A desolate landscape, rampaging murderers, bandit-style gangsters, and seemingly normal people losing all morals. No, it's not Fallout or the latest spin-off of The Walking Dead. It's Paramount+'s K-Drama, Bargain. With the short run times, only three hours spread across six episodes, it is a testament to the great exposition and character writing that so much occurs in this terrifying thriller, yet you never lose the stakes of the moment. After detective Noh Hyung-Soo (Jin Seon-Kyu) is kidnapped while undercover at an organ trafficking organization, an earthquake interrupts the auction of Hyung-Soo's organs that Park Ju-Young (Jeon Jong-Seo) presides over for the gangsters in charge. Hyung-Soo and Ju-Young must fight off bloodthirsty criminals and other patrons desperate for the organs they purchased to reach the $7 million hidden in The Boss's (Wayne LeGette) vault and get out of the collapsing building alive.

Two-part extravaganzas have always been huge gambles for their creative teams. Hollywood is no stranger to shooting back-to-back sequels, from “The Matrix” to “The Hobbit” to Netflix’s recent “Rebel Moon” saga, and Asian cinema has followed a similar path. John Woo split his expansive Han Dynasty battle epic “Red Cliff” in two for much of its worldwide distribution, while Bollywood’s “Gangs of Wasseypur“(with its initial 319 minute runtime) has seen many iterations, first as two films, then as eight much shorter episodes for its Netflix distribution. In all of these cases, there is a gravitas that comes with the filmmaker’s vision, bursting with ideas and flourishes that cannot be contained in the average one-off cinema experience. Yet with that comes a crucial hope for the goodwill of the audience, that they’re willing to come back, buy another ticket and sit back down to see the conclusion of the story.

South Korean star Jin Seon-Kyu is trapped in a horrific situation in the dystopian K-drama Bargain. Collider can exclusively unveil a trailer for the series ahead of its arrival on Paramount+ that shows him playing an unfortunate victim going from buyer to merchandise to survivor over the course of a few minutes. He plays Noh Hyung Soo, one of many victims drawn to a remote hotel with the promise of sexual encounters only to wind up trapped in a human trafficking ring where his organs are on the auction block. He gets a second chance when an earthquake topples the building, freeing him from certain death but forcing him to survive in the rubble with the people who tried to buy and sell him along with other strangers gathered for their own means.

Revenant, like so many horror stories, begins on a rainy night. Disney+’s latest South Korean drama opens as Professor Gu Kang-mo (Jin Seon-kyu) hurries through his front door, past shelves piled with books, and barricades himself in the study. “What went wrong?” he asks himself, flipping through his notes. Behind him, visible through paper windows, flashes of lightning illuminate a shadowy figure — its hair writhing in a wide halo like snakes.

Korean dramas have taken the movie and television industry by storm in recent years, and while they were once synonymous with romance stories, that has changed. Despite Korea's long-standing reputation as home to some of the world's finest cinema, the success of television shows like Stranger, Signal, K2, and Voice has repeatedly proven that the industry can produce masterpieces even on the small screen. The Uncanny Counter is one such Korean drama that has garnered enormous popularity in recent years.
The Uncanny Counter is a South Korean television series based on a popular webtoon by Jang Yin. The drama's first season aired from November 2020 to January 2021 before concluding with 16 episodes and an emotional and beautiful climax for fans who had been on the journey for three months.
With the series renewed for a second season, fans were eager to see what So Mun (Cho Byeong Kyu) and the other Counters would be getting up to.

Without doubt, it was “Train to Busan” in 2016 that brought the human juggernaut that is Ma Dong-seok to international prominence but it wasn’t until one year later that he became the one-man one-punch knockout machine Don Lee that we know and love in director Kang Yoon-seok’s “The Outlaws”. In addition to propelling the beefy actor into leading man superstardom, the feature was also vastly profitable at the box office, sprouting many similar projects that relied on their leading man’s physical abilities. So it was only a matter of time before a sequel was greenlit. Oddly enough, though a sequel was officially announced shortly after the release and success of “The Outlaws”, it took 5 years for eventual sequel “The Roundup” to see release.

To repatriate a culprit from a past case who has confessed to his crimes to the Vietnamese police, Detective Ma Seok-do and his team captain Jeon Il-man head to Vietnam.
