Momoko (Noriko Eguchi) quit her job after getting married but she's unable to have children. She discovers that her husband Mamoru (Kotaro Koizumi) has been having an affair with a younger woman named Nao (Fumika Baba) and he demands they divorce. Feeling stressed from her situation Momoko starts exhibiting erratic and abnormal behavior and she increasingly feels rejected from both her family and society.

Chihiro Ito has made a name for herself as a scriptwriter, with her collaborations with Isao Yukisada bringing us titles such as “Before the Vigil”,and “Crying Out Love in the Center of the World”. Recently, she has also taken up the directorial chair for herself, coming up with “Side by Side” and “In Her Room”, the latter of which we will be dealing with in the particular review. The film is based on a novel she wrote, and is produced by Isao Yukisada, while starring Satoru Iguchi, the keyboardist for J-pop sensation King Gnu, in his first starring role.

Bubblicious Kei Kikuno is studying bookkeeping, but actually doubles as a killer for hire, a member of a group also consisting of boss lady “The Shopkeeper”, metal-wig baldy driver Zura, and eventually, bowl-cut Watanabe who is kind of forced to join when he followed Kei, his crush, one day after his classes.
