An adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid's New York Times Bestselling novel The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo was announced back in 2022. "I am no longer working on that project. I remain a huge, huge fan of the book and of the people working on it. It’s one of those things where you know it’s going to be a huge success." The past year of Leslye Headland’s work has been a love letter to her teenage self.
The multitalented screenwriter-director-showrunner-playwright is on the eve of closing her acclaimed Broadway debut “Cult of Love,” a project she jumped headfirst into after finishing the edit on her 2024 Disney+ Star Wars series “The Acolyte.”
“Broadway is a big deal. And I would say to 13-year-old Leslye, to do a Star Wars story then Broadway? It’s mind blowing,” Headland recently shared with Variety.

The relentless dramedy about the deterioration of a religious family on Christmas Eve – which bagged Zachary Quinto, Shailene Woodley and Headland’s spouse Rebecca Henderson for its New York run – is inspired by its author’s own childhood and relationship with faith.

Daisy Jones & The Six is an Amazon miniseries based on the historical fiction novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid and both the book and the TV show have a lot going for them. Daisy Jones & The Six follows a fictional band, the titular Daisy Jones and her six bandmates, as they play through 1970s Los Angeles, becoming one of the most famous bands of the era. The good times don't last, however, and eventually, the band breaks up. Based on Reid's experience growing up watching Fleetwood Mac, Daisy Jones & The Six is a musical and lively series.
The series went on to earn three Golden Globe nominations and three Emmy nominations, though it was shut out of its categories. Critics generally had good things to say about Daisy Jones & The Six, with most of the praise going toward the performances by Riley Keough, Camila Morrone, and Sam Claflin.

Fleetwood Mac's "Silver Springs" is one of their most popular songs, especially among Gen Z, but what is the story behind the 1977 track? Lead singer Stevie Nicks has been known for her female rage songs long before Taylor Swift took over the music industry. Swift even referenced the singer in her song "Clara Bow" from The Tortured Poets Department. However, Nicks's breakup songs were even more powerful when she was a part of Fleetwood Mac, and the band's lore was strong enough to inspire Taylor Jenkins Reid to write Daisy Jones & The Six.
Younger generations became acquainted with the band's history when Reid's novel was adapted into an Amazon Prime series starring Elvis Presley's granddaughter, Riley Keough. The Stevie Nicks-esque party girl had a connection with her bandmate, Billy Dunne, similar to Nicks's real-life romance with her bandmate, Lindsey Buckingham. Much of Fleetwood Mac's lore is connected to that romance,...

Novels from Miranda July and Taylor Jenkins Reid Should Be Adapted Next, According to The Black List

While The Black List has long been the go-to platform to discover indie scripts and hot new voices, the acclaimed organization is now launching an inaugural Adaptation List to spotlight the novels that industry insiders most want to see adapted for the screen.
These days, novel adaptations have been heating up Hollywood, thanks in no small part to the rise of BookTok. Beloved BookTok authors like Emily Henry and Colleen Hoover have already been slated to have their respective books brought to film and TV, while Taylor Jenkins Reid has been building a franchise of interconnected stories, including “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo,” “Malibu Rising,” and “Daisy Jones and the Six.”
The Black List founder Franklin Leonard and Creative Director of Fiction Randy Winston surveyed 84 publishing industry editors and literary agents, who selected the 61 novels that they believe are poised for adaptations. All novels had to be published after 2005, when The Black List launched.

One of the most captivating elements of Taylor Jenkins Reid's novels is the way in which many of the books connect within the same universe. Jenkins Reid has taken the literary world by storm and has written a number of books that have become absolute sensations. Her work has even been translated to the small screen, with Daisy Jones and the Six being adapted for Prime Video.
Though there is no specific order in which Jenkins Reid's books should be read, there is an interesting connection between some of them. There are certain characters and elements of the books that are woven together that confirm to readers that there is a shared universe. Five of her books are connected to one another and have Easter eggs scattered throughout that are enticing for readers to try and spot.

Amazons 2023 miniseries Daisy Jones & the Six transported viewers back to the 1970s with its incredibly authentic documentary style and catchy rock tunes - and the show was so believable that many viewers wondered if Daisy Jones & the Six were a real band. Based on the novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid, Daisy Jones & the Six focused on Riley Keoughs Daisy Jones and her bandmates as they came to dominate the music scene in LA, gained global stardom and, ultimately, fell apart due to personality clashes and creative differences during their national tour.

Stevie Nicks wasn’t clamoring to watch Prime Video’s Daisy Jones & the Six, but after having viewed — and liked — the show (adapted from Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel and loosely based on her romance with fellow Fleetwood Mac bandmate Lindsey Buckingham), she has some ideas of her own to contribute for Season 2.

