Daniel 'Buddy' Thomas

I am an LA-based cinematographer, and Local 728 Chief Lighting Technician. I became fascinated with film photography and lighting while working as a photojournalist in Oklahoma and Colorado, and eventually realized my goal of being a cinematographer. Stepping into set lighting to refine my knowledge and joining Local 728 was the best decisions I made for my career. I have been extremely lucky to work with and share experiences with amazing and kind-hearted cinematographers, and words cannot express my gratitude for the knowledge that has been bestowed upon me.
