In September 2022, Ryan Reynolds gave one of the first Deadpool 3 updates, where he announced Hugh Jackman would reprise his iconic role of Wolverine in what would end up being called Deadpool & Wolverine. When Power Book II: Ghost premiered Sept. 6, 2020, the pandemic had put the whole country and world on a life-turning timeout.

Power Book II: Ghost has wrapped on Starz, but Tariq’s story could continue. Rumors of a possible spin-off have been floating around for some time now, and staR Michael Rainey Jr. addressed those rumors in a new interview with Deadline.

The network reports that the critically acclaimed drama averaged 10.5 million multiple-platform viewers 90 days post-premiere. In addition, season four episode eight showed a 6% increase over episode seven and took the #1 spot among cable programs in Black households in four major cities.

The final season of Power Book II: Ghost will go down as the most watched show ever on Starz.

The drama, which is headed toward its series finale on Oct. 4, is averaging 10.5 million viewers across all platforms, measured for 90 days post-premiere. (Several years ago, Starz noted that season five of Ghost’s predecessor, Power, averaged 10.8 million viewers, but over a longer span of time than 90 days.)

The Power franchise, which encompasses four series, has set a number of ratings records for Starz. The flagship series displaced Spartacus as Starz’s most watched show at the time back in 2015 and continued to roll up big audiences over the course of its run. Ghost, Book III: Raising Kanan and Book IV: Force — which notched the biggest opening weekend for any series premiere in the channel’s history — have also pulled in strong viewing numbers over their runs.

Power Book II: Ghost has scored a record audience at Starz ahead of the anticipated Season 4 finale.

The new season is averaging 10.5M multi-platform viewers per episode in the first 90 days since Season 4 premiered, according to data from the network. That’s an all-time high for the series.

Episode 8, which aired on September 20, delivered 6% audience growth week-over-week in the three days post-premiere, Starz said.

The series continues to index well with Black households, as Episode 8 was the top cable program among the demographic in key markets like Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Chicago and Los Angeles.

In fact, Season 4 Part 1 and 2 both debuted as the highest-rated cable program among Black households in their respective premiere weekends.

To date, the Power universe has amassed 1.6B hours watched, Starz said.

It’s the beginning of the end for Season 4, with the two-part finale kicking off September 27 at midnight Et on the Starz app and via linear at 8 p.

Three Women’s Season 1 Episode 2 focused on Lina. Her story seemed the most relatable, and my heart broke for her. She was in a loveless marriage. Her husband hadn’t touched her in 45 days, and she implied she hadn’t been in love since she was with Aidan in high school.

“I think Dru is trying to carve out a lane for himself and protect his family in the way that he sees best,” Adams-Gray said when asked about what’s driving Dru at this point in the story.

Medical dramas are a popular genre, but NBC’s Brilliant Minds differs from the rest because it’s based on the life and work of the real Dr. Oliver Sacks and his longtime friend, Dr. Carol Burnett.

The series focuses on a larger-than-life neurologist, Dr. Oliver Wolf (Zachary Quinto), who isn’t afraid to break the rules to help his patients live their lives.

Starz is bringing Power Book II: Ghost to a close with the upcoming fourth and final season. The network also confirmed the fourth season will arrive in two parts, with part one premiering on Friday, June 7, 2024. Part two kicks off on Friday, September 6th.

The end is in sight for Power Book II: Ghost.

A day after unveiling plans for a prequel series tracing the origins of Ghost and Tommy (Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora), Starz revealed that the second series in the Power franchise will come to a conclusion with its upcoming fourth season.

The final season will be split into two parts, with the first arriving Friday, June 7, followed by the second half starting Friday, Sept. 6. The show’s June debut is tied to the 10th anniversary of the debut of the flagship series in the Power franchise.

“Power Book II: Ghost” will end with Season 4 at Starz, Variety has learned.

The series, which was the first spinoff of the premium cabler’s hit crime drama “Power,” was renewed for its fourth season in January 2023. Season 4 will air in two parts, with part one debuting on June 7, while part two will launch on Sept. 6. June 7 is the tenth anniversary of “Power’s” premiere on Starz.

Starz has canceled Power Book II: Ghost, with the show’s fourth season to serve as its last. It will be broken into two parts, premiering June 7 and September 6. Watch the teaser above.

The move was prefaced by Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch this week when he revealed plans to contain content costs by developing more new shows versus sustaining series longer as they become more expensive.