Last year, the Prime Video streaming service released the ten episode series Daisy Jones & The Six (watch it Here), based on the best-selling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid – a novel that was partially inspired by the complicated issues Fleetwood Mac band members Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks dealt with behind the scenes. It isn’t directly the Fleetwood Mac story, but comparisons are unavoidable… and Steve Nicks soon let it be known that she loved the show and had watched its full run multiple times. She said, “It brought back memories that made me feel like a ghost watching my own story. It was very emotional for me,” and she joined many fans in hoping that there would be a second season. Stevie Nicks has an idea for a second season of Daisy Jones & The Six.
In an in-depth interview with Rolling Stone published Thursday, the music icon reflected on the ending of the Prime series in which Sam Claflin’s Billy Dunne reunites with Riley Keough’s Daisy after encouragement from his wife to give his former bandmate a call after she passes away.
Though the series’ ending was left for the audience to debate on what truly happens and offered a feeling of possibility, Nicks ponders what could be if the show should ever have another season.
“I wish that it could go into what if … had Billy come back after Billy’s wife died and knocked on her door, and they decided to make that last record that I always hoped that Lindsey and I would make. That would make a fantastic second season,” Nicks said.

This article contains spoilers for "Agatha All Along" season 1, episode 4 — "If I Can't Reach You Let My Song Teach You."
In the series premiere of Disney+ and Marvel's latest project "Agatha All Along," Kathryn Hahn turns in a pitch-perfect performance as Detective Agnes O'Connor, with the entire episode mimicking the HBO hit "Mare of Easttown" before the "TV magic" is stripped away to reveal that Agnes is actually Agatha, a now-powerless witch. In the third episode, the show offers up its own take on another HBO favorite, "Big Little Lies." So, what popular series does the fourth episode, titled "If I Can't Reach You Let My Song Teach You," reference? That would be "Daisy Jones & the Six," a huge Amazon Prime Video original based on the best-selling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
How and why does the show manage to pull off an homage to "Daisy Jones?" It's all...

After being blown away by the Prime Video adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel Daisy Jones & The Six, I decided to circle back and read the author’s debut novel, the “tragic love story” drama Forever, Interrupted… and as the story went on, I became more and more surprised that it hadn’t yet received an adaptation of some sort. It seemed ready to be brought to the screen as a heartbreaking and heartwarming movie or TV show, with solid roles for two lead actresses. Well, now it’s getting its adaptation. Glamour reports (via Deadline) that Margaret Qualley (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) and Laura Dern (Jurassic Park) are set to star in a limited series adaptation of Forever, Interrupted that’s coming our way from A24 and the Netflix streaming service.

The cast of Daisy Jones & The Six were set to take the stage once again according to series star Suki Waterhouse.
Waterhouse shared in a YouTube vlog on Thursday from the 2023 Lollapalooza festival that she along with the cast, which also included Sam Claflin, Riley Keough, Josh Whitehouse, Sebastian Chacon and Will Harrison, were supposed to perform at the Chicago-based music festival last summer.
“That whole thing was planned, we got people visas, like, it was an operation. And then the SAG strike happened, so we all decided that we should not perform at Lollapalooza,” the actress and singer recalled. Amid the strike, guidelines stated that the union’s affected members would be prohibited from all principal on-camera work — including acting, singing, dancing and stunts — on top of off-camera work, such as voice-acting and narration. All promotional activity such as interviews, award shows and podcasts were also not allowed by union members at the time.

Challengers, like Taylor Jenkins Reid's book, is not based on a true story but inspired by real-life figures, offering a thrilling look at the world of tennis. Riley Keough’s Daisy Jones & The Six Season 2 Update Is A Relief After Her New Show's 85% Rt Success

Riley Keough shines in miniseries format, with successful true crime miniseries Under The Bridge earning high praise. Daisy Jones & The Six's self-contained story doesn't need a second season, as the fate of characters was already revealed. Keough's talents are best showcased in miniseries, allowing for deep character exploration without the need for multiple seasons.
The success of Riley Keough’s new miniseries confirms that Daisy Jones & The Six not getting a second season is secretly a good thing. 2023’s Daisy Jones & The Six adapted the book of the same name by author Taylor Jenkins Reid as a ten-episode miniseries. The show charted the rise and fall of the titular singer and her band, whose fame was cut short by in-fighting and a messy love triangle with Daisy herself at the center. There will likely be no season 2 for Daisy Jones & the Six, as star Riley Keough offers a disappointing update.
