Historical action epics are always good for a watch on streaming, and the latest to enjoy a strong performance is the little-known The Oath, a 2023 movie that has made an unexpected charge to the top of the Starz streaming chart. Set in Ancient America in 400 A.D., the film recounts a tumultuous era for the people who survived on the continent that would become one of the most advanced nations in the world. However, despite the movie’s current lofty position at the top of the Starz movie chart, the film failed to live up to its potential in either financial terms or in its reviews.

The Oath attempts to explore a chapter of American history that is often overlooked on screen, and follows a band of warriors in a culturally volatile time. The official synopsis of the movie reads:

“Severance” returns on Apple TV+ this Friday, but it’s been nearly three years since the first season of the sci-fi workplace thriller ended on a brutal cliffhanger.

Premiere Entertainment Group (Peg) has added action adventure The Oath directed by and starring Darin Scott to its EFM sales slate, following the recent US release in more than 650 theatres via Freestyle Releasing.

Set in 400 Ad Scott plays a lone Hebraic fugitive who fights to preserve the history of his fallen nation while being hunted by a ruthless tyrant played by Billy Zane.

Rounding out the key cast are Karina Lombard, Eugene Brave Rock, Nora Dale, Philip Niu, Aron Stevens, and Wase Chief.

Scott co-wrote the screenplay with his wife Michelle Scott, and produced the film for Great Scott Entertainment...

A historic drama about the descendants of two brothers from Egypt battling for control in North America, sounds like the premise of an imaginative action film. Exclusive: Allen Media Group has acquired North American rights to the period action-adventure pic The Oath, from actor-filmmaker Darin Scott (Yellowstone), slating its release via their division Freestyle Releasing. The film will hit over 650 theaters across the country on Friday, December 8, emerging on digital and VOD March 26, 2024.

For Lumon macrodata refiners Mark (Adam Scott), Dylan (Zach Cherry), Helly (Britt Lower) and Irving (John Turturro), the Season 1 finale of Apple TV+’s Severance is full of revelations.
