Prime Video produced a broad array of shows in 2023, including animated fantasy epics, high-concept sci-fi tales, and pulsating thrillers. Old favorites like Jack Ryan returned with new episodes, and there were also fresh new shows like Swarm, and I'm a Virgo. Although streaming faces something of an uncertain future, Prime Video has platformed a diverse roster of talent, and this will serve them well in the long run.
In 2023, Prime Video's best TV shows were a mixture of old and new. Some crowd-pleasing favorites made triumphant returns, including more than one which ended their series in style. Along with the streaming service's most popular shows, a batch of new gems made great first impressions, and some of them could easily last for multiple seasons. Prime Video produced everything from period comedies to animated sci-fi, and much more in between.

Warning! Spoilers about Hunters season 2 ahead.Hunters season 1 finale's ending shot revealed how The Colonel's work actualized and how she was truly protecting Hitler; however, Eva's plan proved misguided, leaving many loose ends in Hunters season 2 episode 8. Despite the ever-present promise of great evil being discussed every time Eva (Lena Olin) was shown in Argentina, not much moved toward the goal Eva repeatedly said to have of creating a Fourth Reich. Although that might have had to do with Hitler (Udo Kier) refusing to see her as a leader, even after he was apprehended and brought to justice by Jonah (Logan Lerman) and the other hunters, Eva's plan struggled to make sense.
While Hunters season 1 focused a lot more on Nazis and neo-Nazis occupying all sorts of influential societal positions, Hunters season 2 saw Eva and Travis (Greg Austin) mostly lead Hitler's defense from the hunters. Indeed, having the hard proof...

The first season of Prime Video’s “Hunters” series followed a fictional crew of civilians in late ‘70s New York who took out Nazis hiding in the US following Operation Paperclip. The team not only uncovered a German conspiracy to birth a Fourth Reich on American soil but discovered that one of their own was a former member of the Nazi regime.
The hit squad returns after almost a three-year hiatus for a second and final season this week, and features the entire team returning — including former MI6 agent and warrior nun Sister Harriet (Kate Mulvany), hacker and former Black Power movement member Roxy Jones (Tiffany Boone), munitions expert and Holocaust survivor Mindy Markowitz (Carol Kane), flamboyant actor and intel specialist Lonny Flash (Josh Radnor), former Marine Joe Torrance (Louis Ozawa Changchien) and new leader and codebreaker Jonah Heidelbaum (Logan Lerman). It is time to get the band back together because Hitler is on the menu.
Jonah and Millie focus on getting the hunters back together so that they can hunt down Hitler on Hunters Season 2 Episode 2.
On Hunters Season 2 Episode 1, we only focused on the lives of two hunters and got a rough idea of where the third one is.
Jonah knows hunting and stalking a single Nazi and then killing him is easier than tracking down Hitler.
I mean, it's not that hard to follow and overpower older men and women who, despite being quite dangerous, have now become weak physically and mentally and let their guards down.
Hitler's whereabouts would not be easy to find. It must be the biggest and most guarded secret by those who still like him and sympathize with his misguided cause.
Finding Millie would be easier than finding the rest of the team.

From the first episode, I was utterly taken in by the Amazon Prime series Hunters. The darkly comic – and sometimes just plain dark – series impressed with the intriguing storyline and the fantastic talent behind and in front of the camera. And now, we have the return of this complex and fascinating series. The good news is the second season brings on a whole set of brilliant elements, including Jennifer Jason Leigh. She joins Logan Lerman, Al Pacino, Josh Radnor, Carol Kane, Greg Austin, Tiffany Boone, Louis Ozawa, and Lena Olin. The bad news, for this viewer at least, is that this is also its final season. And you can check it out now on Prime.
We recently spoke to several of the fine folks behind this excellent series. And happily, it was a joy to chat with Mr. Logan Lerman again. When I asked him about taking on a producer role,...

Plot: After an accident derails their exploits in Europe, The Hunters must band back together to hunt down history’s most infamous Nazi—Adolf Hitler—who’s hiding in South America. Meanwhile, a look to the past reveals Meyer Offerman (Al Pacino) encountering a dangerous threat that could unravel his secret and expose his true identity, with explosive reverberations for our Hunters.
Review: It is rare to see a television series go out on its own terms after such a short time on the air. Despite premiering three years ago, the second season of Hunters was delayed due to Covid-19. After so many years away, the dramatic series about Nazi hunters in the 1970s returns with a vastly different sophomore season which also serves as its last. I enjoyed the first season of this pulpy exploitation thriller, but I loved the second despite it feeling like a wholly different series.

The first season of "Hunters" was simultaneously like a bolt of lightning and a lightning rod. Its presentation of the atrocities of the Holocaust was heavily criticized for exaggerating real-life horrors and trivializing them as a result. Its tonal inconsistencies were often misinterpreted or disregarded as careless and messy. Certain scenes were deemed overly theatrical or dramatic to a fault, and arguments were made that the message was lost as a result. Some folks also just didn't like it, and that's fair.
The exaggerations of the Holocaust are a double-edged sword. They're necessary because the world increasingly acts as if the Holocaust as we know it is in itself an exaggeration or an outright lie. And yet, exaggerating things further, making them more horrific because the truth no longer seems to horrify people, puts the community at risk of being disregarded as liars. The wild and erratic tonal shifts across the season were carefully constructed,...

