Zero Day is one of Netflix's most popular and talked about shows at the moment, which doesn't come as a surprise given its compelling storyline and amazingly talented cast. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a show starring big names such as Robert De Niro, Angela Bassett, Jesse Plemons, Lizzy Caplan, Connie Britton, etc.?
The entire first season of the new political thriller dropped on Netflix on Feb. 20, and with just six episodes, it didn't take long for viewers to binge-watch the whole installment. As expected, many rushed to search for details about a potential second season. However, they may not find the news they were hoping for. With Zero Day being billed as a limited series, the chances of it returning with a new season are slim, as its storyline is intended to be a self-contained narrative.
While this is disappointing news, there's no need to fret...

The Night Agentis one of Netflix's most popular action shows. The series has had two extremely successful seasons, with its debut season releasing in 2023. The first season performed so well that a follow-up season was confirmed a mere week after the release of Season 1. Now, Season 2, which was released only days ago, is already dominating Netflix's US charts. Given its success, it comes as no surprise that a third season of The Night Agent is also in the works.
In fact, the series' third season was confirmed prior to Season 2's release, clearly demonstrating Netflix's faith in The Night Agent. Led by Gabriel Basso in the titular role of FBI-agent-turned-Night-Agent Peter Sutherland, the series is packed with conspiracies involving the highest levels of government, explosive action and the most unexpected plot twists. Season 1 saw Peter rescue the President from an assassination attempt, while Season 2 took the agent into a global sphere.

This January, Netflix's acclaimed series The Night Agentreturned for its highly anticipated Season 2. The season finale concluded with a few loose threads, leaving fans with burning questions. Thankfully, those questions won't go unanswered, as the streamer has already picked up the action thriller series for a third season ahead of the sophomore's premiere. A few details about Season 3 are already known, and we'll likely not have to wait another two years before it arrives, given that filming began last year in Istanbul. Casting for Season 3 has also been in place, but now an update per Deadline reveals that show stars Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ward Horton, and Albert Jones have been upped to series regulars for the next season.

“The Night Agent” has upped cast members Fola Evans-Akingbola, Ward Horton and Albert Jones to series regulars for its third season. The news comes just after the Jan. 23 release of Season 2.
Per the official logline, the series follows “low level FBI Agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), whose efforts to save the president (Kari Matchett) in Season 1 earn him an opportunity to become a ‘night agent’ in Season 2. Evans-Akingbola, who plays secret service agent Chelsea Arrington, is repped by Hamilton Hodell and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole. After a stellar second season and ending, The Night Agent season 3 is already in the works, but it might be missing one of the two main characters from the first season of the series.
In an interview with Deadline, Luciane Buchanan, who stars as Rose Larkin, revealed that she doesn't know if Rose will be part of season 3. She obviously wasn't going to spoil anything, but that's definitely concerning for Rose fans.
Spoilers ahead for The Night Agent season 2 finale!
Here's what Buchanan told Deadline when she asked about possibily returning for season 3:
"I have no idea, and I can’t spoil anything. I wish I could tell you, but Peter does say ‘No, don’t come looking for me,’ and I don’t think Rose takes well to direction; she does whatever she wants. So you never, never know."

The Night Agent might look a little different in the future, according to Shawn Ryan, the creator of the hit Netflix original series.
Heading into The Night Agent season 2, which just premiered on Thursday, Jan. 23, Variety profiled Gabriel Basso, who stars as Peter Sutherland, the lead character in The Night Agent. In the interview, Basso revealed his plans to leave acting behind sooner rather than later. Ryan followed up with a massive reveal that the show could continue without Peter Sutherland as the focus should Basso choose to leave the profession behind.
Here's what Ryan told Variety:
"How long does Gabriel want to do the show? The show is called ‘The Night Agent.’ It’s not called ‘The Gabriel Basso Show.’ So there may be a time when he decides he wants to do something else, and there’s a different night agent.”
I mean, that makes the most sense,...

Spoiler Alert: The story includes one minor detail from the Season 2 finale of The Night Agent.
A popular series regular character from Season 1 of The Night Agent, Chelsea Arrington, played by Fola Evans-Akingbola, will be coming back after a season-long absence.
The Netflix action drama opted for a clean slate in Season 2 with only the lead, Gabriel Basso, who plays the titular character Peter Sutherland, and Luciane Buchanan, who plays Rose Larkin, the woman Peter was charged with protecting in Season 1, returning.
Kari Matchett, who recurred in Season 1 as President Michelle Travers, made a cameo in the Season 2 premiere and that was it for the Season 1 cast of characters around Peter and Rose until the Season 2 finale, which featured a brief cameo by Evans-Akingbola’s Chelsea.
In Season 1, Chelsea Arrington drove the B plot line parallel to Peter and Rose’s — until the two converged at the end — as an ambitious U.

