The Great Indian Kapil Show, on its seventh episode of season 2, welcomed the team of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, director Anees Bazmee, lead actor Kartik Aaryan, and the Manjulikas Triptii Dimri and Vidya Balan. However, the episode, despite such a vibrant cast of a horror comedy, never took off!

The entire episode, despite some great innovations for characters like Krushna Abhishek’s Wallahdin (brother of Aladin) and Kiku Sharda’s Jinn, fell flat for lack of punches. In fact, even guests as engaging as Kartik and Vidya could not have saved this disaster.

India’s massive population and its embrace of multiple forms of video streaming are having far-reaching implications for the country’s content industries, its wider economy and the country’s position on the international stage, says an in-depth new report.

“Beyond Screens – Streaming VoD’s Impact on the Creative Economy,” was published Wednesday. It was commissioned by Prime Video India and conducted by Singapore-based Media Partners Asia.

In the first week of its debut on Netflix, Maharaj failed to enter the global top 10 charts on Netflix. This in turn means that the the Yashraj film failed to garner even 1.1 million views on Netflix in the first week. Lohusa took 10th place on the global list with 1.1 million views.

This clearly means that Maharaj has garnered at least less than 1.1 million views since it could not secure a spot in the top 10 list of the non-English films trending on Netflix globally.

Not many might know, but Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan has already made his film debut with a Netflix Original film titled Maharaj, which has been streaming on Netflix. The film was supposed to be released 10 days earlier but was stopped from releasing after the High Court’s intervention.

But finally, it won the court case and is streaming on Netflix, receiving mixed responses from the audiences and the critics alike. But the real test would lie in the performance in the first week.

This year, Netflix has had its lowest debut week with Varun Grover’s All India Rank with 1.1 million views, followed by Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi‘s Merry Christmas, which garnered 1.2 million views. Meanwhile, the biggest Netflix debut was Animal with 6.2 million views in its opening week.

Mirzapur season 3 trailer has been finally arrived with glimpses of Pankaj Tripathi, Vijay Verma fighting for the throne and Ali Fazal, Rasika Duggal and Shweta Tripathi taking the lead. The trailer itself starts with the punchline – Kaleen Bhaiya gone & Guddu Pandit on.

But is Kaleen Bhaiya really gone? Well, the trailer confuses me until Pankaj Tripathi arrives with his deep baritone. The show produced by Farhan Akhtar and Riteish Sidhwani is more violent and bloody this time.

It gets more intense with all that happened in the past, forming the premise of the new season Rasika Duggal taking the reign of Mirzapur in her hands (read Pallu). With more drama, fights, plannings and plotting, Mirzapur Season 3 is already pumping up the excitement just the right amount.