Screen Rant is thrilled to present an exclusive clip from Hunters season 2, which lands on Prime Video this week after much anticipation. The first season, which originally premiered to great fanfare back in February 2020, followed a group of misfits who banded together to track down Nazis planning to create a Fourth Reich in the United States in the 1970s. Created by David Weil, Hunters is led by Logan Lerman (Bullet Train) and Al Pacino, while also featuring a talented ensemble cast that includes Josh Radnor, Greg Austin, Tiffany Boone, Louis Ozawa, and Kate Mulvany.
Hunters season 1 saw young Jonah Heidelbaum (Lerman) become part of the crew in place of his grandmother, who was tragically murdered and whose killer he swore to take down as he hunted Nazis under the tutelage of Meyer Offerman (Pacino). But nothing was as it seemed in the conspiracy-laden show, and Offerman was eventually revealed to...

Hunters is finally returning for even bigger action, nearly three years after the series first premiered on Prime Video. The series introduced an eclectic group of characters on the hunt for Nazis who went into hiding after escaping justice following World War II. However, as is true today, Hunters also featured new additions to the Nazi regime, including Travis Leich (Greg Austin).
Travis proved an especially dangerous individual, willing to torture and kill anyone in his sight, whether it was part of his mission or not. Travis ended the first season in prison, arrested by FBI Agent Millie Morris, as he worked to gain new support for the Neo-Nazi movement. The final season of Hunters will delve into the shocking revelation that Hitler is still alive, as well as how this affects the Hunters and surviving Nazis and Neo-Nazis like Travis.

Hunters Season 2 is set to continue the titular team’s Nazi-wasting ways.
Amazon Studios officially made the order for a second season of the campy, alt-universe, ultraviolent crime thriller series, Hunters, stopping short of setting any production or Amazon Prime Video release windows, obviously due to the intrinsic uncertainty of the Covid era. However, the second season renewal announcement was posted with an accompanying teaser trailer bearing the era-appropriate imagery of a spinning Season 2 logo-brandishing vinyl record before building to the opening bass line of a show-familiar tune in Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer.”

Showrunners David Weil and Nikki Toscano on creating the wild Hunters out of unspeakable tragedy.
You’ve never seen a TV series quite like Hunters. Created by David Weil, who serves as co-showrunner with Nikki Toscano, and produced by Amazon and Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, the 10-episode series is set in 1977 and follows a ragtag, diverse group of clandestine spies, researchers and assassins who are out to find and stop a wave of Nazis who have infiltrated the United States. The Hunters are tracking down potentially hundreds of surviving Nazi monsters, who are here to hatch a diabolical plan and soon begin hunting the Hunters as well.
While running down Nazis in America is neither a new or, sadly, fictional idea, Hunters takes the concept to extremes. The series whipsaws between solemn flashbacks to the horrors of the concentration camps, heightened scenes of action and violence in its 1977 setting,...

Punching Nazis in the face is good, but is it enough for an entire TV series? Let’s find out with Amazon Prime’s Hunters.

This Hunters review contains no spoilers.
Twenty minutes into “In the Belly of the Whale,” the first episode of Amazon’s Nazi-hunting drama Hunters, the character responsible for committing one of the series’s most gruesome and unapologetic acts of violence explains why he isn’t concerned about the consequences.
“You can get away with anything in America.”
For a show depicting an alternate history in which hundreds (if not thousands) of Nazi officials and affiliates have survived World War II and secretly infiltrated the United States government and American society at large, and a much smaller but equally secret band of Jewish Nazi hunters are picking them off one by one--this very well may be its most subtle and sophisticated bit of commentary.

Because Amazon’s Hunters isn’t just any show, TV Fanatic enlisted both Carissa Pavlica and Kerr Lordygan to watch and discuss.
Hopefully, this approach will offer a wider opinion on what you’re committing to watch. A team of hunters rooting out Nazis living in an America that welcomed them is heavy stuff, but it’s entertainment with a message.
Al Pacino stars as a Holocaust survivor named Meyer who takes the grandson of an old friend under his wing after the death of his grandmother. Logan Lerman is Jonah, a young man with his head in the sand regarding the horrors his grandmother suffered, who gets an eye-opening awakening in the wake of her death.
With a talented ensemble cast, the story unfolds with a lot of panache and some nausea-inducing barbarity making Hunters a unique and always entertaining watch.

“Hunters,” a new Amazon series about vigilantes seeking to bring justice to Nazis hiding in 1970s America, is fixated in ways by which violence can be made weird. It features a vast conspiracy of Nazis embedded in the U.S. government, one of whom enters the series by committing a gruesome mass killing. It goes on to depict the baroque ways a team led by Al Pacino’s Meyer Offerman obtains revenge on their quarry, including force-feeding manure to a society matron as she pleads for mercy.
Yuck! This scene, like many others on “Hunters,” makes its point, then goes on making it long after the stomach has turned. This show seems to borrow much of its aesthetic from Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” — a film about the gleeful process of claiming vengeance on Hitler’s footsoldiers — but it fails to get the alchemical balance right. Its nastiness, even as deployed...

After coming to Netflix and receiving his first Oscar nomination in 27 years for “The Irishman,” Al Pacino might next receive an Emmy nomination for his new Amazon’s “Hunters.”
Executive-produced by Jordan Peele, “Hunters” marks Pacino’s first regular series role. “Hunters” may be set in 1970s New York City, but the message of the upcoming Amazon Nazi-hunting series is about as timely as it gets.
“We’re facing an epidemic of anti-Semitism, racism, xenophobia — the likes of which we haven’t seen in decades,” creator David Weil said Tuesday at the Television Critics Association press tour. “So this show is really a question. It’s: ‘What do you do?'”
“For this show about a group of vigilantes who try and reclaim the power, the question the show poses is: ‘If you hunt monsters, do you risk becoming a monster yourself?'” Weil continued. “I think that’s very timely, I think it’s a question we should all be asking ourselves in this day and age.”