The Night Agent season 2 has officially been released on Netflix after almost two years since the breakout hit first premiered. Thankfully, after binge-watching all 10 episodes, you don't have to worry about the action thriller not coming back for another season. Netflix has already renewed The Night Agent season 3, and there's lot more exciting news about the next season.
In the second season, Peter returns as a full-fledged Night Agent embarking on his first real mission. Unfortunately, when that mission goes bad and results in the death of his partner, Peter goes Awol in an effort to figure out what went wrong and if there's a mole in Night Action. From there, the season explores a larger conspiracy that poses a major threat to American intelligence.
The season 2 finale teases what's next for Peter in season 3, and beyond that tease, there's so much more that we already know about the next season,...

Editor’s Note: The following post contains spoilers for “The Night Agent” Season 2.
“The Night Agent” Season 2 ends with Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) in a precarious position — but it’s not the first time he (or his family) has been there.
Shawn Ryan’s Netflix series released another 10 episodes on January 23, with Season 3 already confirmed. That announcement was enough to guarantee an open ending, but Season 2 still wraps up its central arcs pretty neatly. But how exactly did it weave together a formidable dictator, intelligence broker, Iranian intelligence, and a Presidential candidate? We break it all down below.
The Attack
The nerve-racking finale opens with Peter and everyone else converging on the U.N., which is being evacuated to assess a threat in the Hvac system. Very few people know that the threat is K.X., the chemical agent that Rose (Luciane Buchanon) helped Dr. Cole (Jay Karnes) to produce...

Gabriel Basso and Luciane Buchanan are back in The Night Agent season 2, which just premiered on Netflix on Jan. 23. And, after their characters, Peter Sutherland and Rose Larkin, saved the day in the jaw-dropping finale in The Night Agent season 1, there aren't many cast members or characters from season 1 who return for season 2.
By my unofficial count, there are only four characters who appear in season 1 and season 2: Peter, Rose, and President Michelle Travers (Kari Matchett), and one other important character that you might not have recognized.

Cameron Diaz is a big name in the film industry, even when her films don't receive good reviews. Her latest movie, Back in Action, her first one in 10 years, is a huge draw on Netflix.
The action comedy comes from Horrible Bosses director Seth Gordon and stars Jamie Foxx as the male lead. Diaz's last film was 2014's Annie but Foxx persuaded the actress to come back. This was a major win for Netflix, as the streamer revealed Back in Action topped the charts with 46.8 million views in just four days since its Jan. 17 release, considering the streamer counted the views between Jan. 13 and Jan. 20.

Back in Action Director Says Jamie Foxx Was Cameron Diaz's 'Biggest Cheerleader and Hype Man' on Set

Back in Action marks Cameron Diaz's long-awaited return to acting and a reunion with co-star Jamie Foxx. Though Cameron and Foxx play a couple in the Netflix action comedy, director Seth Gordon insists their chemistry off-screen was "inspiring" enough to make their on-screen work believable.
Speaking with People, Gordon hailed Foxx and Diaz's close friendship and how their understanding of each other made them an ideal pairing for the recently released Back in Action. According to Gordon, the duo were equally supportive throughout filming, including following Foxx's medical emergency during production. "They took turns in a really deep way supporting each other," Gordon said. "Anyone who was on set will tell you [Jamie] was the biggest cheerleader and hype man for [Diaz], and really for everybody involved, but especially for her. So she got to return the favor in that way spiritually."

Warning: Spoilers for Back in Action.
Co-written and directed by Seth Gordon, Back in Action is a quippy action comedy that follows two former CIA agents, Emily (Cameron Diaz) and Matt (Jamie Foxx), who find themselves back in the spy game 15 years after they were believed to be dead. Over a decade prior, their boss, Chuck (Kyle Chandler), tasked them with obtaining the Industrial Control Systems (Ics) Key, a special device that has the digital ability to control any electronic system.
After retrieving it from the home of a Polish Kgb agent-turned terrorist named Balthazzar Gor (Robert Besta), Emily and Matt escape via plane but soon discover that the flight crew is on Gor’s payroll. The plane ultimately crashes, and although they narrowly survive, they’re presumed dead, and the Ics Key is believed to be lost forever. After a decade away from show business, Cameron Diaz returned to acting by joining Jamie Foxx in the new Netflix movie Back in Action. The critics were not impressed with the film, but audiences do not agree, seeing very different scores on Rotten Tomatoes.
Currently, Back in Action is holding a rotten approval rating from critics of 23% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the audience score is almost three times higher, sitting at a fresh rating of 63%. This would mark another case where the critics and audiences disagree on the quality of a film to a big degree, and it perhaps gives the Back in Action team some vindication after initially stumbling with a low debut score from critics right out of the gate.