Power Book II: Ghost season 4 brings back beloved characters and will address lingering questions from season 3's cliffhanger. The Power universe explores criminal underworlds through powerful families, with conflicts rooted in characters wanting to escape. Power Book II: Ghost season 4 will feature the return of the beloved characters of the series and must pick up on the cliffhanger of the season 3 finale while answering all its remaining questions. The Power universe comprises the series Power, Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and Power Book IV: Force. Each show puts a unique spin on the criminal and drug underworld and focuses on the most powerful families within the enterprises. Many of the conflicts arise from certain characters wishing to escape this life but can't help being pulled back in.

The BBC is making a documentary about the investigation into the tragic murder of Sarah Everard, which led to a major reckoning over misogyny and bad behavior in London’s Metropolitan police force. Sarah Everard: The Search For Justice looks into Everard’s murder, how the devastating crime unfolded and its impact. Everard was killed by a serving police officer, Wayne Couzens, who abducted her as she walked home in March 2021, and this became a watershed moment for the nation. There were mass protests against male violence towards women and the narrative of ‘one bad apple’ in the police force was destroyed. The force was placed in special measures and a major review of the Met Police found a culture of denial, widespread bullying, discrimination, institutional homophobia, misogyny and racism. BBC Studios is behind the single doc, which is being EP-d by Emily Lawson and Kirsty Cunningham.

Exclusive: Filming is due to get underway next week in Canada on indie feature Morningside, which will star singer-songwriter and two-time Juno Award winner Fefe Dobson, Lovell Adams-Gray (Power Book II: Ghost), Kiana Madeira (Fear Street series), Alex Mallari Jr. (Ginny and Georgia), Joanne Jansen (Shadowhunters), Olunike Adeliyi (The Porter) and Brandon McKnight (The Flash).

The film will chart personal struggles, relationships, and societal challenges faced by the diverse set of characters amid the looming threat of gentrification.

The project will be distributed in the U.S. on SVOD by AMC’s All Blk, which contributed funding, alongside private investors.

Power Book II: Ghost, a spinoff of the crime drama series Power, made its debut back in 2020. The series had been extremely successful and a hit among viewers. Having run for three seasons, the series follows the character of Tariq St. Patrick, the son of James 'Ghost' Patrick from Power. The spinoff sees Tariq navigate his life, attempting to leave the criminal underworld for good while balancing both his father's legacy and family. However, Tariq's mission to go legitimate is not as easy as he thinks. His family's legacy and the number of enemies they had acquired over the years become binds that Tariq struggles to get out of.

Speaking of the success of the series, Starz renewed Power Book II: Ghost for its fourth season back in January 2023. The renewal announcement came even before the premiere of the show's third season. The new season is being executive produced by Brett Mahoney.

Another week, another major player on "Power Book II: Ghost" meets a tragic fate - though many viewers probably saw this one coming. The third season premiere of Power Book II: Ghost drew the biggest opening weekend audience ever for a Starz series, the premium cable outlet says.

The show’s March 17 debut brought in 5.8 million viewers across all platforms over its first three days, according to Nielsen and internal data. That makes it the biggest premiere weekend ever for a Starz original series.

Though Starz didn’t break down viewers by platform, based on viewing patterns for other premium series, a large majority of the audience likely streamed the Ghost premiere. The show’s on-air premiere brought in 362,000 viewers, per Nielsen — just 6 percent of the three-day total. That’s in keeping with shows like HBO’s Euphoria, Showtime’s Yellowjackets, and Starz’s own P-Valley, whose initial, on-air viewership makes up just a small fraction of the total.

The 5.8 million viewers also includes multiple replays on the Starz cable channel over the weekend.

Season 3 of Power Book II: Ghost has smashed viewership records for Starz.

The premiere episode delivered 5.8M multi-platform viewers in its first three days after it debuted on March 17, which the network says is its biggest premiere weekend ever. That’s up quite significantly from the 362,000 viewers that tuned in to the episode’s initial live telecast.

Weekend multi-platform viewership for the Season 3 debut was also up about 30% from the Season 2 premiere in November 2021. Interestingly, the Season 2 premiere drew 518,000 for its live broadcast, which was on a Sunday. Season 2 averaged a little over half a million live viewers per episode.

Prior to the launch of Season 3, Starz signaled its confidence in the series with an early renewal for a fourth installment. Season 4 is currently in production in New York.
