a huge following throughout the competition that he's a clear frontrunner. However, Meghan also has a chance to win. She's obviously really talented and has the experience to back her up. While Koryn has a great voice, I don't think she's going to win.