Cameron Diaz has made her acting return in Back in Action, leading viewers to wonder what other fun action films they can find her own. After over a decade without an appearance in any movies or TV series, Diaz leads Back in Action's cast alongside Jamie Foxx, delivering an action-comedy film combination that's trending in the top 10 despite its poor reviews. It's undoubtedly fun to see such an iconic star return to the scene after so many years away, but she's had better and more successful work in the genre to explore after the new release.
Cameron Diaz's best movies range from comedies like Bad Teacher to family movies like Shrek to critically acclaimed art films like Being John Malkovich. The 52-year-old actress isn't explicitly known for appearing in action movies, unlike someone like Tom Cruise or Arnold Schwarzenegger, but she's had a fair few in her stint as a movie star,...

Warning: Major spoilers for Back in Action below!Back in Action's cast elevates the latest Netflix action comedy - and uses the audience's knowledge of their previous roles against them. Back in Action marks Cameron Diaz's return to acting after a decade-long hiatus, with the movie leaning heavily on the comic chemistry between her and co-star Jamie Foxx. Reviews for Back in Action have been mixed overall, with critics giving the ensemble positive notices but finding the film itself generic and uninspired.
It certainly pulls a lot from other spy movies and TV shows, from Mr & Mrs Smith to Diaz's own action comedy Knight and Day. At least compared to Netflix's other recent spy comedy The Union, Back in Action at least has some genuine laughs and well-staged setpieces. The plot itself is nothing new, though the filmmakers wisely subvert expectations by casting name actors in roles that go against their typecasting.

Back in Action has, as easily predicted, rocketed to the top of the Netflix streaming chart on its debut. Despite coming in for some heavy critical panning, the Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx action comedy is doing exactly what was expected of it.
As a film that suffered several delays, including a lengthy one caused by Jamie Foxx’s medical issues, Back in Action’s arrival on Netflix seemed like the end of a very long journey for the movie. Billed as Diaz’s big comeback movie, her first major appearance in a decade, there has been plenty of attention put on the film, making it almost guaranteed to be a viewership winner for the streaming platform.

Cameron Diaz is one of the most popular comedy and drama actors, and her films grossed billions at the box office. However, the actress stepped out of the spotlight to focus on her family for a decade and her comeback movie is not the success she'd hoped.
Netflix's Back in Action, where she stars with Jamie Foxx, is Diaz's first film in 10 years. The movie premiered on the platform on Jan. 17, and its debut score has just been unveiled. Out of 23 reviews, Back in Action has an abysmal 26% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which might fluctuate as more reviews come in. Cameron Diaz is making an industry “comeback” with Netflix action comedy Back in Action, but the movie, which also stars Jamie Foxx, is proving to be anything other than comeback material with its Rotten Tomatoes reviews. The film, which had several setbacks during its production, arrives on the streaming platform today, and tellingly, the reviews from critics were held back until the last minute. Now, everyone can see why.
Netflix’s new action comedy has been in the headlines for many reasons over the last couple of years. As the movie Diaz chose to bring her back to screens for the first time in a decade, the film was always going to get attention. That was not the biggest headline grabber though, as that title goes to the mystery illness that saw Jamie Foxx rushed to hospital and the production shut down. Back in Action has now debuted on Rotten Tomatoes, and the score marks a lackluster acting return for star Cameron Diaz. Directed by Seth Gordon, the Netflix action-comedy stars Diaz and Jamie Foxx as former CIA operatives Emily and Matt, respectively, as they are pulled back into the world of spycraft after their real identities are exposed. The film marks Diaz's return to acting after 10 years away from the spotlight, and the Back in Action reviews now making their way online are suggesting it might not be a triumphant one.
As the film now becomes available to stream on Netflix, Back in Action's Rotten Tomatoes score has begun to take shape. I'm ashamed to admit that this review was originally mean-spirited, an attempted dexterous put-down, but then David Lynch died today. He has nothing to do with Back in Action, and it's only a matter of cosmic happenstance that the two would be mentioned in the same paragraph, let alone one train of thought. I loved Lynch's work. I also loved Roger Ebert's work as a film critic. He did not like most of Lynch's films before The Straight Story, and yet, with his particular generosity of spirit and ability to give people the intellectual benefit of doubt, he was never mean about it. He wrote in his review of Wild at Heart:
"There is something inside of me that resists the films of David Lynch. I am aware of it, I admit to it, but I cannot think my way around it. I sit and watch his...
