An extremely hard-working and passionate writer and director, Andrew Schwarz graduated from Hofstra University in 2014 with a dual degree in Film Production and Music Composition. He is a filmmaker of diligence, precision, and creativity with a flare for detail and an appetite for discovering new and exciting ways to tell interesting stories. He is also the award-winning composer and editor of several successful films.
Schwarz's first-time directed film, Separation (2014), a short thesis project shot on 16mm film, garnered several award wins and nominations at festivals all over the world, giving him widespread global attention directly out of undergraduate college.
His second short film, The Cabinet In The Woods (2016), won 7 awards including Best Short Film at the 2017 Hoboken International Film Festival and Best Director at the 2016 Northeast Horror Film Festival. It was also an official selection of and screened at the Academy Award-qualifying Nashville Film Festival in 2017.
Schwarz's third short film, Beauty (2018), screened at several film festivals as well and garnered several awards including Best Domestic LGBTQ Film and Best Actress (Jennifer Jiles) at 2020 The Cutting Room International Short Film Festival.
The newest short film directed by Andrew Schwarz, The Session (2021) is set to premiere in film festivals in the Spring of 2022, and he is working on a feature-length script to become his feature directorial debut.
